They also have a dumb offense. How many times are they going to run Wadley up the gut for no yards? Open the playbook.

Looking at this page of comments from you guys is funny.
Everything you say is true.
We are ultra conservative.
I wont say we are poorly coached, because we are a developmental program and we do that well. But our in game coaching is terrible.
Running Wadley up the middle is opening up the playbook.
Our defense should be better than what they showed today. But this is the Clowns super bowl. They always get up for this game.

I hate playing ISU. I wish we get them off our schedule. It is a no win for Iowa. ISU is always bad, so a win doesnt gain us anything. And a loss can be devastating (see 2002).

We were lucky today. But sometimes its better to be lucky than good.

Wadley in 2 games:

I found it absolutely baffling that someone wanted Jerry Kill as not only their offensive coordinator but also QB coach.

Willie Taggart is doing a great job with talent that doesn't really fit what he's done elsewhere. Oregon has a good one here.

This is at least the 4th year I've used streaming services like WatchESPN and NBC Sports online. This year is by far the worst performance I've received in terms of buffering issues and streams just stopping.

It's pretty clear that the problem for OSU isn't the play caller, but the quarterback. Barrett just isn't very good throwing the ball.

Completely disagree with that.
The pass in the end zone was beautiful but just went through the arms of the receiver. Same thing happened last week. Right through the hands of Campbell.
The problem isn't Barrett. The problem is the receivers for the last 2 years not getting open. At all.

I admit double bias in this situation, but I still never saw an angle proving he had full control before his other hand hit the paint, which I thought was required to overturn the call on the field.

Its not that AR lost to TCU but that we looked pretty sad. Let's hope we can pull it together quick otherwise another another disappointing season for the razorbacks.

Let's bring Petrino back!

No thanks.

This was my post game thoughts.

Defense: B - created turnovers, held Hill under 170 passing. For 2nd game in the 3-4 it was much better than I expected. TCU had 2? plays over 15 yards and they went for 22 and 18.

Offense: D - Allen still is half a second slow on release and under threw plenty of passes. Sick of hearing this he's brave bullshit, release the ball on time and you won't get hit. Run game was nothing with Watley in there. Hayden wasn't given a chance this week. 5 of first 7 drives were 3 and out fucking over the defense.

Special teams: F - We already know about FGs, kick return game produced 33 yards and a fumble lost. 6 punts for barely over 40 yards and no hang time.

The problem isn't Barrett. The problem is the receivers for the last 2 years not getting open. At all.

He's indecisive when passing and misses the timing of when to throw. He throws when they are open, not when they will be open.

If OSU loses I'd like to see the team move on and start the next QB. Coaches have figured out how to handle Barrett and he hasn't shown much ability to overcome that.

edit: And it appears that losing the whole secondary every year has finally caught up to them.

JT is indecisive at times yes. That doesn't make him not very good at throwing the ball though. He makes good throws very often.
In the first half he dropped back what, 11 times? 3 or 4 of those times he had to throw the ball away simply because receivers weren't getting open, which is a common theme. One pass for sure was just not caught. The others he had to throw underneath, because again, receivers cannot get open downfield.

Has he improved over his career at throwing the ball? No.
Will he be benched for another QB? That is laughable. No.
As I type this he throws a pick and OU is about to put this game away. I still stand by it not being so much him as the receivers not getting open outside of 15 yards and OSU needs a downfield playmaker so badly and cant quite find one over the last 2 years like we had with Smith 3 years ago.

USC had Stanford on 3rd and something (I think). Outside edge is coming and ref blows the whistle. The guy drops/gets blocked to his knees beside the QB and he taps him and grabs him trying not to fall into the QBs knees and if given a 15 yd personal foul for hitting the QB after a whistle.
