Earlier in the day you seemed so resolved to find a Blakekin. Your rightness strengthened your spirits. However, as the discussion drew near a conclusion, your conversations grew more hesitant as the weight of today’s task laid bare the awful truth of your impending decision.
Today, you are going to cast one of your number into the flames. You knew from the previous incident that the Blakekin can be found this way. Jerome Blake died in a fire, so his weakness is fire. The possessed among you fear it. Lots are cast and the decision is done. Dale Erskind has been chosen to feed the flames. His eyes, usually so sure of himself, are suddenly filled with a frenetic fear. “No, come on, guys, no.” But the group stares at Dale. Some meet his gaze, and others stare past at the fire. So mesmerizing. “Seriously, no” Your decision is made. “But I only got 7 votes, I didn’t even get half. You can’t kill me when most of you thought I wasn’s possessed.” One of you responds, “We agreed that whoever got a majority of votes would be tossed.” “Actually, no, we agreed that whoever got the most votes would be voted out. This is a plurality, not a majority,“ someone corrects. The group begins discussion the issue with Dale sees an opportunity and inches towards the door. A decision is made just as he darts for the door, but he is caught by 17 pairs of hands. “If I were possessed, I’d KNOW it you idiots. Put me down! Put me down or you will be sorry.” Driven by a group will, almost a panic, you hitch up Dale’s body and toss him into the furnace. His screams of pain last just a few seconds, but will haunt your dreams. As he dies, a red light, not of the fire begins to envelop the body, and then dissipates. This was wholly unnatural. This was the sign… Of a Blakekin! Danny was Dale Erskind, the Unknown. He was Blakekin but believed himself to be a vanilla villager. Chapter 2 has begun and will end and process at 1:30 am.

I beleive this makes Lathum look good. Though this isn't a normal cunning as it seems that he didn't even know he was or who the others were.
Normal cunning would mean Lathum is gold. In this situation it's still up in the air (he may scan as villager but he also thinks he is a villager so getting rid of him early may be their best bet so he doesn't screw them up (see my earlier comment about Danny being an asset to the village as a villager, which is what he would have been trying to be). |

He actually would scan as Wolf, but Danny didn't know it. I really think this clears Lathum a lot.

as a wolf I would be much more interested in learning the tie breaker the breaking the tie.
so get off my back EF, isn't it bad enough the Phils have won 9 in a row? |

Not bad. Only half a victory IMO though, since he didn't know he was a wolf. But I guess we also didn't kill a villager, so maybe it's 3/4 of a victory.

Thought he scanned as village but I see you are right. It makes Lathum look a little better but I am still not sold that it makes him look perfect. With Danny as basically a rogue wolf who didn't even know that he was supposed to be playing for the wolves it may make plenty of sense to sacrifice him early before he can do any unknowing damage. |

What is Pass was also a wolf. Then it would make much more sense to get rid of Danny than risking the tie breaker taking out a known quantity and still allowing the unknown to potentially hurt the wolve's chances. It would also be a good way to hope to earn a spot in the CoT. Not saying that you are a wolf, just saying that I don't think that your Danny vote is a slam dunk for CoT. |

Just a thought, having taken a closer look at the rules - do we have a cunning wolf in this game?
Quote:
We've found the Unknown (who would have scanned as a wolf anyway), but I don't see anything in the other role descriptions that suggests that there's a cunning wolf/Blakekin out there. (Of course, I might be missing something, or Abe might sneak in a couple of unknown mechanics...) |

As you bring to the conclusion of a day both glorious and empty, you think back over your decisions. You were right, but you know you got lucky. Tonight, you hope against all hope that Dale was the only Blakekin and you have removed the threat from your midst.
Day turns to morning and the 16 of you head off to school. You arrive and... wait a minute... 16? Who's missing? You start counting off. After a few moments, you realize that Katrina Snyder is no where to be found. Where is she? You dash through school. In your guts, you know where she is, but you check everywhere else first, hoping against hope that she is playing a prank, or whatever. Then you all end up at the beginning. The place where it all began. You open the door of the boiler room and enter. You spy a half burned oboe in the ashes of the furnace. Katrina Snyder has played her last note. Katrina Snyder (henry) has been killed by the Blakekin. She was the Rabble Rouser. Chapter 3 has begun and will end at 10 pm Tuesday night. You may begin revealing Hidden Info if you wish.

I can't stand seeing the pain, death and destruction in this world have caused. Everything is our lives is spiralling out of control.

Yeah, I did chuckle to myself considering my question earlier in the day and the evening result. I took a look back at the D1 voting and found this post: Quote:
Danny had no votes as of post 161 with a few people having 2 votes and a few having 1, when nfg and path both voted for him in quick succession. I'm not an experienced player, but that seems like it'd be a pretty unusual move for wolves to make when there are likely a number of other villagers (by probability and knowing my own allegiance) to vote for. Quote:
Your hypothetical doesn't look too strong when you look at the earlier voting. When it was 4-3-3-3 Danny-Pass-JAG-lerriuqs, Lathum took a vote off me to vote for Pass, establishing Pass as a candidate with Danny while making me less of one. That combined with killing Danny and that I know I'm a villager puts Lathum at the top of my trust list. I know Lathum's a very good wolf, but to make Pass more of a candidate assuming he's a wolf when there was at least one other villager to vote for seems awfully unlikely, especially in a game where there is no cunning (for MartinD). From post 3: Quote:
Anyway, at this point I don't have great insight as to who to vote for, but I have some good ideas who I'm not voting for. |

JAG/Stacy - that was some of the most clear-headed thinking I've ever heard spoken by a girl. Of course, I don't talk to all that many girls ... so I guess it is the best of a small sample set.
Still, nice work It is good to have a group that you feel you can trust a little more than others. |

Thank you. That statement was completely based on late action and not related to any earlier voting actions. Factoring the earlier actions into it makes Lathum look much better in my eyes (not that he looked bad before, just had the possibility out there). I have been sitting on a bit of informatiohn as I am stumped if I should say anything or not. I guess it doesn;t do any harm in saying though and the wolves already know it. I was slutted in chapter two. Saw the PM and thought it meant I was night killed but when I opened it I was told that I was slutted and would not be able to perform a night action. This is actually good for us as it was a wasted action on their part. I fully expect to be killed during the next night phase to keep us from forming a CoT. As long as they go after me it buys our seer a couple nights to scan and our bodyguard a couple nights to attempt a block. |

Yeah, I'd say there would be no reason I can think of to withhold that information, so it's good that you shared it. Since there's no guarantee that the slut Blakekin is in the game or even if there is it's possible they could choose to enslut a fellow wolf, it's possible you could be a wolf lying about it. Unlikely perhaps, just saying that it's not a guarantee that you're trusted with this information being presented. At this point I'm ok going along with it and the truth will come out soon enough with lynches or scans. |
