PC patch still not out is a travesty ...
as far as i can remember this 3 point bug was in one of the previous versions as well (2k7 ?) and is now making a comeback, yikes ... Anybody have any news on wether or not the excessive CPU passing out of drives is fixed ?? (big time finishers like James, Wade making stupid jump passes) |

Sorry for the PC users but I'm glad the 360 patch is coming out. Any details of what the patch is going to fix? Same as the PS3?

Absolutely yes. This has been the most significant change in my enjoyment of my association on PS3 in the second patch. In my bobcats dynasty, I happened to play New Jersey in the playoffs two years in a row, once pre-patch, once post. In the first year, Devin Harris(rated 90 or 91 OVR IIRC) was a total non factor, he never shot anything but 3's because he'd pass out of every drive, despite being the best player on the floor by a long shot. This season(post patch now), he creates havoc on the court constantly. He drives by my guards with relative ease and if I don't help in time he'll go to the rim himself or take 12-15 foot shots. If I do help in time and truly cover him sometimes he'll go up anyway, sometimes he'll pass out of it for a wide open shot for someone else. The difference has been astounding and feels a lot more realistic. Last edited by Radii : 01-20-2010 at 09:51 AM. |

want the goddamn PC patch!!!
oh well - good news is that with the PC patch taking so long i'm sure the PC modding community will continue to support 2k10 well into 2k11 so maybe I won't have to buy that straightaway. really the delay is pretty ridiculous at this point though

DT: You may get lucky. They may fix the issues that are popping up in the PS3 patch before releasing the PC patch.

Not that I can tell, no. Wasn't on my older laptop either. Runs smooth. Wasn't there a fix for the framerate issue that we discussed earlier or something?

Does anyone know if the 360 patch has the same issues as the PS3 patch regarding the three-point shots?

It does. The issue can apparently be fixed by turning off player roles. Note, however, that player roles can only be turned off when you are setting up an association. I think if you have an association in progress you are just stuck with the 3 pointers unless you start over. |

I really want to finally start my franchise but there are a couple of issues created by the patch that irritate me. Not sure what I am going to do. |

I know there was an issue on the 360. I have issues with the frame rate, yet can run Mlb2k9 on super high settings with no issue at all. |

This is pretty much how I feel. I checked through my team after the patch and Tyson Chandler is shooting 1 or 2 threes most games in simmed games. In the playoffs against the Nets its slightly hard to judge because the Nets PF is Travis Outlaw who is a legit 3 point shooter(rated A- outside and even has the 3 point specialist icon). But their center, Samuel Dalembert, did take 3 3's during the series and his backup took 1. That's 4 shots in 6 games. Right now I'm thinking that I don't really care in simmed games, I need a fair amount of realism but past a surface level I can live with some flaws, and as long as it happens equally on both sides i'm ok with it. In games I play, I'm thinking about a house rule where if their center chucks up a 3 then on the next possession I'll just have my center launch one. Perhaps it will bother me more over time but for right now the 2nd patch was an overall huge net positive. |

Canīt wait to try it out on the WE I had my 360 shot i thought, but then i read sth about trying it in another power plug after having it in itīs case for a month and really, i tried that at my now new home and it worked like a charme
The ridiculous thing about the 3 point issue that itīs just so damn obvious and it did occur previously. It just shouldnīt happen, period. That being said, i can live with it i guess. Going to make a test sim to see what not having player roles does in the long run. the pass-out issue being fixed will be awesome i hope. |

I played an Association game last night Cavs(me) vs. Boston and didn't see the "center shooting threes" problem. But again, it was just one game.

so, what i plan on doing to make it realistic :
1) Play Roles turned off 2) D league players edited (the generated ones at the start of the game), potential way down and also the off/def awareness (fastest way to bring down overall) so that they donīt replace a ton of NBA players and get signed to ridiculous contracts. 3) Turn off trades except for 2 weeks before the deadline 4) Trade override on to reverse stupid trades (really stupid ones) and to facilitate trades when a team f.e. has 3 starting calibre PGs but has no Center and another team has the same situation in reverse. 5) Lower perimeter star players "hustle" stat from 90s into the 80-85 range, for some reason if itīs higher the player will tire way too quickly (the CPU is basically smashing the turbo button when you donīt control them and also obviously on the oposing team) anything else to do to avoid certain glitches ? Any news on wether or not rosters created under Patch 1 are still "working" with Patch 2 ? Then again they went to extreme measures to balance out the screwed up drive/pass out logic, so that might not fly with the new Patch (resulting in literally no kick outs) . |

With the NBA season hitting it's stride, I was planning on picking this game up this weekend. I've read a few posts on here saying that the 3 point bug isn't that bad, and some over on OS that have put their games on EBay because of it.
Granted, a lot of people on OS overract on what I would consider relatively small issues, but can someone give me a feel for how the game is now? I think a lot of people would agree that this game was the runner up for "Game of the Year" after The Show, is that still the case? |

since i don't have the new patches i can't comment really Phillies, but I'd say even without the patches it was (at worst) an enjoyable game. Maybe not fit for long-term dynasties, but enjoyable.
I definitely fall in the "3 point bug wouldn't bother me" category though. Although I've never really been sold on playing with player roles on...so I might end up with them off anyways.

I wonder how many OS people put the game on eBay because Hasheem Thabeet's shoes were the wrong color.

By the way, for the certainly-well-adjusted-and-in-no-way-a-freak people who do care about Hasheem Thabeet's shoe color, I was making a joke above. In no way did I intend to seriously imply that Hasheem Thabeet's shoes were the wrong color. I do not have any evidence to accurately suggest such. Please do not put your game on eBay or go bitch on the 2K Sports forums because of my comment.
Thanks, clowns. I mean guys. Thanks, guys.

I'm sure it's just as bad, but you should check out the Community Day thread on OS for MLB10 The Show. People are allowed to ask questions and are more worried about the bill color on hats than gameplay. |

had a very promising first batch of games yesterday playing with the Thunder (- Westbrook and + Stephen Curry), very fun even though i had very little going with Durant. Need to work on his release and find a couple plays for him coming off screens and things like that.
And my defense sucked, but i did switch a good defender against a bad one at the point. Played with all default sliders, will adjust a few things the next games but on default it played better than it ever did before. So thatīs damn encouraging. The pass outs are definitely under controll, very nice to see. And the cpu rotations are better (remember, i didnīt play much at all with patch 1, so i basically compare with the base game) , you can really find open shooters upon breaking down the defense and on your own team itīs working nice as well. Had a lot of fun especially defending with Ibaka (in Nogsterīs roster set rated as a very good help defender) and rotating over to challenge shots. If i overplayed that gave guys like Marvin Williams open shots or they made the extra pass and then found an open shooter. Very rewarding and made me feel not the least bit bitter about giving up about 110 PPG in 3 games on about 50% shooting. I just didnīt play good defense yet. Gameplay is awesome now, but association is all kinds of messed up . Especially if you unselect player roles to prevent the 3 point issue ...

I'm enjoying the game quite a bit again, anyone have sliders for less than 12 minute quarters? Its just too long for me!

Whomario posted over on OS that if you turn player roles off to fix the 3 point bigman issue then the CPU team rotations get messed up. Basically they only assign their rookies to play 1 minute the entire game even if they are in the starting lineup. This recent patch is such a clusterfuck by 2k. I just set the global hustle slider to 45 and it really helped Kobe and Artest with fatigue issues, though I may still go down to 40. Others at OS have gone as low as 35 with the hustle slider and report no ill effects. I like it better for three reasons. I don't have to search out individuals to edit so it's easier and faster to do. Every player will have their ability lowered not just a select few. If I play long enough to get in a second season I won't have to edit any incoming rookies. YMMV. |

Sweed I followed your advice on the global hustle slider and like that a lot. I have it set at 43 and that's working great from what i can tell.
Question about chemistry. I'm in January of 2013 and looking at the various teams. Some have chemistry in the high 80% range, like the defending champion Thunder who are atop the West again. But a really, really large number of teams have Chemistry below 10%. I lost my starting SG and two backups to free agency but returned 4 starters that have been together for 2 1/2 seasons now... and my chemistry is at something like 8%. So, any info on how this is calculated, is it broken and better to just turn off(assuming I can?) Last edited by Radii : 02-04-2010 at 12:40 AM. |

bit of a rant
I don't rant much about games but this pissed me off.
Play association as Lakers and the Celtics @ Boston was up, cool. Waited to play the game this morning as I wanted to totally enjoy the experience without having to think about anything else. Hell, I even watched the game with all cut scenes to take in the whole thing, free throw, timeout, any break in the action was never being clicked through. Hey, you only play 'em once in Boston during the season. Move onto the game and it was back and forth, a great game. First quarter ends and I'm up 24-19. Start second qtr and Farmar passes to Artest, cuts off a Bynum screen, takes a return pass, and scores plus 1 with Rondo getting the foul. Announcers make the and 1 comment only the Celtics are taking the ball out with no FT, WTF. Ok I can live with losing a point however after the Celts score I can't bring in the ball, controller is frozen. FUCK! Pause game and yes, the controller is still set to control the Lakers. Goddamn now I have to quit and replay the game. I fucking hate doing that, especially a match up like the Celtics. I won't even be able to look at 2k for a couple of days. Replaying now only leaves me feeling cheated every play amounts to "but the last game Garnett was playing great or Gasol was dominating the middle" where the "new" game Gasol is in foul trouble and Garnett can't hit shit. Of course this couldn't happen last game when I was playing the Sixers, FUCK (again ). So I'll give it a couple of days to get out of my head and go back and be able to enjoy it. Thanks for listening |

Yeah it's the offseason, but the FA hype got me interested in firing up NBA 2k10 again, and I thought I'd check out any mods or new rosters available for it. I'm glad I did!
Couple of guys have worked together on a 1991-92 Mod for the game, and from the little I've played it today they did a fantastic job. They redid models for all the players, jerseys, logos, courts, pictures that show up for them. I'm really impressed with the models also, at least on the big name guys. They look fantastic. Here is the link to the thread for it. If you scroll down the page some you can spot a few screenshots. NBA Live Series Center • View topic - 1991-92 Roster/ 07.08 UPDATED Roster+CF's+Arenas btm pg. 1 I'm just fooling around and playing through the playoffs which is all setup in a save there, so I can check out the majority of the teams. I'm having a blast so far, but this was right in my NBA watching prime. Just thought I'd share in case anyone else was interested. It is a bit of a pain to download, because there are no mirrors, and the file service he is using doesn't allow parallel downloads, but it is well worth the hassle. Setup is incredibly simple, but it will basically overwrite your game, so backup if you want, you're just strictly copying and overwriting a mass of files. Would love to see an '85 or so mod as well. |
