The Sign of the Squid burns brightly all night, its power being focused by any
number of beings this evening. As the sun rises, you immediately realize one among you is no longer. PurdueBrad is found, his true Elemental form shining through. Well, not really shining. You have to be alive to shine. He's, well...not. He does, however, have a tasty bowl of fresh calamari beside him, which you all enjoy as a tasty treat before going back to your business for the day. The wise ones report that today shall be under the Sign of the Yak. Oh, Holy Yak, May You Grant Us Freedom and Power! Oh, Holy Yak, Guide Us With Your Wisdom! Oh, Holy Yak, Make Us Bricks! |

I'll throw this out there now. I sensed a presence in my room last night and was definantly visited.

I didn't use my ability (would've been silly to).
What about scan abilities? Any reason those who use that shouldn't just come forward? They wouldn't really invite a night kill as it's likely a 1-time use anyhow. |

I think that if anyone used their scanning ability last night they should give us the info. As you said, it's a one shot deal, so they're not going to be a kill target. |

Also, I was a target last night - I'm not sure what ritual was used towards/against me but someone should have learned ... well, something, I guess.

So here are two candidates to have altered Cronin's powers. No idea if that was with good/ill intent, but Cronin's powers being altered didn't stop Team Avatar from killing PurdueBrad last night. |

OK, after re-reading SnDvls post I laughed pretty hard. I don't think I gain too much by trying to lay the trap that I was initially so I'll just lay the cards on the table. I summoned an ethereal servant to view SnDvls. I told CoffeeWarlord that I was naming my servant "Ardent Enthusiast". I'm guessing this is why SnDvls saw the ghost in orange I saw SnDvls direct his "change power" option at Cronin. So SnDvls was not the killer last night and he used the power that he said he had - both points in his favor, from where I sit. |

I find it interesting that it is Hoops who is claiming to clear sndvls.

JE, SnDvls would be a better person than me to answer this question since I know he was visited by my ethereal servant. He has a better idea of what the PM of a "visited" person looks like than I do as the sender.
Also, if someone else would like - at a point in the game where they feel it adds value, not necessarily now - to admit to having the same "Ethereal Servant" power that I do I'll be happy to question them about some particulars on that ability. I would be pretty surprised if the Avatars have this power in their bag of tricks. This would hopefully help me and another player/players build trust at some point. |

I'm clearing him of being the killer last night, not of being an Avatar. But I trust him more than most in the game at this point. He will almost certainly not be my vote today. Should I have used this ability on another player, Lathum? If so, who? I'm interested in hearing your Thursday-morning-QB thoughts on the matter. |

It's just a little to convienient for me. You save sndvls last night at the last minute and condem Pass ( an elemental) then you happen to hit the 25% chance that you could scan someone and sndvls comes up good. |

SnDvls, I'm interested in hearing what impact you had on Cronin since we (well, I) know that you used your power against him.
Lathum, I'll answer any questions that you have about my vote last night, my use of powers last night, or whatever else comes to mind. Does it sound like your visitor last night was an "ethereal servant", similar to the one I sent to check on SnDvls, or do you think you had something different? |

I tenatively trust hoops and sndvls more.
Cronin? With his seemingly constant backtracking? Not so much. Vote cronin |

something different. no details were given about my visitor.
I just think you guys are playig a convienient game. Now no one is going to want to "waste" a scan on either of you for a while. |

Clap, Ardent Enthusiast is a former member of the FOFC community. He played in a number of werewolf games over the last couple of years. He is a serious, serious fan of the Tennesse Volunteers. If you do a search for this poster on FOFC you will find ample examples of this.
Both Coffee Warlord and I have met him in person (as have Barkeep and Passacaglia) so it was an amusing joke for me to make with the Warlord when sending in my orders. Lathum, I can't control how people see fit to use their powers. I'm OK with people using them on me to build trust if that is what they think is the best move. It is an individual decision if that is a "wasted" scan. I would prefer they try to find Avatars, but everyone gets to play their own game with incomplete information. |

SnDvls, I have a 3/1 split with three nighttime actions and one daytime action. So 2/1 remaining in play.
Assuming that the logic of using this as a validator is now gone (I think it is, based on late-breaking feedback last night) I'm hoping other people won't feel the need to divulge this information. But I'll give you the "quid pro quo" on this since I pushed you last night on the topic. |

Actions last night:
SnDvls - altered Cronin's actions Hoopsguy - sent ethereal servant (Ardent Enthusiast) to check out SnDvls ???? - performed a ritual on/at Hoopsguy ???? - presence/visit of Lathum Anyone else have actions performed on them or by them to report? Because at some point we need to start drawing some voting conclusions for today. |

Unless someone comes forward with new information Hoopsguy is 100% my vote.
IMO it makes the most sense. We would find out about sndvls plus hoops has already used one of his powers. |

you actually wouldn't find out about either of us unless we have some confirmation that the Avatars don't have 4 powers like us. if hoops is bad that doesn't automatically clear anyone until we get a lot more information. Same with me as there isn't enough information out there to go on. If you are voting hoops right now after we're only 2 hours into day 2 on the limited info we have you are making a mistake IMO. You are making a huge jump this early in the game. |

I'll work on it throughout the day. But I'm going to wait another hour or two to see if we get some new information. For better or worse, you'll know where I stand with plenty of time to react, dispute, question, and maybe even agree . |

Which isn't to say that SnDvls and Hoops wouldn't do it, but I think it's a stretch to focus on it so heavily D2. In effect you're willing to say that you're willing to sacrafice one person to clear one other person. That doesn't seem like a good trade. We start talking about sacraficing one person to see about 2 players and I might be convinced. But this one for one just doesn't do it for me.

that logic is flawed. We have to sacrifice SOMEONE, don't we? may as well sacrifice someone we could potentialy gain info from who has already used one of their powers. |

Sure we have to sacrafice someone. I just think that hoops is slightly less likely, on the whole, to be an avatar based on recent events. Cronin? He's seemed quite suspicious to me and I'd be happy to see him sacraficed. Even better, I'm willing to commit to voting hoops if cronin turns up guilty.
