Week 5: #7 Idaho (2-0) at Louisiana-Monroe (1-2)
Louisiana-Monroe had been one of the better teams in the Sun Belt recently and actually beat us for the Conference title just a couple seasons ago. But they're no longer that team and we dispatch them pretty easily. Code:
QB Strickland 23-30-362-5-0 WR Lawler 8-125-2 WR Harmon 4-84-2 DE Carpenter 5 tackles, 3 sacks CB Austin 5 tackles, 1 assist, 1 INT *New Recruits: WR JJ Pasto - #327 Overall, #19 WR OLB Hunter Hormel - #556 Overall, #33 OLB *UCLA beats Arizona 41-10. *We are now 5th in the BCS and 6th in the Coaches Poll.

Week 6: Arkansas State (1-2) at #6 Idaho (3-0)
Arkansas State sucks. We held them to 90 total yards and put up 511 total yards. Strickland rests early. Code:
QB Strickland 12-22-208-2-1 RB Barnes 19-105-1 WR Weingrad 9-145-3 WR Lawler 7-123-1 OLB Colwell 4 tackles, 2 assists, 2 sacks CB Leiter 1 tackle, 1 INT, 1 TD *We lose our other starting DT Grady Woodson, but thankfully it's just for a couple weeks. *New Recruits: G Jimmy Hawkins - #128 Overall, #13 G DT Les Wright - #743 Overall, #53 DT

Week 7: #7 Idaho (4-0) at North Texas (2-3)
Our offense really struggles in the first half, being forced into three punts and a turnover on downs. We only manage one TD and it's a surprising 7-7 tie at the half. We finally get it together in the 2nd half, scoring 3 TD's in our next 4 drives, and North Texas can't keep up. Code:
QB Strickland 26-38-316-5-0 RB Barnes 22-72-0, 5-58-0 WR Weingrad 7-107-1 WR Lawler 6-84-2 ILB Newman 7 tackles, 1 assit *New Recruits: WR Cory Dawkins - #29 Overall, #1 WR S AJ Gold - #628 Overall, #32 S *We are still 6th in the Coaches Poll, but have moved up to 4th in the BCS. *Arizona avoids a winless season with a 20-14 victory over Washington State.

Week 8: Louisiana-Lafayette (1-4) at #6 Idaho (5-0)
We get off to another slow start. Strickland throws 3 INT's and one of them was returned for a TD, giving Lafayette a 21-14 lead in the 2nd quarter. However, finally get it together, thanks to a huge day from Barnes, and score 42 unanswered points to pull away. Code:
QB Strickland 18-29-331-6-3 RB Barnes 25-201-1, 5-63-2 WR Weingrad 6-88-1 WR Lawler 5-72-3 *New Recruits: QB Claude Lannen - #12 Overall, #1 QB RB Korey Colclough - #113 Overall, #12 RB C Emmitt Patton - #142 Overall, #9 C DE Herb Schroeder - #573 Overall, #65 DE ILB Bernie Kristosik - #695 Overall, #37 ILB *This game was brutal to our depth chart. Our Kicker Irving Johnson is out for the rest of the season. We also lose backup DT Gerald Meier. Both starting DE's are listed as Doubtful. *We are 5th in Coaches and BCS now. *Arizona almost pulls off back to back Pac 10 victories, but falls to Stanford 41-35. *Backup Safety AJ Almon commits a violation of team rules. My rule is to always suspend in these situations. We'll see if he departs the team next year.

Week 9: New Mexico State (1-5) at #5 Idaho (6-0)
It's another easy victory for us as New Mexico State is hopelessly outmatched. They manage only 173 total yards, less than our own RB Scott Barnes gained by himself. Code:
QB Strickland 12-18-187-4-0 RB Barnes 22-183-0, 3-43-1 RB Crangle 12-76-1, 3-29-0 TE Springer 4-56-1 WR Lawler 2-68-1 *New Recruits: T Neil Evans - #13 Overall, #3 T CB Oliver Ratan - #515 Overall, #32 CB *Arizona beats Oregon State 24-21 for their 2nd win of the season. Can they get their 3rd for the first time in this dynasty?

Week 11: #45 Middle Tennessee State (5-2) at #5 Idaho (7-0)
Middle Tennessee State is having a good season and they give our offense fits for most of the game. We end up with one of our lowest yardage outputs of the season, but our defense completely dominates. Their running game is nonexistent and we pick off their QB 5 times. Code:
QB Strickland 17-28-221-4-2 RB Barnes 19-74-0, 2-26-0 WR Weingrad 3-41-3 *Strickland is still listed as Questionable. He's been playing through an injury this whole season. *USC beats Arizona 27-14. *We have moved up to #2 in the BCS rankings! Can we hold on to that? Notre Dame is #1, with Texas A&M and Auburn right behind us. *The stupid Coaches have us in 4th.

Week 12: #4 Idaho (8-0) at #35 Troy (6-3)
Troy has had a surprisingly good season and they play a spirited game against us. After we take a 10-0 lead, they hold us on both of our 2nd quarter drives to keep the game at 10-3 going into the half. They actually held the ball for 36 minutes in this one, but it wasn't enough to stop our quick strike offense. Strickland is responsible for all 3 of our 2nd half TD's and Troy cannot put any more points on the board. Code:
QB Strickland 16-23-331-3-0, 5-33-1 WR Lawler 5-99-1 WR Harmon 2-46-2 S Schwartz 10 tackles, 5 assists *Notre Dame lost and we are now ranked #1 in the BCS rankings! Behind us is: #2 Bowling Green (9-0), #3 Notre Dame (9-1) and #4 Cal (9-1). *More bad news. We lose Starting ILB Jack Newman due to a Torn Achilles Tendon. *Washington beats Arizona 52-3. *We have yet another player commit

Week 13: #1 Idaho (9-0) at Utah State (4-5)
Another thorough dismantling of a Sun Belt team. Strickland doesn't have to do much here as Barnes leads the way with 199 yards rushing. Utah State is held to 155 total yards and 5 1st downs. Code:
QB Strickland 15-24-237-2-0 RB Barnes 25-199-2, 2-27-0 WR Harmon 4-84-1 S Schwartz 8 tackles, 1 assist OLB Ellison 3 tackles, 2 assists, 2 sacks *We retain the #1 ranking. Cal beats USC and moves ahead of still unbeaten Bowling Green. *The SEC has fallen on hard times, so much so that Alabama and Auburn are both undefeated heading into the Iron Bowl, but only ranked 14th and 5th, respectively.

Week 14: #1 Idaho (10-0) at #44 Boise State (5-5)
Boise State has been having their worst season in a long time and they're not able to turn the tide against us. With a national title appearance at stake, Strickland has his best game of the season, throwing TD's on his first 4 drives of the game. After a brief mistake with an INT, he leads on two more scoring drives before the half to make it a 38-7 lead at halftime. We coast through the 2nd half for an easy victory against our one time nemesis. Code:
QB Strickland 25-33-511-6-1 RB Barnes 17-82-0, 5-129-1 WR Harmon 8-129-2 WR Weingrad 4-95-2 WR Lawler 4-73-1 DE Linquist 3 tackles, 2 sacks *Auburn won the Iron Bowl and it was good enough to move them into 2nd in the BCS Rankings. They have a conference championship game, as do #3 Texas and #5 Bowling Green. While we finished #1, there's still a lot of movement that can happen next week. If all those teams win, we could very well fall out of the title game.

*#2 Auburn beats #29 Florida 38-20 in the SEC Championship. * #8 Kansas State beats #3 Texas 34-28 in a wild Big 12 Championship game that went into OT. *#6 Bowling Green beats #24 UCF 48-20 in the MAC Championship game. *Despite my nervousness, none of it ended up mattering. Auburn remained in 2nd, Bowling Green moved up to 4th, Kansas State moved up to 5th. *That means we finish the year ranked #1 and will play in the National Championship!

2014 National Championship: #2 Auburn (12-0) vs. Idaho (11-0)
Drive by Drive account: Auburn - They win the toss and elect to receive. After a gutsy call in going for it on 4th down, they manage to drive to our 24 yard line and settle for a FG. Auburn 3, Idaho 0. (6:55 1st) Idaho - We pick up three first downs and then Barnes breaks free on the left side for a 43 yard TD run. Idaho 7, Auburn 3. (4:44 1st) Auburn - Auburn converts three third downs on this drive, with a nice balance of passing and running before scoring on a TD pass on 3rd and goal from the 2. Auburn 10, Idaho 7 (13:41 2nd) Idaho - Strickland picks up 1st down, but a sack puts us into 3rd and long, which we're unable to convert. Ackerman punts and they get it at their 25. (10:01 2nd) Auburn - After two 1st downs, a penalty puts them into a 1st and 26 situation. Three plays later and it's 4th and 13 at our 36 yard line. In one of the most curious calls of the game, they call for a run up the middle. It does catch us off guard, but they still only gain 12 yards and the ball goes over on downs. (6:58 2nd) Idaho - After a 1st down, a penalty and a sack leaves us with a 3rd and 18 situation at our own 27. Strickland manages to get the ball to Harmon for a 20 yard completion. On the very next play, Barnes gets to the corner and speeds down the sideline for a 52 yard TD. Idaho 14, Auburn 10 (3:49 2nd) Auburn - A three and out forces Auburn to punt from their own 17. Lawler gets the punt at midfield and returns it 13 yards to the Auburn 37. (2:40 2nd) Idaho - Strickland finds Lawler for a 30 yard completion down to the Auburn 7. On the next play, Strickland runs a draw up the middle for a 7 yard TD. Idaho 21, Auburn 10 (2:02 2nd) Auburn - Another three and out forces another Auburn punt. Carpenter blocks the punt and Ellison recovers it at the Auburn 2 yard line. (00:34 2nd) Idaho - Barnes gets into the end zone for a 2 yard TD run. Idaho 28, Auburn 10. (00:28 2nd) Auburn - Auburn doesn't have enough time to get into range for another score. Halftime. Idaho - Austin has a nice return to give us the ball at our own 40 yard line. We convert a 3rd and 15 and a 4th and 6 on the way to Strickland throwing a 4 yard TD pass. Idaho 35, Auburn 10. (8:12 3rd) Auburn - Another three and out. The punt is caught at the Idaho 42 yard line. (6:57 3rd) Idaho - Strickland converts two 1st downs, then finds Weingrad for a 31 yard completion down to the 2. Then Barnes takes it in from the 2 for another TD. Idaho 42, Auburn 10. (3:55 3rd) Auburn - Starting from the 20, they fumble after a 3 yard run and we recover at the Auburn 23. (2:34 3rd) Idaho - Barnes runs for 10 yards and then Strickland finds Lawler in the end zone for a 13 yard TD. Idaho 49, Auburn 10. (3:04 3rd) Auburn - Another 3 and out. Punt fair caught at our own 46. (0:30 3rd) Idaho - Auburn finally gets a stop and forces a three and out. They return the punt to their own 38. (14:12 4th) Auburn - Auburn finally puts another drive together, converting 3rd and 11 and a 3rd and 4 along the way. A 5 yard TD run gives them their first points since the 1st quarter. Idaho 49, Auburn 17. (9:25 4th) Idaho - With a huge lead, we insert backup QB Seth Caswell into the game. And he promptly throws an INT on his 2nd pass attempt. It's returned 26 yards to our 29 yard line. (8:01 4th) Auburn - They're only able to gain a few yards and have to settle for a 41 yard FG. I don't know how you don't go for it on 4th and 5 here. Idaho 49, Auburn 20. (7:13 4th) Idaho - Caswell regroups from his INT and leads a 70 yard TD drive anding in a 14 yard TD pass to Springer. Idaho 56, Auburn 20. (4:02 4th) Auburn - Our defense caught celebrating a little early and Auburn's RB breaks through for a 54 yard TD run. Idaho 56, Auburn 27 (1:44 4th) Idaho - We pick up a 1st down and then are able to run out the clock. Final Score: Idaho 56, Auburn 27 We did it! We did it!

Wow! Congratulations!
Was seriously surprised by your domination of Michigan at the start of the year. After that, it was off to the races. What really surprised me was your defense -really shut down a lot of offenses. It seems you changed your philosophy with running the ball over time. I was thinking that passing as much as you did may have exacerbated some of the defensive failings early on - since your offense generally wasn't running time off the clock. Anyway - great season, and it's been fun to watch the process. What's next?

Thanks for following!
The big change to my running game was in the previous season when Newsome went down. Strickland was still very green, so I upped the running percentages to help him out. Since he still put up big numbers, and my RB's began to play very well, I never thought about changing it back. I also changed the running direction percentages. I used to just rely on the AI recommendations, but I began to notice that it overemphasized running behind the Center. I changed it to focus more on outside running to take advantage of the high Breakaway Running ratings my guys had, and it really paid off. The defense definitely performed better than I expected. I still had some big holes there, especially at DE and LB, but I managed to keep my Secondary strong, important for the defensive philosophy. And using that philosophy meant I didn't need all-world corners, but just guys who specialized in Man to Man defense. As for what to do next, I was thinking of turning the coach movement on to high and see if I get any offers. I think it would be fun to take over Arizona at this point and see if I can turn them around.

Now to review the 2009 recruiting class, our graduating seniors who brought us a national title.
Code:
Cason - Solid 4 year starter who was maxed out at pass blocking in his Senior year. Hitchcock - Took a while to develop and thus didn't start until his Senior year. Had a solid season, only allowing 4 sacks in 303 pass plays. Weingrad - Started off way down the depth chart and slowly moved his way up. Started a few games as Sophomore and Junior, then the whole season as a Senior. Caught 100 passes for 1694 yards, and 24 TD in his career. Crangle - Found himself in the position of not being as good as the RB who came before him (Young) and the RB who came after him (Barnes). Only started 4 games in his career, but had some nice moments as a backup. Finished with 2027 yards rushing and 27 TD, with 61 catches for 642 yards, and 6 TD in his career. Drake - Started as a Freshman and played well, but found himself behind other, better Centers later in his career. Tackett - Our WR corps is deep and Tackett struggled to find playing time amongst all the talent. Finished with 29 catches, 478 yards, and 7 TD in his career. Springer - Didn't start until Senior year, where he earned 1st Team All-Conference honors with 25 catches, 340 yards, and 3 TD. Carpenter - Pass rush specialist who alternated between being the startoing DE and the passing downs DE. Finished with 32.5 sacks and 37 TFL in his career. Had a big punt block in the national title game. Hollis - Two year starter whose Senior season was cut short after two games due to a concussion. Finished with 63 tackles, 10 sacks, and 26 TFL. Colwell - Started 19 games in 4 years. Was a decent, but unspectacular performer. Finished career with 84 tackles, 24 assists, 10.5 sacks, and 23 TFL. Austin - 4 year starter who was a solid cover corner and made All-Conference 2nd team the last three seasons. Finished career with 11 INT, 2 TD, and 41 Passes Defended. Gibson - Never made the starting lineup in 4 seasons. Finished career with 5 INT, 13 Passes Defensed. Schwartz - Three year starter who was great at coming up to stop the run and actually was the leading tackler as a Senior. Finished career with 195 Tackles, 69 assists, 32 TFL, 4 INT, and 30 Passes Defensed. Also of note is ILB Jack Newman, part of the 2010 class, but who played as a true Freshman. He was a two year starter who never quite matched up to our previous great ILB's Newton and Brutley. Finished with 135 tackles, 46 assists, 13 TFL, and 2 INT.

The Arizona job didn't come open yet, so I will try to repeat and look again next season.
DE Conrad Arteaga was inducted in the Idaho Hall of Fame. He did not make the Overall Hall. Looking at Roster Strength rankings, our squad looks even better than last season, although we still have some big holes. 2015 Idaho Vandals...
This squad will be put to the test right away. I've scheduled both #7 Texas and #2 Michigan to start the year. BCS Rank: 6th Coaches Poll: 6th Recruiting Ranking: 7th Code:
Strickland looks better every year. Lannen and Caswell will battle for the job after Strickland leaves. Code:
Kleinsasser is a great #2 option at RB. Colclough is not the future. Code:
Lawler is probably the best WR we've had yet. We have incredible depth here once again. Code:
Another great group with a slight weakness at RT again. Code:
Code:
Other than Woodson, this is a major weakness that could cause some problems this year. Code:
My ILB's are really weak, so I'll be playing Raphael at ILB. Code:
Not quite as good as previous years, but still the strength of my defense.

Week 1: #7 Texas (0-0) at #6 Idaho (0-0)
The season gets off to a great start as Strickland throws a 69 yard TD pass to Harmon on the first play from scrimmage. The next drive, Snyder picks off a Texas pass and it takes us 2 plays to make it 14-0. Texas is able to get a FG on the board, but Strickland immediately leads us on a TD drive to make it 21-3 in the 1st quarter. Seemingly all hope for Texas was lost when they fumble the ensuing kickoff and Barnes runs it in on the very next play for a 28-3 lead. Our offense puts up 38 pts in the 1st half and coasts to a 59-20 victory. Code:
QB Strickland 18-25-396-5-1 RB Barnes 15-46-3, 1-9-0 WR Lawler 5-140-3 WR O'Donnell 6-102-1 WR Harmon 2-77-1 S Flynn 7 tackles, 3 assists *Texas actually ran the ball well against us, likely due to our terrible DL, but t heir starting QB only completed 3 of 20 passes for 50 yards.

Week 2: #2 Idaho (1-0) at #22 Michigan (0-0)
Michigan actually got a stop on our first series of the game, but then managed to fumble the punt return. We recover at 31 and score 2 plays later. We score twice more to take a 21-0 lead before Michigan finally gets on the board to keep it competitive at a two score game. However, they self-destruct at the end of the half, allowing us to score 10 pts in the final 38 seconds due to a big punt return and an INT. Another INT early in the 3rd leads to our 5th TD of the game and an insurmountable 38-7 lead. Code:
QB Strickland 27-35-357-6-0 RB Barnes 19-75-0, 8-41-0 WR O'Donnell 6-86-2 WR Rypien 4-95-1 S Montgomery 9 tackles, 1 assist S Shapiro 2 tackles, 3 assists, 1 INT CB Snyder 2 tackles, 1 INT *Strickland is named Offensive Player of the Week for his performance. *This win moves us up to #1 in the BCS rankings, but we are still 5th in the Coaches Poll. *Louisiana-Monroe beats Arizona 59-14.

Week 6: #3 Idaho (2-0) at Arkansas State (0-3)
Surprisingly only 10-0 after the 1st quarter, but we continue to build points throughout the game with a balanced attack and Arkansas State can't do anything. Code:
QB Strickland 13-16-198-2-0 RB Barnes 19-120-1, 1-6-0 WR Lawler 6-112-2 WR O'Donnell 5-71-0 WR Rypien 4-63-1 CB Snyder 4 tackles, 2 assists, 1 INT, 1 TD OLB Eyer 2 tackles, 1 INT, 1 TD DT Woodson 3 tackles, 1 assist, 1.5 sacks *New Recruit: T Terry Haitsuka - #226 Overall, #26 T *UCLA beats Arizona 55-0. *We move to 4th BCS and 2nd Coaches.

Week 7: New Mexico State (1-3) at #2 Idaho (3-0)
New Mexico State is terrible and can't do much. The only news here is Scottie Strickland suffered an injury and had to leave the game. Caswel came in and played well in relief. Code:
QB Caswell 13-19-249-3-1 QB Strickland 6-8-115-2-0 RB Barnes 15-82-1, 3-41-1 WR Harmon 3-111-2 S Montgomery 5 tackles, 2 assists, 1 INT ILB Ellison 2 tackles, 1 INT *Strickland is still listed as doubtful (for 2 weeks), but we have our toughest Sun Belt game coming up, against undefeated (and #22) Troy. *New Recruits: P Gerald Brush - #7 Overall, #1 P (How good would a Punter have to be to get this kind of ranking?) RB Nolan Kimrin - #87 Overall, #8 RB K Antoine Joyner - #197 Overall, #4 K CB Monty Colacino - #722 Overall, #51 CB *We are #2 in both Coaches and BCS. *Washington State beats Arizona 44-7.

Week 8: #20 Troy (5-0) at #2 Idaho (4-0)
I knew someone would take advantage of our terrible DL at some point, and it happened in a game where Strickland wasn't at his best. Our defense chokes a 20-9 4th quarter lead and Strickland is intercepted in OT. We lose our first Sun Belt game in three seasons. Troy had 254 yards rushing. Code:
QB Strickland 13-30-178-2-2 RB Barnes 23-100-0, 3-28-1 ILB Ellison 10 tackles, 4 assists *New Recruits: G Hardy Rivera - #30 Overall, #6 G WR Ray Slavin - #160 Overall, #14 WR DE Leland Jackson - #604 Overall, #69 DE S Randy Hunter - #789 Overall, #45 S *We fall to #7 BCS, #11 coaches. *California beats Arizona 51-7

Week 9: #11 Idaho (4-1) at North Texas (2-4)
North Texas manages some big plays to put points on the board against us, but Strickland rebounds with a terrific game to get us back in the win column. Code:
QB Strickland 21-31-381-4-0 RB Barnes 12-76-1 WR Lawler 5-102-1 DT Woodson 5 tackles, 2 assists, 1 sack *New Recruits: G Tyrell Preston - #53 Overall, #10 G WR Bennie Dunlap - #81 Overall, #5 WR C Lance Surratt - #127 Overall, #8 C *We move to 7th BCS and 8th Coaches. *Washington beats Arizona 31-15. Might be another winless season for them.

Week 10: #8 Idaho (5-1) at Louisiana-Lafayette (0-6)
Louisiana-Lafayette sucks and we sleepwalk to an easy victory. Code:
QB Strickland 28-39-426-3-0 RB Barnes 23-128-1, 3-17-1 WR O'Donnell 7-148-2 WR Harmon 6-81-0 WR Lawler 6-77-0 TE Warren 5-103-0 CB Snyder 4 tackles, 1 INT DE Cole 2 tackles, 2 sacks. *New Recruits: ILB Gus Jasper - #816 Overall, #41 ILB DT Kyle Tatum - #853 Overall, #54 DT *We are 7th BCS, 6th Coaches. Troy is still undefeated and ranked 14th BCS, 17th Coaches. *Oregon State beats Arizona 20-10

Week 11: #6 Idaho (6-1) at Utah State (3-4)
Strickland is forced to leave the game in the 2nd quarter with a Strained Knee Ligament. We look lost without him and it's only a 13-10 game entering the 4th quarter. Caswell leads three scoring drives in the 4th quarter to preserve the lead and the defense shuts down Utah State. Code:
QB Caswell 9-13-134-1-0 QB Strickland 7-13-103-1-1 RB Barnes 21-126-0 WR O'Donnell 4-71-1 WR Lawler 4-70-0 ILB Ellison 9 tackles, 1 assist OLB Raphael 8 tackles, 5 assist, 1 sack *Strickland will miss 6 weeks, ending any Heisman hopes. *We also lose two of our backup DT's, while starting DT Grady Woodson is listed as Doubtful. Sheesh. *New Recruit: OLB Larry Lane - #639 Overall, #32 OLB *We move up to 4th in the BCS rankings, 6th in Coaches. *USC beats Arizona 59-6

Week 12: Middle Tennessee State (1-7) at #6 Idaho (7-1)
Caswell struggles a bit in his 1st start. While he does throw 4 TD's, he also throws a pair of picks and has accuracy issues all day. Thankfully, Middle Tennessee State is terrible and Barnes had a huge day running the ball. Code:
QB Caswell 17-33-293-4-2 RB Barnes 22-158-0, 2-17-0 WR Harmon 5-137-3 WR O'Donnell 6-82-1 S Shapiro 5 tackles, 1 assist, 1 INT CB Snyder 4 tackles, 2 assists, 1 INT DE Hatcher 2 tackles, 1 assist, 2 sacks. *We close out what is certainly our best recruiting class yet with: QB Heath Port - #11 Overall, #1 QB *Stanford beats Arizona 31-6. *We drop to 6th in the BCS Rankings and move up to 5th in the Coaches Poll.

Week 13: Louisiana-Monroe (4-6) at #5 Idaho (8-1)
Louisiana-Monroe is able to put lots of points on the board due to a pick six and several other big plays. It's only 17-14 at the end of the 1st quarter. But Caswell regroups from the pick six and has a huge game, and Louisiana-Monroe is unable to cover WR Tyrus O'Donnell. Code:
QB Caswell 29-47-505-6-3 RB Barnes 19-117-3, 6-70-1 WR O'Donnell 10-203-4 WR Harmon 4-76-1 WR Rypien 4-90-0 DE Cole 6 tackles, 1 assist, 3 sacks DE Hatcher 2 tackles, 2 sacks. *Troy wins and thus clinches the Sun Belt title. *We are 6th in BCS and 4th in Coaches Poll. *Injuries are just ridiculous at this point. We have 6 people listed as Probable, 1 Questionable, 3 Doubtful, and 2 Out. *Stanford beats Arizona 31-6

Week 14: Boise State (4-6) at #4 Idaho (9-1)
Boise actually limits our running game, but their offense can only manage 159 total yards and Caswell takes advantage of the short fields with 5 TD passes. Code:
QB Caswell 16-21-264-5-1 WR Rypien 9-155-3 WR Harmon 7-100-1 WR O'Donnell 5-63-2 OLB Raphael 8 tackles, 1 assist *We have moved back up to 4th in the BCS rankings. Close, but no cigar. #3 Kansas State has a game remaining but #2 USC and #1 Boston College do not. *Arizona completes a winless season with a 49-3 loss at Arizona State. *We lose JC Lawler, one of the best WR's in the country, to the Repetitive Concussion Syndrome injury. He's only a Junior, but his career is over.

*Kansas State beats Texas in the Big 12 title game and that is enough to move them to #2 to face #1 Boston College in the title game. *We finished 4th in the BCS and will play in the Sugar Bowl against Florida. *Troy finished their season undefeated, but their terrible OOC schedule means they're still relegated to the Marino Bowl.

#10 Florida (11-1) vs. #3 Idaho (10-1)
The Sugar Bowl Strickland returns from injury to lead us to an easy victory over the Gators. We hold Florida to 159 total yards and our average field position is our Own 44. We take advantage of short fields to quickly pull away and built a 31-3 halftime lead. Code:
QB Strickland 15-26-282-3-0 WR Rypien 7-161-1 RB Kleinsasser 7-32-1, 3-56-1 OLB Ellison 5 tackles, 3 assists, 1 sack, 1 INT DT Woodson 4 tackles, 2 assists, 1 sack
