There was talk of the Jets trading up to get him.

Has Arizona shown any interest in him? If not, if the Eagles don't take him the Jets can just wait til he falls into their laps.

Not that I think Smith is worth the pick, he takes too long to make decisions with the ball.

Jets need to figure out how to get rid of the Sanchez/Tebow circus.

From the ESPN Draft chat:

I wonder if Sanchez has the same look on his face right now that Geno had in the green room yesterday.

Geno Smith went where it was realistic, not higher like he and his handlers deluded themselves into thinking.

Why? Sanchez gets his eight million either way.

That was actually their weakest position, though they really need some pass rushing defensive ends somewhere

Having watched both Lacy and Bell, there's no way I pick Bell first.

I love the Packers pick. Lacy is one of the more enjoyable backs to watch run.

They are the best of the best at this.

Cowboys are turning straight into the Raiders of the the last 15 years. Jones has proven time and again he has no real clue regarding talent.

This is coming from the Pittsburgh talking heads, so take this all with a grain of salt. Could be trying to paint a nice picture for the hometown team.

Two things they said regarding taking Bell over Lacy, both related.

Lacy had 1 year as the starter, and still split time with Yeldon. Prior to that, he was behind Richardson, and to start, Ingram/Richardson. And he came out of that one season beat up. What's he going to be like in the NFL?

Additionally, and this came up NFL Network too, he was not finishing drills during his Pro Day and "couldn't do it medically"

If I had a plane load, just one plane load, of whatever the Falcons brass has been smoking in order to draft another CB from Directional State U over Eddie Lacy, I could retire to my own island. That has to have been some goooood shit.

CB are much more valuable than a RB that will be out of the NFL in four years. Oh that's right, he's from the Deep South so he has to be great.

Mayock had Sio Moore 64th so appropriate value and he's a decent pass rusher, so not bad. Overall still the best draft the Raiders have had in years.

But then again, a 4-year RB is certainly better than a 1-yr DB.

Lacy + Rogers > Steven "I Was Thinking About Retiring" Jackson aka Michael Turner 2.0

Not a fan of Mathieu saying "everything was taken away from me." He's said some good things as well, but I'm not sure if he understands who was to blame for his problems.

After reading this, I think he's trying to figure it out.
I don't like his odds of doing so without another disaster, but I do think he wishes he understood it all.

Reading that article, something about him reminded me of Mike Tyson a bit.

My random guess: Houston takes him late 3rd or 4th. Denver could be interesting too.

I'm a sucker for redemption stories, so I hope he turns things or has turned things around. It seems that AZ is a good fit for him.

Yeah, I see his combine was subpar. Lacy has less miles on him due to being rotated and his running style gives him a chance of less wear since he spins quite a bit. It's hard to really compare them since Lacy rotated and was on a vastly superior team. Bell would of put up some nice numbers if MSU had anything of a passing game. He just seems like a paint by the numbers power back.
