6’ 3” Ginsberg – misses – hits the bar on the way up Ketola – miss – first attempt is sloppy, arms and legs failing knock bar off Rambis Jr - Pass Babson – Miss – Just can’t quite get his calves over the bar Honcho – clears – again easily over this height Ginsberg – misses – fails to get his hips over Ketola – miss – almost a rerun of his first attempt Babson – Clears – brushes his calves again, but the bar just wobbles it doesn’t fall… Ginsberg – clears – adrenalin pushes him to clear by half a foot Ketola - Pass Last edited by Breeze : 08-18-2015 at 02:29 PM. |

6' 4" Ginsberg – Pass Ketola – Pass Nielsen – Miss – just slightly off, clips the bar and it bounce off the stand Rambis Jr – miss – not quite high enough…need just a touch more spring. Babson – miss – too far from the bar at takeoff Honcho - pass Nielsen– clear – gets over the second time with a couple inches to spare Rambis Jr – miss – injury appears to be hampering him, as again he just doesn’t get enough lift. Babson – clears – nice jump just clears the bar with about an inch to spare. Rambis Jr – miss – tries for the 3rd time at this height and much like the last two…just not enough spring Rambis Jr finishes with a height of 6’ 2” |

6' 5" Ginsberg – Pass Ketola – miss – coming off two misses at 6' 3", Ketola crowds the bar on the approach and hits it on the way up. Bafou – clear – textbook jump Palmeiro – clear – clears it by a mile…was probably good for 7’ Nielsen – pass Mighty – miss – was clearly not going to make it early in this one. Too far from the bar at takeoff. Babson – miss – not even close, hits the bar with his shoulders Honcho – miss – chopped feet on approach so no chance to get the lift needed. A shame because both of him previous jumps were probably above this height Mighty – Clears – easily up and over… Babson – miss – even worse, this jump might not have cleared 6’ Babson - announces he’s finished Honcho – pass Ketola finishes with a height of 6’ 2” Babson finishes with a height of 6’ 4” Last edited by Breeze : 08-18-2015 at 03:09 PM. |

6' 7" Ginsberg – Pass Schaplowsky – miss – heal clips the bar, it wobbles and falls Bafou – Clears – again a text book approach Palmiero – Miss – needed only about 1 more inch to clear Nielsen – Pass Path – miss - bumps the bar hard with hips Mighty – miss – something was off on the jump - never really got into position Honcho – Pass Jordan – Clears – this time it’s close, but he still gets over the bar Schaplowsky – clears – nice jump clears the bar Palmiero – Miss – came up that same inch short Peltonen – Clears – might have gotten over the bar a 7’ with that effort Mighty – Pass Path – Clears – better lift on the second attempt gets him over the bar Palmiero – Miss – approach was off so the jump never had a chance - and that's his 3rd straight miss Palmiero fininshes with a height of 6’ 5” |

6’ 8” Ginsberg – Pass Schaplowsky – miss – hits the bar on the way down Nielsen – miss – really goes after this one…jumps and he’s crowded the bar and hits it on the way up. Mighty – Pass Honcho – Pass Path - Pass Jordan – Miss – to far from the bar at take off Schaplowsky – miss – crowds the bar too much and hits it on the way up Jordan – miss – terrible effort approach was so bad he probably shouldn’t even have tried to jump Peltonen – clear – again might have been good with a 7’ jump Schaplowsky – miss – he’s up, over and hits the bar on the way down, bringing it with him. Bafou – Pass Jordan – Miss – another bad effort Nielsen finishes with a height of 6’ 4” Schaplowsky finishes with a height of 6’ 7” Jordan finishes with a height of 6’ 7” |

6’ 9” Ginsberg – miss – bumps bar with his shoulders Bafou – miss - nice form but heal just clips the bar on the decent Mighty – Clears – whatever the problem was on the 6’ 7” miss, he got it worked out here, easily clears Honcho – miss – really crowds the bar, almost goes under it he gets so close. Knocks if off going up. Peltonen – clear – he’s on fire right now, easily clearing the height Path – miss – hits bar with shoulder Ginsberg – miss – poor attempt, timing appeared off and he was nowhere close to clearing Bafou – miss – a rerun of the previous jump…heat just nicks the bar causing it to vibrate off Honcho – miss – again hits the bar going up. Path - miss - goes after it, but is too aggressive and hits bar on the way up Ginsberg – miss – again timing looked off…steps got truncated on approach and he knew it wasn’t in the cards. He hits the bar on the way up. Bafou – miss – a 3rd straight heal clip… Path – Clears – on the third chance at this height he clears with room to spare. Ginsberg finishes with a height of 6’ 3” Honcho finishes with a height of 6’ 3” Bafou finishes with a height of 6’ 7” Last edited by Breeze : 08-18-2015 at 03:05 PM. |

Event 4 – High Jump – Recap
Winners Llyw – Needed a big event and got it…could have done better but benefits from the fact that overall the results were off Chilton – See Llyw Babson – Not that his result was great, but outperformed expectation and the poor overall results of the field help his status Losers Schaplowsky – was capable of going much higher, missed opportunity Palmiero – unfortunate rolls kills chances here…three misses at 6’ 7” is bad luck with that card Ginsberg – jumped from 6’ 3” to 6’ 9” in attempts…risk didn’t pay off |

Overall Standings Analysis
The top of the standings remain the same with Babson, Ketola, and Nielsen holding on to the medal spots and Jordan right on their heals, but after that, there has been some significant shuffling. Rambis Jr. falls from 5th to 11th, and with his injury I don't expect to see him climb back into contention. Mighty's effort in the high jump allowed him to pass several people as he climbs from 10th to 7th, and the defending champion Llyw moves from 13th to 8th in 1 event. Lots of events left so I'm sure there will be plenty more changes before this thing is over. |

Event 5 - 400 Meters - Game Mechanics
The 400 Meters is made up of four 100 Meter segments, where a dice is rolled for each segment. We can do this a couple of different ways... 1. You announce your effort level up front for all 4 segments and I roll it and post the complete results 2. You announce your effort level for the first segment, I roll it post results, and you announce your effort level for the second attempt, I roll it post results, etc. (this theoretically allows you to adjust based on how the event is playing out). Please let me know how you'd like to proceed. Just so you know...if I don't hear from you, all rolls will be done in the average column. Also if I don't get responses on how to run this event, I'll choose option one because it is easier and faster. I'd like to run this event tomorrow afternoon, so get your vote in along with your effort levels (in order if possible) Last edited by Breeze : 08-18-2015 at 04:55 PM. |

Game Mechanics Clarification
I wanted to take a second to clarifiy something. The effort points allotted were designed to be split between days... from the initial write up, complete with typos and poor grammar "Another new twist with this version is - You'll only get to use All Out a set numnber of times for the each day." So if you had 10 effort points, 5 could be used each day...that means those don't carry over. However, if you received a PM from me regarding Effort/Rest and you chose to get an Effort Point over keeping your rest...that one does carry over. Last edited by Breeze : 08-18-2015 at 04:48 PM. |

Option 2 is better, but I think that may cause the race to last about a week in real time.

I agree. I'm lucky that I'm in front of a computer most of the day, so option 2 would be no problem for me, I can pm you my effort level for each segment sometime tonight or tomorrow morning

Will you be posting predictions on how players will do?

For Schaplowsky, let's go average, safe, average, all-out. I've got an all-out left to use so might as well use it, I've got a lot of ground to make up.

Event 5 – 400 Meters – Heat 1
In the first heat we have: Lane 2 – Path Lane 3 – Schaplowsky Lane 4 – Nielsen Lane 5 – Bafou Lane 6 – Ginsberg Lane 7 – Babson Lane 8 – Ketola Lane 9 – Palmiero This could be a really good heat. Schaplowky, Path, and Bafou consistently run similar times, so I expect them to get out early and basically run away from the field. The runners, go through their routines, they get in the blocks, the gun sounds and…my word, Schaplowsky was slow out of the blocks…so slow that Path has already really eaten into his stagger. Path appears to have the early lead, but Bafou and Palmiero also look good early. As the they exit the corner it looks like Palmiero actually has a slight lead on Path, Bafou and Ginsberg – who ran the corner especially well. As they head into the third hundred it looks like Palmiero, Path, Bafou, Ginsberg, Nielsen, Babson, Schaplowsky and Ketola, who is already over a full second behind 7th place. The final corner sees Palmiero continuing to push, I wonder if he’ll be able to hold on for the last 100. Path seems to be starting to separate from Bafou a little. Ginsberg and Nielsen appear to have had bad splits, which has allowed Babson and Schaplowsky, who really poured it on that last split, to pull into contention with them. Coming down the straightaway, it’s Palmiero and Path…Path is closing while Palmiero tries to hold onto his slight lead…Bafou is also making a charge on this final leg…as he begins to close on the two leaders. Schaplowsky continues his charge as well, blowing by Nielsen and Babson like they’re standing still. He’s closing on Ginsberg too…it’ll be close at the line. At the line…it’s a photo finish…between all 3 lead runners. I couldn’t tell who got there first, Palmiero, Path or Bafou… Schaplowsky continues to close on Ginsberg…at the line and I can’t tell…I think Schaplowsky ran out of room and didn’t quite catch Ginsberg, but I’ll have to wait and see. Babson crosses in 6th place with a time of 50 seconds, which is probably better than he expected. Nielsen is 7th crossing the line at 50.15…and Ketola strolls across at 52.05. As we wait on the ruling from the officials on the photo finishes… The second group results are announced and Ginsberg did hold off Schaplowsky as they finished with a time of 49.15 and 49.2 respectively. As for the winner…Path’s lean at the line earns him the victory in the heat with a time of 48.5. Palmiero and Bafou tie at 48.55 |

Event 5 – 400 Meters – Heat 2
The second heat breaks down like this: Lane 2 – Honcho Lane 3 – Mighty Lane 4 – Peltonen Lane 5 – Chilton Lane 6 – Rambis Lane 7 – Jordan Lane 8 – Llyw This one should be all about Honcho…in fact because he’s in lane 2 it’ll be entertaining to see him quickly chew into the stagger of the other runners. The runners take their mark, the gun sounds and Honcho does immediately eat up the stagger on Mighty, but Peltonen appears to be holding his own, and Llyw may actually be a bit quicker in the opening stage, but it is hard to tell with him all the way on the outside and with Jordan looking like he’s in slow motion. Coming out of the corner, it looks like Peltonen, Llyw and Honcho are all neck and neck, but Peltonen and Llyw appear to have more momentum… Down the far straight…it is Peltonen and Llyw edging in front of Honcho, then there is a big drop back to Chilton, followed by Rambis, who is really hobbled, and then Jordan and Mighty are bringing up the rear. Half way through the second turn, Honcho has picked it up a bunch, and I think he’ll exit the turn in first. Llyw appears to have slipped in front of Peltonen. The rest of the field is status quo. Coming down the final straight…Peltonen is trying to match the charge from Honcho on the corner and he's really making a move. He definitely going to get by Llyw and he’s really tracking down Honcho. They approach the line and Peltonen runs out of room…Honcho holds on to win the heat with a time of 47.8, Peltonen right on his heals at 47.9. Llyw posts a strong 48.2. Chilton comes in 4th at 49.3, Rambis gets across in 50 flat. Jordan finishes in 52 and Mighty brings up the rear at 52.35 |

Event 5 - 400 Meter - Recap
Winners Peltonen - way outperformed his expected result Palmiero - also out performed what was expected Losers No one performed extremely poorly based on expectation but if I have to name losers in this event it would be: Jordan Ketola Mighty because their times were so much slower than the field that they earned almost 100 points less than the rest of the bottom of the standings.
