Imperatrice is one we have high hopes for, but not in terms of our top stock. Discipline is average but not bad, so she will make gains in training. Endurance and speed are already very good so we think she will be a good one.

Imperatrice will be trained for more technique and acceleration. She will not need anything else for a while as we see how fast she improves in those two areas.

Beautiful Ladonia is the #2 horse in the country in terms of value, and it's easy to see why. With her very high discipline score, she trains well. Coupled with the high ratings she was born with, it's easy to see why she is a fan favorite already. She should be a monster in any kind of race, especially as her training progresses. We, and all of you, hope to see her make a run at the Triple Crown next year.

Beautiful Ladonia is in good shape all around, basically. She is not hard pressed with any need category, so we can pick and choose as we like. We think a bit of endurance will help as she already has the highest technique of any horse we have come across in her races so far.

Feline is another horse to be proud of at this point. She has a good discipline rating, though not great, as you can see by the increase in her speed stat from the last checkpoint. She still has work that needs to be done, and she will not, we don't think, be one of Almighty Farms' top two, but she will be an excellent racer sooner rather than later.

Feline has many needs but, with the gains made in her speed, not so pressing as we would have said 3 months ago. We will give her another shot of technique and then work on her speed and endurance, alternately.

Ah, Purple Tearse. Take a gander at that discipline rating and tell us you don't get goose bumps wondering at the possibilities. Think what her ratings may look like with much more training. Her acceleration is already the best at Almighty Farms, her technique soared with little effort at training and her speed and endurance jumped greatly with minimal training. It's hard to speculate, but in a year, we may be talking about how she competed with B. Ladonia in the Triple Crown races- or even won some. Think what she could be if we had been able to buy her in january instead of march.

Purple Tearse is going to work on her speed and endurance, but mostly on speed. We don't know how the quickness of her training will fade with time in this game, but we will give her every chance to blossom into a horse to be feared, a horse to challenge Ladonia as the "Best at Almighty Farms," at least until the next beast is found.

Two Notes:
  1. I have looked to see and can confirm that the horses we are racing against are, in fact, being trained by the computer and their stats are increasing, and
  1. It is now quite difficult to get all our horses in races where they won't have to race against another Almighty Farms horse. In the not too distant future, when they are all Level II or Level I National rated, it will be an even larger problem.

Well, in the end, it's better this way as it makes it more easier to finish in the money. I think havinga good speed horse might help, they always have those in the top races, to set the pace early.

Just to confirm.. you can't start training a horse until their two years old right? What would PT or BL be like if you could have? Also, are you able to check the status of any horse? I'm curious on how Important Girl and Tourbillon Historiant are doing (the other two I like in the auction with PT)?

Keep up the thread!

It will be better, Bug, as long as our horses do well, ie win. Of course, if we win too much, maybe the best suspense will be if Purple can beat B. Ladonia, or vice versa, and so forth.

Junior, no, you cannot train horses until they are 2 years old. They would practically be maxed out, but other 2 year olds that are in the top ranks would have been training, also.

No, I cannot check the status of any horse, at least if I can I haven't seen how yet. The only thing to do is look at all the races and see if a particular horse is there, then check their stats. (I'll keep an eye out for them)

Thanks for keeping this thread alive with your feedback and questions. As we all know, the life of a dynasty writer with no true participation involved is a lonely one.

Purple Tearse immediately goes to the front with Kheops Compagne in second. Purple maintains a lead of 1 1/2 lengths down the back straight with Paddy Liberty moving into second. Around the final turn, Purple still leads Paddy, but now by only 1/2. With 400m to go, Purple decides to end the suspense and bolts clear of the field, winning easily by 5 lengths.

Another race of Listed, ratings in the 30s, racers with the exception of Artic, whose ratings are in the 60s. We are trying our first exacta bet, since the differences are so great, both between the field and the top 2 and between Favorite and Artic. Artic is going off at 17:1, so if it wins, it will be a monster payout.

Favorite and Artic go on the attack early with Favorite leading by a length. One of the more boring (if winning can be boring) races we have seen, as Favorite and Artic are never really challenged and Artic could not keep up with Favorite when the sprinting began. Favorite wins by 3 lengths over Artic, with the next finisher coming in about 10 lengths further back, for a monster payday for Almighty Farms.

Feline makes her way to the front but Chateau Magesty is in trouble, stuck in lots of traffic. Feline maintains a lead with Telea d'Ombree and OK Rebel following behind. The three leaders stay in front to the 500m mark, where Feline and Rebel move forward but Telea tires. With 200m to go, Feline leads Rebel by 1/2 length. These 2 move to the wire, but Feline has more in her tank, and slowly pulls into a lead, winning by 1 over Rebel. Chateau finishes well back to ruin the bet.

All Group I Nationals in this race, most with stats in the 50-60s range. 10 are 3-year olds. We have, it appears, made a mistake with this race for Ladonia. This is a handicap race and B. Lad has got the worst of it.

As they say, 'our bad' for this, but there is always a column in the game race preview titled 'H', which we never really looked at. Seems it is for 'handicap' and now we see that there are always 0s there...except for a handicapped race such as this. Well, B. Lad has a '6' in this column, and we assume that is bad, as most other entrants have a '1' or '2'. Hope we haven't doomed her with our stupidity.

The handicap may be hurting, as B. Ladonia seems slugish and is out of the gate poorly in fifth. Blazing is first at the turn. On the back straight, it's Trompette taking the lead with B. Lad a poor sixth but with a clear track on the outside. Trompette overtakes Blazing, who slows considerably, allowing Cloda to move into second. 500m to go and Trompette still leads by a length over Cloda, B. Lad still far behind in fifth. With 200m to go, Trompette still in charge, and here comes Ladonia on the outside. She passes Cloda into second with 100m to go, but Trompette had too much of a lead on her, and Trompette wins by 1/2 at the wire.

---> We are beginning to wonder about the decision to let all our boarders leave without replacing any of them and eventually having all 20 boxes filled with Almighty Farms stock. It seems there are not that many races actually available in this game, and the more horses we own that are racing the more we will be competing against ourselves. Of course, that has been brought up a bit, but having 3 or 4 horses (when they are all at the National/International level) running in the same race could get old.

Eventually, the ages of the horses will spread themselves out so that some will be running in older classification races, but perhaps we should not purchase too many too soon? Or maybe we will get tired of this, so we might as well go all out now? Don't know how long this dynasty is destined to go.

Well, you could try using some of those extra boxes for mares to breed, if you want to explore that side of the game without interfereing with your main racing stable.

As far as handicap goes, I believe that '6' was the handicap rating. If so, figure 1 pouind for each point. So, if BL was a six and everyone else was a one, then BL was carrying five pounds more than the other horses. That's harsh, but accurate considering her records. At a guess, she was probably carrying 130 to everyone else's 125 or 126.

For a horse of her caliber, it would not be unusual to see her carry five or six pounds more than other horses in a handicap race. I believe the record weight ever carried by a mare in a race was 133.5 lbs (they usually are not as good as stallions). I seem to remember 141 lbs as being the record for a stallion, but I might be wrong.

The good news is that in the Triple Crown races, BL would actually get to run with five pounds LESS than her male competitors (126 pounds for colts, 121 foer fillies)...

I guess second is really not that bad, considering the handicap and all. Good information, BTW, Lokugh, on that subject.

Exacta was nice. It's getting to the point where we have so much cash ($40 million+) that betting is a bit boring without taking some chances.

As for the breeding, we should get another auction pretty soon where some older horses may be for sale. We could try for some brood mares and see how that works at that time.

As always, thanks for keeping me awake with this thing.

Ursulo is still Listed, so we have a bunch of fodder with stats in the 30s and 40s, plus one of the usual suspects, Artic, with ratings in the 60s.

Ursulo shoots out of the gate so fast he has 5 lengths on the field, except Artic, who is 2 1/2 back. Ursulo settles in on the rail and waits while Artic's jock has to use the whip already just to catch up. The field finally pulls up to Ursulo down the back straight, and with 500m left, Illuminateur is 1/2 a length behind. Unfortunately for all the pretenders, Ursulo and Artic hit the whip and are gone. Ursulo leads by 3 with 200m to go, and coasts to a 4 length win, Artic finishing second to seal the exacta payout.

WINNER
Ursulo
2) Artic
3) Illuminateur du Ponton

Purple Tearse is 5 lengths up by the time she hits the rail from box 12. Horses make charges here and there, but none can sustain the effort and they drop back. With 400m to go, Grosjean lays the rod to Purple and off she goes. It's no contest as Purple Tearse wins by 8 lengths over Illuminateur du Ponton, the same horse that finished third in the previous race.

---> Texas Blue has left the boarding stable. We have 13 boxes in use.

---> Our fame score roller coaster ride continues as we drop a point to 71, good for a tie for 45th place of the 151 stables.

As you can see, we have a couple of double-dip races here, as Favorite goes against Imperatrice and Hold takes on Feline. As we have said, it is impossible to avoid these situations with the paucity of non-steeplechase options available. It is better to come in 3rd in a race with a purse of $60k than win a race with a purse of $12k, after all.

As has been her wont lately, B. Lad gets out of the gate poorly and gets stuck on the rail in third place behind Royal La Justice. B. Lad moves up to second behind Royal but is now in a quagmire on the rail, horses all around her. With 500m to go, the whips start flying, but still no place to go as Essana Des Bois leads. 200m to go and Essana finally sprints forward, opening a path for Ladonia to make her move. She does so, accellerating through the hole, overtaking Essana and winning by a length.

A very mixed bag. Mostly chaffe with ratings in the 30s and 40s. Then there is Nina de L'Aerien with 70s, and Zara, who has 80/90. Zara has the highest accelleration score we have ever seen, mid 90s. Could be an interesting ride.

Imperatrice goes to the front immediately, followed by Favorite and Zara. Imperatrice retains her lead on the field, but Nina de L'Aerien quickly closes on the outside as the four horses are bunched ahead of the field. Favorite comes even with Imperatrice while Zara gets herself in big trouble, stuck inside on the rail by Nina. At the 500m mark, Almighty Farms pair are side-by-side in the lead. Imperatrice is the first to the whip and she takes off. Zara's way is now clear and she responds. Favorite cannot go with the pair, but Nina does, moving to third. A whipping frenzy ensues with 150m left and Nina gets the best of it as Imperatrice can't maintain. Nina flies to the wire first, followed by Zara.

Monster Ski breaks first as Hold and Feline have to come from well outside out of the gate. Monster maintains his lead but Hold is able to get position on his shoulder in second with Feline still lagging. Feline finds an openning and moves from eighth to third on the outside as Monster leads Hold by 1/2. Feline runs past Monster to lead now, just edging out Monster and Hold. With 200m to go Cash Aussi sprints into first while Hold and Feline struggle to maintain their positions. Cash Aussi holds onto the lead, beating the pair from Almighty Farms by 1/2.

We are taking some chances here, as all three of our entrants have relatively low form ratings at this time. Giving it a shot anyway.

Bug, there will be a Triple Crown search announcement soon.

Edit to say the is not for confusion but to show the question of what the Triple Crown is or isn't.

What a mix. We have anywhere from Listed to Level I Nationals. We knew this is a step up in competition for Purple with an $80+K purse, but considering her crappy form, maybe it was a bad idea. Two of the best opponents we see are in this one, Chateau Magesty and Sly Leader. Both have stats in the 80s.
