A slight threadjack. What do people think about Eddie George as an announcer? I think he is one of the best newer guys coming on the networks these days.

I completely phase these half-time shows out anymore, so I couldn't tell you...

He was a little shaky in the pregame, but I think he showed some flashes.

Their offense definitely looked better than OSU's offense.

Actually if Ohio State would stay out of the damn zone they might have a chance at beating Florida. But sitting back and letting Florida chip away at them coupled with a long of short field situations has lead to at this point a blow out for the Gators.

Who would've thought that UCLA could beat USC, especially after watching each team's bowl games. That's one of the reasons I love college football. Each week brings something new.

Yep...it's kinda like they didn't bother to watch tape of Leak and how the short passing game is a huge strength of his.

Boise State beat Oregon State.
Oregon State beat USC.
USC beat Michigan.
Michigan beat Vanderbilt.
Vanderbilt beat Georgia.
Georgia beat Auburn.
Auburn beat Florida.

It's perfectly obvious to me that Boise State is a better team than Florida.

I'm actually surprised that the refs didn't throw a flag for the guy losing his helmet.

(Not to say there should have been one, just that I'm surprised they didn't invent one)

Zwick would get killed in there. This reminds me of the 1997 Sugar Bowl against FSU when their defensive line just dominated the supposed great OSU offensive line.

I think it may be over now. Not at the half, but OSU needed to come out fast and score. As it looks now, OSU may not get the ball back until only about 5-6 minutes to go in the quarter.

That Verizon spot where the father is talking to his kids about their Christmas presents has a dead perfect delivery on the punchline ("Dad got hosed.")

Great job of casting & performance.

I don't think I've ever seen a more perfect example of the favorite playing its worst possible game and the underdog having the "perfect" game.

have they even called a penalty on Florida tonight? I think I saw one in the first half. The tOSU defensive coordinator seems to be taking a page from the Bresnihan book "if you have them back up fast enough the other team never has to throw further than 6 yards."

I don't really buy this argument. IMO, tOSU is playing so poorly (particularly on offense) because UF is playing so much better on the other side of the ball. tOSU doesn't play poorly in a vacuum, UF is making them play poorly.

Might want to make sure you're watching Fox instead of ESPN Classic or something.

4 for 40 on Florida, 4 for 45 on OSU. +1 on the Gators that was declined.

And one of those on Florida was a weak roughing the passer call that was a key part of OSU's only scoring drive of the game.

That's my favorite commerical right now. Especially after the first time I saw it... then I had to ask "did the dad have a beard" (I couldn't remember), then I confirmed he did and that just made it better.

While it kinda looks that way, I think that doesn't give Florida enough credit. They are doing everything right. Ohio State has no answer for anything, and they have obviously just imploded. But Florida has clearly outplayed, outschemed, outcoached, and outdone Ohio State in retty much every respect.

Hard to know what combination of motivation and preparation and discipline and so forth goes into a result like this, but this is about as badly dominated as a top team has been, in my view. Hats off, well done.

I guess it's particularly funny to me because it's doubtful that is the first time it was played in this game.

Anyway, I agree, the line is delivered perfectly with the right inflection and tone to his voice and everything.

The fact that he's in his bathrobe just adds to it for me for some reason. I guess I can picture that being my father pretty easily ...
