No way he is on the Steelers' draft board and no way that they take a QB in the first round.

Winston will go to some team #2. I just can't see him dropping. He has "talent" and that will trump everything. From a PR perspective, telling your fan base "We tried everything we could to get him to change his attitude" is better than "We just passed on a hall of fame QB with the #2 pick"

I was rooting for Oregon so happy to see the result. Looking forward to SEC Alabama beating and exposing the Ducks (I hope!).

Wow

Oregon outscored them 41-7 in the second half.

Yeah, I know that's going to be the case here. Games on CBS have been pretty bad though too (it's been brought up on Czaban's YSR show a number of times).

Let's see if this game gets finished before 1AM.

Is the ball automatically dead to the kicking team once it hits the end zone on college kickoffs? Seems like OSU could have had a shot at jumping on that.

Actually depending on what happens during FA, they will almost certainly draft a pass rusher in the first round or maybe a LB to replace Washington, cause there's no way he's coming back to the Cards next year.

That's accurate.

It's also accurate to say the Ducks outscored them 41-7 over a 20 minute (game time) stretch.

They called off the dogs with over 10 minutes of the game left. That was mighty impressive.

That's why many bad teams remain bad for a long, long time. He's not worth the risk.

I think since Bama touched it before it hit the ground, the ball was live. I noticed that as well.

If the receiving team touches it before it hits the ground in the EZ then it stays live till they cover it. Had OSU been aware they could have had a TD with no time coming off the clock.

Yeah, I wondered because the ref didn't really do anything until the Bama player finally grabbed it - then he called for the touchback.

(thanks for the ruling, Sak)

Nice TD run!

At least it's not the Whatever-the-Hell-Bowl-was-Held-in-Tampa(I Mean St Pete) Bowl. That looked like it was being played on camouflage.

Ohio State's main deficiency is their defense. Wisconsin made them look competent, but they are not. Alabama is having little trouble moving the ball as I expected.

All the officials working the playoffs worked a minor bowl already. They didn't want a crew who hadn't worked in a month to work these games.

While I agree that Ohio State's main deficiency is their defense, Wisconsin did not make them look competent, rather, Ohio State made themselves look competent and played their best defensive game of the year.

Just stop with the total nonsense comments and give credit where credit is due instead of insinuating it was Wisconsin ineptitude.

Dola - can we retire this fucking song already, too? Nobody is remembering any college football players for centuries. Unless one of them winds up conquering half of Europe. Just shut the ever-loving fuck up with your century bullshit, m'kay?

OSU on pace for 700 total yards. Need to keep the momentum up after the second half kickoff.

From the looks of it, Bama needs to get their shit together or OSU is going to run away in the second half.

Glad to see Oregon beat FSU, I've never seen a top 5 team squeak by so many teams on their way to a shot at a title. They just never looked dominant this year and I expected them to get torched like that. They did a hell of a job coming out on top in so many close games, but they were clearly the weakest of the top 4 IMO.

Anybody who is completely shocked by this hasn't watched the Bama defense this year.

Which begs the question. Why was the west coast game started at 5pm est and the central time zone game started at 9 est? Just seemed back asswards to me.

Ok, this begs the question... who ARE the good defenses in the SEC this year? Because everyone except for Mizzou has given up quite a bit of points in their bowl games this year.
