Sometimes I have a social event (on zoom in this instance), where I know I'll be drinking for a while - so I get lighter beers, easy drinking lagers or straight-up American light beers. And then I just drink 2-3X as much as I normally would. Oh well.

I went through my liquor cabinet a little earlier. I found a full bottle of Bacardi 151 minus maybe five shots. I opened the bottle and took a sniff. WTF did I ever drink something that smelled like that?!
I also just learned that Bacardi stopped making 151 in 2016.

Yeah, I was terrible at dating in my teens and twenties, now that I'm in my late thirties (god I'm old) I have no idea what to do.
At least if the date shows up I can try to analyze what went wrong.

I coach my daughters softball team and we had an end of year pool party at my house yesterday. I got some beer and white claw, and told all the parents bring anything specific they want to drink. It was amazing how many people brought alcoholic seltzers. Those things are exploding. One dad brought a six pack of bud and his wife was giving him a hard time about it.

So it's nearly impossible to find a non-IPA good beer, which kind of sucks in the summer, I love IPAs but am done with them once it gets hot. The seltzers have grown on me a bit, but, there's kind of a chemical/acidic/carbonation/soda like aspect that makes me want to stop at around 3, and you know, sometimes I want more than 3. |

Wasn’t sure whether to post this in this thread or Random Thoughts… either way this is something alien to my 20 year old self (and probably my 30 year old self TBH).
Homemade kimchi is the perfect post beer session snack: stops the beer in it’s tracks, cleanses the palate and avoids greasy calorific burgers, kebabs , pizzas, etc. Win win!

Been a rough week. 92 year old dad in the hospital with Covid. Both kids dealing with bullies at school. Just paid the Xmas credit card bill and final payment for Disney trip is due in 3 days (money is no issue but hate spending it) and wife leaves for a work trip tomorroe.
