A lot of missed chances by the Rams.

Does the Rams kicker not have a big leg? He came short last week on a kick and that one didn't seem to have much on it.

That’s not THE Jerry Rice…

Dude that face mask on Steve Young in that first play.

So if Jerry Rice could actually catch, he would have been one of the best of all time.

Rice was human. So is Cupp. Definitely a costly drop there. I take full responsibility for having brought it up. Just like Mahomes took responsibility when he lobbed that pass straight to a defensive lineman. Though that ends my similarity to Mahomes, who has rarely been human during his career.

Damn, when did they stop believing in the QB being in the grasp? Next time that happens, the defender is going to get a flag for not holding up.

Love how both the Bengals and 49ers were written off today mid-game on this forum.

That taunting call was huge and I just don't get it. There's been a dozen worse in the game not called.

What a terrible challenge. There was nothing to say that was a fumble.

For a supposed genius, McVay has shit all over himself with his challenges in this game and now has no challenges or timeouts left in a close game. Just two plays with absolutely zero chance of being overturned.

What’s the success % of drawing the other team offsides? 1%? Maybe less if you take out the idiot penalty teams

The guy who hit Stafford in the back of the head should get suspended when it’s reviewed

God, do I hate third-down passes behind the LoS.

That is an insanely bad call on third down. Could see the screen from a mile off. Got conservative at the worst time.

McVay is so bad with timeouts. Generally, I don't understand why teams throw away second half timeouts to save five yards on a delay of game. I think about 90% of the time it's more important to have that timeout in your pocket than lose five yards. It happened in the Bengals game as well but thankfully for the Bengals, it didn't cost them.

JT O'Sullivan just posted a video on youtube (The QB School) talking about this. He takes the rather "extreme" position of saying that not only should you never use timeouts to save a delay of game penalty, he also said that, except in extremely rare situation, you should never clock the ball either. He said every team should have several one-word play calls for their 2-minute offense so that you never need to clock it.

Anyway, here's the video:

Should have taken a timeout there before the 2 minute warning, no?

Realistically Jimmy G is going to be lucky to get 1-2 first downs when they get the ball back.

Seems like the play should be to sell out to stop a first down -or- just give up the TD and you’re going to need as much time as possible

Every NFL team should have a coach who is a total numbers guy and their only job is advising a coach on clock management.

To be fair there’s plenty of time to drive into FG range here, but yeah they could have an extra 10-11 seconds if they had played it right. Let’s see if it matters.

Right now they should be sitting at 2:15ish with a timeout and the 2 minute warning in their pocket.

Aaron Donald is going to be quite a problem for the turnstiles on the interior line for the Bengals.

I never have nor ever would tweet an athlete they cost me a lot of money but if I ever was to it would be the cornerback on the Niners who dropped that pass.

Now I didn't actually lose any money because I hedged, but I would have won a lot more had the Niners gone to the Superbowl.
