Unfortunately there are no 11-15 teams left in the tourney Instead they draw 22 win Florida Gulf Coast tomorrow, thankfully, at home. They just put up 95 points against Detroit Mercy in the first round, so might be a struggle to get past them.

After everything that's happened this year, one win short of last year's result now for Michigan.

That's just unreal.

Villanova's good at beating us down when we get too big for our britches. Otherwhise a third tussle with Ohio State. Either outcome would be fine.

Guess I'm rooting for them rest of the tournament cause Devante Jones was a graduate transfer to Michigan from Coastal Carolina this season

I am much happier with my bracket for the woman's tourney than I am with my bracket' for the men's tourney.

Weird stat - UK has been upset by seed 17 times in the history of the tourney and St. Peters is the first one to win in the next round. Teams were 0-16 before tonight.

Hey look, 11 minutes and counting and no Gonzaga fouls in the 2nd half.

I completely forgot Emoni Bates reclassified and was playing for Memphis. He's fallen a long way from the next Lebron.

If the Zags hope to win a title they better hit their free throws. 7/18 tonight.

How is Holmgren the #1 pick?

Scouts love how well he handles the ball for a big man. Like a guard. He can also shoot from the outside. 40% from three. Plus is a good shot blocker and supposedly a great IQ.

They've had a great season so far, with a 26-3 record entering the NCAA tournament, but it's unknown how they would have fared in a better conference. They played six "Power Five" teams this season, defeating Texas, UCLA and Texas Tech, while losing to Duke and Alabama.

Regardless, reaching seven consecutive "Sweet 16's" in the NCAA tourney is a remarkable accomplishment.

That is the comp imo. It could be argued that Kristaps pre ACL injury should have been selected #1. I don't think Holmgren is a consensus #1 but I think his skillset and athleticism is enough to warrant consideration to go #1. The lack of size is going to be a problem. I am counting on NBA conditioning coaches to add 10-15 lbs to his frame and NBA refs not to allow nearly as much physicality as they do in college.

Iowa women about to crash out of the tournament. Not as bad as UK's double doozy, but close.

It still boggles my mind that the women have NBA rules as far as quarters and advancing the ball to half court after a TO and the men don't.

The game-winner for Creighton against Iowa women was by an Iowa transfer, on Iowa's floor. Ouch.

I wouldn't recommend either one for the college men. The quarters makes sense in the NBA since 24:00 on the clock for a half seems odd. The only positive about changing is that for now, it seems the long mandated media time outs are every five minutes rather than four for the women. If the men were to adopt it, I'm sure the networks would find a way to add breaks rather than subtract them.

I don't like the TO advancement rule at all. It's a field-position change that has nothing to do with the players doing anything. Too many breaks in the action as it is. It pretty much mandates specific uses of time outs in late-game situations.

Caitlin Clark didn't shoot well (4-19). That's the downside of having one player do so much - if she has an off game, upsets follow. Michigan has the same issue with Naz Hillmon, though there's less risk of poor shooting since most of her points come from inside. Hopefully, the team is healthy now and they have a chance to make a run.

The Canes sure are a fun team to watch. I certainly didn't expect a Sweet 16 trip at the beginning of the season.

I haven't been that angry with a official in a long time. Just a horrible call that is made worse that the ref was not allowed to say the tech was given.

My bracket is shredded but that was my best pick by far. FSU beat them twice in a week (with a win over Duke sandwiched in between) then our season fell apart, but Miami has been really good. They've sucked for several years, sometimes not even having a full bench of scholarship players, then the short dude transferred to Arkansas and suddenly they're a 25 win team.

On the subject of Chet Holmgren, someone posted that the Pelicans should draft him and have him shadow Zion - everything Zion orders, Chet should eat instead.

Not too much of a struggle. Down 6 at the half, the Chants quickly caught up and took over the game, winning 84-68. Woot!

Coastal Carolina will face a familiar foe in the semis of the Basketball Classic-fellow Sun Belt member South Alabama at their place. They only played once during the regular season due to COVID, and lost by 4. If they win they will face the winner of UTEP and the Youngstown State/Fresno State winner.
