I had Banda #8. I think it's a fine pick. Especially at that position.

I have no idea what to think of my finish this ST. Finishing last would've been disastrous, but...it's hard to really know where we'll slot this year. I think we've given it a great go though, so really...we'll just have to take a look @ it and see where it all ends up.

Nah, it's not sandbagging. Your Hartford team is SO good. That pitching is insane. Lujan gives you a real injection of offense. You guys are crazy. Crazy, I tell you.

i exported last nite, which is how i got the 2nd best SP in free agency. but not for nothing, the league does move fast. there'll be times i miss an export or 2 in a week, as long as i'm fine for the Friday export i'll try to hit as many as i can.

I'm not really to worried about sucking up ST. I kinda expected it. Not sure how I'm going to be set up for the season until I get the file, though.

I'm on IM all the fricking time. (Although... not tonight.) IDs in my profile.

Sorry, Hartford is still easily the best team in the RL. Not that there are slouches over there with some of those other teams, but that staff is insane.

As for Chicago, I like what DC has done, but I agree with him. He doesn't have enough overall. He'll finish over .500. I really like his lineup, and his starters will be good this year. It will be interesting to see what he does when those guys get old, though. He has four SPs 30 and older, and he just had to trade his 3B to sneak in relief help.

All that said, I think my team will take a step back this year as we wait for kids to develop more. I think I will have a worse record than Chicago, and two or three other teams in the RL, and probably three teams in the CL.

I was feeling pretty good until you started with all your trades....... I thought Id be up there in contention but I wasnt counting on you....

Then I wake up the next day, you have payton and did 30 other deals.....

Between you and Columbus, and then Compton and Colorado right on our heels, it should be a fun year....

I think Columbus is going to be the team to watch... His guys got hosed last year by the game, and I havent seen that 2 years in a a row yet. I think some peole around here have forgotten that they are only 1 year removed from a classic victory.

It's so hard when you have a team that's on the cusp, because what you do within the margins really can separate your team from 3rd to say, 5th or lower. I have a lot of guys that I wonder about...but I am indeed excited about what we've got.

We'll just see how it goes.

I think this is the year Colorado seriously contends again. If I've built correctly, we are going to own folks at home, and we should play really well away too. RL pitchers, be prepared to have your HR totals go a bit high this year, as the Rancheros bring serious offense back to the league.

Curious...if you have a player on your minor league free agent list, but he makes your major league squad, does that mean he will no longer be eligible for free agency (because the six year clock will start)?

Yeah, if he plays on the major league roster, than his major league clock starts.

Major league roster all set and exported. Minors need work, but I could easily end up sloppy drunk tomorrow evening, better safe than sorry.

As indicated in my preview, my offense should be good as it was last year, possibly even slightly improved. My bullpen is solid, especially at closer and setup. My starting pitching is, in my opinion, 5 3s....all better than most teams' 5th starters, but deficient at the top of the rotation.

I would like to break 80 wins.

Welcome to my neighborhood of the draft.
In fact, this is the first time in quite a long time that Valdosta wasn't dead last in the minor league system page.

He's a secondary skill guy. Hits .240-ish to 250-ish, but the great power and decent discipline means he gets 30 bombs, 40 doubles and over an .800 OPS. And at a position the draft seems to ignore with respect to talent (along with 2B, 3B and SS).

As for defense, let me know when we switch to a game platform where that matters.

I don't have any stats to prove it matters in OOTP.. but I have a feeling that at least certain pieces of defense matter in OOTP at certain positions in a specific regard...

I assume you're talking about the catcher's arm and basestealing. Well, sabermetrics says basestealing don't matter.

Actually, I treat defense seriously, too. I'm just pointing out that, unfortunately, in my experience, the success or failure of teams in this league is very rarely defense. I have personally led the league in fielding and had .500 level or slightly lower ballclubs (for me, my worst teams), and I have won championships playing the equivalent of nine Dan Ugglas (or is that, Ugglae or Uggli?).

I have seen it that way with other teams, too.

That said, I do make gametime, roster and personnel decisions with defense in mind.

Yeah great, I open the season with 4 against the red hot Roadrunners, then face Atlanta and open my road schedule with 4 at Valdosta. Terrific.

As for defense, let me know when we switch to a game platform where that matters.

Half my guys that have 100 in power barely break 20... Mcgill and Baker come to mind.....

Maybe its just me, but im still not sold on ratings being totally accurate and am starting to heavily rely on stats as a telling point in where I think guys should be rating wise??

Im simple though, and dont have formulas coming out of my behind like the rest of ya!

My team is absolutely nuts. We could be first, we could be 7th. Sooo many hard decisions.

Not this season, but yeah, all of the time. It's happening with my one catcher prospect now.

Surprised you gave up Padilla..... He was bad last year, but I think you would have had a very solid number 4 guy there.... Not like you dont have one now, but you know what i mean
