Dola - this league is incredible, and the off-season is the perfect time to join! The content coming out of the league is amazing, with I think 5 different regularly running podcasts, great articles, and an extremely lively league chat on Slack.

We'd love to add more owners!

Great game...still shocked there aren't more FOFC guys in there. Even without a deep knowledge of the game, it's super addicting and you can learn by asking everyone and reading the great documentation.

Big name teams Ohio State, NC State and Oklahoma are available. We have a little bit of downtime before recruiting so it's a good time to get acclimatised. 200+ human controlled teams!

With the amount of users all piling onto the server around sim time, it can get a little slow, but I'm constantly working to improve this. Keep in mind every piece of data generated is kept forever for historical purposes, which does mean some slower database queries.. but we have 15 years of play-by-play data available for regression analysis at the same time

Just completed 2032 (which Arkansas won in dominating fashion -- well done murrayyyy), and now entering the 2033 season.

Transfers Phase 2 has now started, with a quick turnaround, so make sure you get your offers in today! (or not so I have a better chance of getting the players I want)

Recruiting for the new year is just about to begin. It's time to come try the best mp league there is. You don't even need to like basketball to join.

Everyone can see the top 200 initial scout and all players from your region with interest. All players outside of region are completely fogged including interest level.

You're only going to get 3 calls per player but you won't be penalized for not calling them per phase after those initial 3 calls.

Beyond that, not 100% sure until we see the 1st phase run

I think that's spot on. Note that the "free" initial scouting doesn't put the guy on your scouted list; still have to spend at least one scouting trip on a guy to put him there.

Looks like Commish has fixed the problem, and recruiting has continued (yay!). He added time to the end of the 1st stage, and you have about 8 hours left if you still need to do it (but not if going after my recruits)

So while he is attainable at this point and probably the highest recruit I can get at this point he seems like a wasted recruit.

Strengths
Solid on the offensive glass

Weaknesses
Very little upside
Could be a better passer from the post
Poor overall offensive awareness
Not a prolific or aggressive scorer
Game needs more consistency
Can sometimes be too passive
Doesn't have a high basketball IQ
Not overly athletic
Struggles to stay engaged in the post

And no worries, I wont be upset if one of you come in and snag him from me, lol....

This guy has lived up to his scouting report. The hidden gem part of recruiting is exciting. Cant just recruit rankings.

Any cheaters for a newb on finding potential in lower ranked recruits?

I can share something I noticed. The flamboyant personality seems to directly influence how often a player shoots. I have two of them on my team and they have the highest rate of shot attempts.

I think the important thing is to get the big picture. Every piece of information on those player cards has a reason to be there, and they all play a role in how that player performs on the court.

With Long Beach State, I'm having a hard time with keeping the other team off the free throw line - come to find out I've been recruiting players with high Aggression and low Discipline ratings, two things I didn't pay a ton of attention to while recruiting.

I hadn't necessarily noticed a correlation between "Flamboyant" and taking a lot of shots, but it absolutely wouldn't surprise me if that was the case.

bumping back to the top. recruiting for this year is almost over, training camp runs this weekend, and it's almost time for the new season. Many teams available, great league, fantastic community, and probably the best MP sports game around. Way deeper than you can even imagine.

Transfer season has started! 1st stage is where you can try to get the players who have entered the portal back on your team and last 36 hours, stages after that 24 hours. You should all ignore any Coastal or Grand Canyon players who might have stayed in the portal.

Any other brave FOFC fools willing to play the premiere, multi player, sports management game in existence?

2035 season is almost ready to begin, recruiting is winding down. Many mid tier schools available, and it's ok to run 2 to 3 teams with certain expectations and rules.

Just noticed my alma mater is available (and struggling). How much of a time commitment is this & how well does the website work on a phone? Feel free to point in the direction of a solid guide so you don't have to answer questions.

Thanks!

Website works well on a phone (and an awesome new one will be out soon), Slack is useful too for immersion.

Outside of like Stage 1/2 of recruiting you don't *need* to spend much time at all - 4 days run each night, a college team has 0-2 games during that, so just check in for a couple minutes to see if there are injuries, look at box scores & fiddle with the rotation/tendencies a bit if you want. I mean you'll probably get sucked in like the rest of us and spend more time, but it's not necessary, especially early on with a bad team. (You won't make Wright State any worse - the AI's biggest weakness is setting rotations - take the plunge for a season & see if you like it!)

Besides it costs you nothing. It's free to play. It's a one man show of constant development that works amazingly well.

I asked the same question as you. How much time?

The answer is, as much as you want. I started with 1 team, moved to 2 in short order simply because it's more fun. I didn't expect for it to become something I think about in my free time. I would recommend diving into the community on slack once you do start.

I much prefer the PC version of the site to the mobile, but it's set up to run either. It's hard to see all the data on a phone.

I run Northern Kentucky and we need another human in the Horizon so badly (only 4, but 4 tough ADs), so you'll get a mix of wins and losses. The AI is programmed to not hurt our feelings to bad (but it could if the commish wanted it to).

The first season is all about checking it out anyway, once you s that you'll be plotting your programs growth for the next year. Even if you don't love basketball, it's very easy to become immersed.

There are like 4 or 5 different podcasts too! It's amazingly impressive, and anyone here should be checking it out.

I've enjoyed this so far. Made some small tweaks to my team. I would like to hire a new coach who's philosophy is more to what I'd like. So, I think I'm just waiting out the season.

First season is tricky. It only gets better from here. Once you start bonding with your players as you recruit them and watch them develop is when it really gets fun.

Yeah it's much better once you start recruiting "your" guys, but it's not a bad thing to get to learn for most of a season before deciding on philosophy & starting to get hints about what you want in recruits. Which system are you thinking of running?
