Basicaly the vote was 3-3 between DV and Schmidty. Schmidty is on CF's team, so logically he is going to vote for DV, being day 1 and all, yet he waited until the deadline to cast that vote, just wondering why. |

On the contrary I was very decisive. I had decisive that I wanted to save my teammate and he was already safe. I knew if I voted for Lathum or DV they would switch anyway, then Lathum fucked things up so I tried to save Schmidty. So no indecisiveness at all. Really annoyed at the hypocrisy of Lathum wanting a tie vote early and then screwing things at the end. Maybe the USA a-holes need to be taken down a few pegs. And DV, you are arguing for for me NOT voting for you? Too funny. |

And the reason I voted anyway was I was watching for switchers and had my vote ready to cast it, whoever voted. If I were a wolf and DV was a villager, I would have voted DV long ago. I'm just a stupid vanilla villager.

that is, fuck up things for my plans to save my teammate schmidty. I care not about wolves at this point since I don't know anything about who is one. I just want canadian medals, as do you as you obviously expended a lot of victory points too. Granted Lathum you are acting as Lathum as ever so I kinda think you aren't a wolf. |

That's about the size of it. He was gone all day, then with about 15 minutes left he sent us (kwhit and I ) a PM apologizing for not being here and that he had to run again, without even logging on and voting to save himself. *sigh* Did what I could but hard to save someone that doesn't try to be saved. |

FWIW last game Poli you got no votes D1 or D2. The game before when you began using that strategy you had 1 vote D1, Schmidty who like to vote you day 1 and one vote D2 when people were trying to enact a plan to create a 16 way tie. This game you had 1 vote on D1 so I'm not really sure where you are getting "f you'd like to ruin it for me by voting me out on day 1 or 2 every game"

Why was there not a wolf-kill last night? Is this game different in that regard?

There are a couple of possibilities - the wolves could have hit the defector, or the member of the US team that won the event (and got a 1 in 4 chance of blocking a night-kill for a villager) was targeted and got lucky. Alternatively, the wolves could just be messing with the village's heads... |

Vote count as at post 314:
2 - ntndeacon: Autumn (272), MartinD (314) 2 - Poli: Lathum (278), KWhit (296) 1 - CrimsonFox: Darth Vilus (286) 1 - Autumn: Passacaglia (287) 1 - Darth Vilus: CrimsonFox (305) There isn't all that much to go on, from what I can see, and it looks like there are quite a few potential candidates - I don't see much point in bringing in someone else at this point, and I'm going to stay away from Darth Vilus/CrimsonFox (as it looks like a case of tit-for-tat voting to me - not going to get involved in that sort of minor disagreement). Voting for Poli would push him 2 ahead, with no obvious second candidate, and I'm not going to vote for fellow German Autumn, so: VOTE NTNDEACON (I have included this vote in the count above.) Yes, I realise that this isn't great reasoning, but there doesn't appear to be much out in the open to see, and I don't have enough time to go through the posts made so far more thoroughly. |

well one man's stupid is another man's genius. No telling what people would do. I'm just finding it hard to believe in that extreme amount of luck of both voting for the right American (1 in 3) and getting that 1 in 4 chance to block. That's 1 in 12 odds. I'd go with the defector instead as a cause between the two. With 4 wolves that's 1 in 10 odds. Still think it's highly possible a no-nightkill just to screw with us. That rule is terrible |

I have played in almost every game of WW on this board and I have never seen the wolves intentionally not do a night kill. Just makes no sense.

Let's see...because the two votes I had earlier have now multiplied because of no other reason. Because day 1 is a crapshoot no matter how it's sliced. I may not have garnered day 1 or 2 votes last game but I can guarantee you that kwhit was there, and possibly you as well, promoting voting me out. Villager or wolf, hearing that two games in a row is very annoying...and I have no reason to believe it will stop.
So screw this game.

Poli- I hear it every game, literally almost every game, I know how annoying it can be.
Not sure what I can tell you. I am always going to look closer at the people who use some sort of standard day 1 vote, it just does nothing to help the village. |

You're failing to sell me on how anything in day 1 saves the village. I'd love to see seem sort of data/analysis that suggests that we can catch a wolf based on day 1 votes. Hard data. Not whims thoughts or beliefs. You give me that and I'll just start regularly guessing like everyone else. If you can't, then don't hate the player, hate the game.

Gah it's flipping frustrating to be up against my own teammate too. You can imagine what eaglefan calls team Russia: team utr.
It's just my nature now that most of my ww is played via the iPhone...and i think everyone knows ntn for it.

Based on Poli's reaction, I tend to lean villager right now. Poli tends to wear his emotions on his sleeve and Im not sure he reacts this way if he is a wolf for a second straight game.

IMO even on D1 someone should have a reason for their vote, a reason that needs to be explained later in the game if an explanation is called for to do some type of analysis. It is impossible to do that if someone has a standing D1 vote or does what you do. At some point in the game almost everyone has to answer for their votes and reasons for casting them. IMO someone saying they voted from the top down gives zero insight that can help the village. This is why I often change my D1 vote. I may see something later in the day that makes me cange, I am often wrong, but at least I am providing some sort of data point for down the road. I don't hate the player or the game, I am just attempting to vote based on some sort of logic, no matter how see through it is. |

I'm sorry, but I fail
to see how I can ever, ever, ever justify a day 1 vote. Even if I guessed like 95% of the rest of us do, how can I be held to the coals for being wrong? How, in the same notion, can I stake claim should it turn out I somehow voted a wolf on day 1? It's rediculous.

Because you are predetermining your voter far before the game has even started.
I would think it equally suspicious to say 4 games from now my D1 vote will be Render. It just gives the village no data point. When analyzing votes the main question is why person X voted for person Y, even on D1. When person X has already determined they are voting prior to the game it makes their vote impossible to analyze. I think we are just going to have to agree to disagree on this one. |

Twice he has gone after people from the Russia group. So he is higher on my list than others. I am not prepared to vote for Martin. Danny isn't high on my list at the moment, either but he is higher towards mistrust. But Auttumn is the one tweaking me the most of the ones voting for me..

The mind numbing commentary has begun as the announcers begin to discuss some of the favorites this year. Danny, PurdueBrad and Telle are all being discussed as the medal favorites but it could be anyone's to win. It all depends on who wants it more.
Danny, they say, is athletic and skates with precision. Telle is grace on ice. PurdueBrad, they say his flare for dramatics that leave some calling him a diva also leaves many crowds on their feet when the music stops. Time is drawing closer as the stadium begins to fill. |
