Because the village will lynch you anyway when the real Duke comes out, the day will be a wasted lynch, and the duke will have revealed for no good reason. It's really not in the village's best interest to lie about having a role when it isn't true.

I don't see how Simbo gets run up to 6 so easily that soon if he were a wolf. He was also a major candidate almost the whole day.
