I enjoy drafting, when we finish there's no more drafting to be done! I'm not saying to delay on purpose or anything but what's the big rush

Heh, but this one there's actually tons to do after the draft. You'll have to make 4 different starting lineups. And we'll have 4 different voting threads, in which you can explain your strategy and how you'll exploit the other teams.

I was mentioning to someone while discussing this - would be fun to have a "tournament" for each sport. But, I don't see FOFC having the patience to deal with us doing that .

One of the greatest passers in any sport we have ever seen. This should be a benefit in the sports of basketball and soccer.

I'm glad the picks haven't gone on. When I sent in the pick for Young, I had glanced at my list. Jim Thorpe is still counted as baseball. He should be football now. (edit: per the rules) So with that in mind, I have all my football picks.

I need to change my pick to:

Shane Warne, other, current.

Warne is considered one of the best bowlers in cricket history. He's sure to translate into a decent pitcher and he's not a small guy so he should have some athletic ability in other areas too.

Yes, you should now have only 2 picks left. Please send me your final 2 picks unless you're sure you'll be around when it's your turn.

Okay, current clock runs out at 6AM est, when it will be ColtCrazy's turn. If that happens, I'm switching to a 6 hour clock and I'll keep cutting it half with each missed deadline.

I like to be lenient, but this is getting ridiculous.

Subby is skipped. We are now on a 6 hour clock.

ColtCrazy selects from his list:

13.2 Edwin Van De Sar, The Jacks, Soccer, Current

Subby may pick 12.10 and 13.1 at any point.

The one thing our team is missing is a fucking machine. Tiger has been described as robotic in almost almost everything he does.

In all seriousness, dude is a flat out athlete. There is a story of him taking batting practice with Griffey Jr., getting mad because he wasn't hitting balls out, making one adjustment (so it was more like hitting a slice) and then taking balls deep.

I think he also plays some hoop with Jordan and Barkley and is pretty much going to be a quick study in any sport.

Needs no explanation I would hope. At every home game, we'll distribute earplugs to our guys and have Carl sing the national anthem to disorient the other team, an instant advantage in all sports.

13.10 - Gianluigi "Gigi" Buffon - Soccer - Active - With my squad I'll likely struggle against the better soccer squads, figured having the best GK in the world would help counter that.

14.1 - Allison Stokke - Other - ?Retired? - Great on the pole. Team morale. Need I say more? Ok, I will:

Mia Hamm, Soccer, Retired

She is bad ass and will kick field goals for my football team.

Vinnie Jones, Soccer, Retired

You've seen Snatch and Lock, Stock right? Also a super badass.

Is the complaining about the picks or the speed?

Anyway, sorry about Baffon. I searched earlier today for him, but it must have been before larry updated the front page.

13.10 - Olver Kahn - Soccer - Retired - Ok, let's go with one of the best goalkeepers ever. He has wont he IFFHS best Goal Keeper award more than anyone.

I'll likely be out much of the day today, so i am going to post my pick now as Karlifornia can't take him anyway.

14.2 Walter Johnson, Baseball Retired

Pitching speaks for itself and also a good hitter for a pitcher.

I think the women picks kind of show that you arent real interested in winning this thing. As great as women are to look at they just arent anywhere close in athletic ability especially against the greatest male athletes in history.

And Im not so frustrated with the draft speed as I am frustrated for the person running it. I have ran drafts before and it sucks when it starts moving at a snails pace.

You can start sending me lineups once you're done with your final pick. I'd like to have lineups in by Monday if possible. Here are the general guidelines:

Baseball

SP, SP, SP, SP, CL
C, 1B, 2B, SS, 3B, LF, CF, RF

If you plan to have a pitcher hitting in all games, please also not the positions he will sub at during his non-pitching games. Note: each position can only be used once for this purpose, even if you have multiple pitchers hitting.

Football

Will depend on your standard formations. Please use standard designations and send me two separate lists for offense and defense. Example:

QB, WR, WR, TE, RB, FB, LT, LG, C, RG, RT
DE, DT, DT, DE, OLB, MLB, OLB, CB, CB, FS, SS
K/P, KR/PR

Basketball

PG, SG, SF, PF, C

For backups, please select the position(s) they will play when they enter the game, and note if any of them will only play the 5 minute minimum.

Soccer

F, F, W, M, M, W, WB, D, D, WB, GK

Similar to basketball, please note which positions your reserves will sub at, and if you are limiting them to only 5 minutes.

Below your lineups, write up a brief description of the main strategy you plan to use. This shouldn't be too long. You can get into more detail in the voting thread.

I will be opening 4 separate voting threads. We will have a winner in each individual sport. I will rank the winners 1-10 for each sport, and the best overall finisher among all 4 sports will be the winner.
