I believe someone at Harmonix already said the Red Hot Chili Peppers stuff is fake. At this point there are so many false lists floating around that I don't believe anything until Harmonix actually posts it on their website.

Question... I was playing Guitar Hero 2 and the screen came up during loading that said "Remember, NO STAIRWAY." This got me thinking why no Led Zeppelin tracks have been available in the three Guitar Heroes? I know there's no Zeppelin in the default Rock Band either, but not sure about the downloads.
Does anyone know why this is? |

The obvious answer to that question is a licensing issue, with Zeppelin either unwilling to license at any price, or unwilling to license at a price that either publisher is willing to pay.

Yeah, led is very restrictive when it comes their music. It's very rare to see hear their songs in anything. I think they had a song(s?) in Almost Famous because they are good friends with Cameron Crowe.

We Care a Lot is one of my favorite songs, my band even covered it back in high school. It was pretty weird. Wish I had recorded it.

And yet they're cool with being in a Cadillac commercial, or was that a Robert Plant song?

6 songs left until I finish the solo drum career on expert. If I can pull it off it will probably be one of the coolest things I have ever accomplished in a video game. I won't have any trouble with Tom Sawyer or Flirtin' With Disaster. Don't Fear the Reaper, Next to You, Won't Get Fooled Again and Run to the Hills will take a while to get through.

For some reason I had thought that was a given and have been somewhat surprised we haven't seen it yet. Maybe it was just from all the talk on FOFC.

Wow. I am close on hard, but struggling on a couple. If I ever beat them all on expert I will be ready to go get a drum kit. It is probably the best feeling of accomplishment I've ever gotten from a video game. In a grander view of things it doesn't matter if my night elf priest is level 70, but being able to actually hack my way through some songs on drums is pretty damn cool.

Nice Job, I waited to make the jump to Hard, had to go back thru all songs ( including my download ones ) and post 5 stars on everyone. Finnaly did with a min of 97% on ever song on Medium. Man I just cant get 100%, a ton of songs at 98-99% but I always miss 1 or 2 notes Before I start m Hard tour for the hell of it I went onlie to battle last weekend on the drums, first time I did this and it was a blast. After a couple hours my rating was like 17-18... is that decent? Whats the top rating? I only seen 1 person over 20 so I assume 25 might be top. |

I wouldn't worry too much about not being able to achieve perfection on drums. I'm convinced that they aren't as accurate as they could be. I swear there have been times where I've not missed a note, but the damn game says that I did. For the most part I never get that same feeling from the guitar.

I think the rating goes up to 50. I have stayed away from score duel online since I have read that most people quit if they are losing. Nothing more frustrating than playing 6 minutes of a song only to have someone drop at the last minute. I do play a lot of band quickplay online though. |

I just got the PS3 version and I cannot figure out how to play only 2 in local multiplayer. I get to the screen where you check in players and I register the guitar and the drums (me and my daughter) and the only options are back and select. Seems to me it is waiting for the other 2 to join. First, I don't have a second guitar and only 2 of us.
I must be missing something. EDIT AH, just figured it out. There is a continue option that lets you go. Sweet.

As long as you are both signed in there should be an option at the bottom to continue. Local multiplayer defo works with only 2 people. |

It was fun playing with you and your son. Good job at the end playing GG&HT on Hard. I couldn't hear you guys since your son was signed in as a guest - it kills all voice communication on Xbox Live. Definitely fun even with only 2 people. I still prefer Guitar Hero for guitar fun. Maybe its the song selections in RB? Maybe its the way the songs are setup? Even so, my daughter and I had a blast (her on drums and me on the guitar).
Do the songs get better as you delve into this? So far the selection isn't so good.

I can understand they're trying to get more different types out there, but it's just not my thing. We need some arena rock (more Bon Jovi, some Def Leppard, more Bang Camaro, etcetera)

i could understand if the name of the game was "Music Band". but some/most of the songs available on this game are not the first or even 5th songs you think of when you talk about rock music.

I was going to say... what's with the pretty crappy DLC selection? I'll accept some of these songs in the main game since I'm paying for the package. But there's no way I'd pay to play most of the songs released. There are quite a few bands that I like that aren't even represented by one song yet. And then we have bands that have 3 or more songs already. Bah.

I agree... I'm getting tired of the letdown each week with another Police song or Rush song or something of that ilk. Don't get me wrong I like the bands, but there are so many other bands not represented yet! I can only think that it is possibly a licensing issue..... if it's not whoever is in charge of the DLC needs to go (even though the DLC numbers are pretty dang good).

Very cool news on the DLC front. Someone took at peek at the information buried in one of the files in the DLC pack this week and found a ton of unreleased song titles. People have been hard at work pairing the song titles up with their artists:

Tuesday's DLC has already been confirmed:
Stone Temple Pilots—“Sex Type Thing” Weezer—“El Scorcho” Garbage—“Why Do You Love Me” This also pretty much confirms the leaked song list. Definitely getting Sex Type Thing. Have to listen to the other two on YouTube to see if they grow on me. |

I HATE THIS GAME!!!!! I cannot get past the fast part on the drums on Green grass and high tides. I have tried 20 times over the past week. On quick play I can beat every other song including Rush and Molly Hachett but always blow that 1 part on that shitty song!

Actually ended up getting all three songs this week. Surprisingly out of all three of them I enjoyed playing the Garbage song the most. I also tortured Starbuck by getting another Rush song for her to sing. Mwahahahahahaha!
In other news: it took about two months of practice but I have made my way into the top 2000 on the Xbox Live leaderboards for drums. Next up? I get to look silly learning how to play for real in about 6 to 8 months when I actually buy the real thing. Last edited by Ironhead : 02-19-2008 at 10:19 PM. |

Anyone know if there are adapters for PS2 controllers that can be used with Rock Band? I have a couple of PS2 guitars that I would love to use with this game.

I just got back into the states today and had been fiending for some Rock Band. Also my new gum rubber drum pads were waiting for me when I got here. The pads are awesome (although overpriced IMO) they dampen the sound by at least half and I feel like I'm getting better rebound too. It does seem kind of like the hits don't register quite as well any more, but that will probably just take some getting used to.
And Siva is a tough song on drums.
