I did give my players a pat on the back for avoiding defeat (we were the underdogs). That 1 point ensured we would avoid relegation this season.

Now that I'm going to avoid relegation and my standing is more or less set, I'm going to just quickly go through my last few games instead of watching them. I've signed a few (read: poached a few) young players whose contracts were running out and I'm eager to get them in and playing. I'm also eager to get a few of my overpaid dead weight off my books.
April 20th, 2019: Frankfurt (H): Win 4-1. I swear, my team plays better when I'm not watching. Dimitrijevic breaks the team record for goals scored (16). Stoppelkamp held the previous record with 15. April 27th, 2019: Mainz (A): D 1-1. May 4th, 2019: Düsseldorf (H): W 1-0. We send Düsseldorf down to the 2nd division with this win. May 12th, 2019: Augsburg (A): D 3-3. Dimitrijevic gets 2 more and finishes his record goal scoring year at 19. Dimitrijevic finished 3rd for the German Players' Striker of the Year. Last edited by sabotai : 12-18-2014 at 09:06 PM. |

I told my team during the end of season meeting that I'd be aiming for a top half finish next season. They did not seem to think that was realistic...such pessimists...
I keep getting asked about selling Dimitrijevic. Unless I get an offer well into the 8 figures, it's not happening. We got 3 new jersey sponsorship deals. $4.8M, $1.6M and $1.1M to make it $7.5M a year. The board sets the initial budgets at $1.1M p/w payroll and $7.23M transfer. We're already close to the payroll budget so I won't be able to really use that transfer budget, so I will probably convert that to payroll and see if I can't pick up a decent free transfer or two. We were said to be the division biggest overachievers last year in the medias' Bundesliga Review. Uros Dimitrijevic was voted the fans player of the year. I sell GK Danial Martinez for $375.000. H ewould only go if I still covered part of his contract. He was being paid $16k p/w, and we'll still cover $7.75k of his contract (until June 2020, so just one year). Ali Ahamada was injured during practice weeks before any friendlies and will be out 5-6 weeks. Damn, he has no luck... New Signings DC - Franco Caballero - URU - 21yo - 4 / 4 $31k p/w until June 2021. When I originally scouted him, he was 3.5 / 3.5, but my assman has upgraded him to 4 / 4. I saw his contract was expiring so I swooped him and signed him. However, he joins us injured and won't be back until after the season starts. ST / AMR - Juan Pablo Olivieri - ARG - 19yo - 3 / 4.5 $37.5k p/w until June 2021. Like Caballero, he's gained a half star in both spots since I saw his contract expiring and signing him. A better striker than winger, but we'll be sharing time with Clancy in the AMR spot most of the time. On one hand, it's great that both have turned out better than I originally thought. On the other, I have a feeling we are just a rest stop for both of them and that they'll be itching to get out of here in a year or two. I sell my other backup GK Karl-Heinz Schmitt. Hoffenheim gave me $1.2M + 30% of the profit of the next sale. The price was too good. I'm in trouble if Vlach gets hurt, but I'd be in trouble regardless. Speaking of Vlachodimos, I resigned him until 2023. He's now getting $70k p/w this year, plus substantial boosts to his app. fee and shut out bonus. Last season it was $68k p/w, so not much of a raise (he would have gotten a bigger p/w raise on his old contract which gave 15% year raise). And I have sold DR Kristijan Con. His potential once again plummeted and his current did not improve. He dropped to a 2.5 / 3 player according to my assman. Looking at his development, he basically stopped improving back in 2016. I found a sucker, I mean buyer. Köln is paying a transfer fee of $1.8M. I send DC Christopher Thaller on loan again this year. I was going to keep him in house, but with the signing of Caballero, He would have been at best the 5th DC so might has well send him on loan again. Real Madrid made an $8.25M bid for Mohammad Karnib. I countered with $9M and they withdrew. Netolitzky was sold by Leverkusen to FC Bayern. We got 25% of the transfer and received $325k. We sell Wannenwetsch for $500k. These sellings has pushed my transfer budget to $10.6M. Last edited by sabotai : 12-18-2014 at 10:42 PM. |

Lots of players are due for new contracts, and certainly don't want to risk having them sign with other teams in 6 months, so it's time to get a bunch of deals put in place.
Vlachodimos is all set. He's my biggest contract right now. The rest of top players I need to resign AMC Ante Roguljic - He outperformed Bouy when he was healthy last year. DL Ali Ahamada - Still has a lot of potential, and I'm unconvinced that Grasso or Makonda are long term solutions at DL DC Davide Moncelli - Established starter at the position DC Higor - Loads of potential DM Luca Bastians - Heir to Stark's position if he realizes his potential AMR Max Endres - Future star if he fulfills potential DC Kabamba Zola - His stock has fallen (from 4 to 3 in potential). I won't resign if he won't stay for cheap. GK Christoph Stöger - Not that good or high in potential, but I'm out of backup GKs so he's the backup now. July 7th, 2019: Friendly: Cottbus (H) - L 1-2. Stark posted a 4.7 for this match! Don't care that it was a friendly, my guys were horrible out there. We draw BFC Dynamo for the first round of the German Cup Ali Ahamada signed a new deal paying $23k p/w until 2023 Ante Roguljic signed a new deal paying $47k p/w until 2023 Davide Moncelli signs a new deal paying $31.5k p/w until 2024 Higor signs a deal for $28k p/w until 2022 Bastians, Zola and Endres had their contract extension clauses used, so they are good for another year. Christoph Stöger signed a deal for $250 p/w until 2022. And I think that's all of them. July 12th, 2019: Friendly: FC Metz (H): W 3-1. I was all set to transfer a DR that looked very promising. A price of $3.5M, agreed to $28k p/w.....failed his physical (he's currently injured and won't be ready until near the close of the transfer window. Looked back and his injury occurred the day after I made my first bid to his team....you have got to be fucking kidding me....) July 17th, 2019: Friendly: Roma (A): W 2-0. I sold a few clauses from some old transfers to gain ~$3M more dollars. Now I've upped my payroll budget a good bit and have $8M sitting in my transfer budget. July 22nd, 2019: Friendly: Stuttgart (A): L 1-2. I have a young DL named Dominik Richter. He's a 3.5 potential, nothing special, or so I thought. For some reason, Schalke decided they wanted him. Seemed odd, why would a team like Schalke be going after a 3.5 potential player. That set off my warning bells, but when I countered with a $3M transfer, they agreed. Terms were reached. And now I have $3M more after selling a player that I never thought would be better than a career backup. Good luck with that Schalke. July 27th, 2019: Friendly: Dortmund (A): L 0-1. 7 CCCs for my team, 0 goals. Just a friendly, but "ugh". Looking through some of my roster. Tripy Makonda appeared in 23 games and had an Av. Rating of 6.69. Don't think that justifies his $45k p/w salary (bumped up from 441k p/w last season) when I have Grasso and Ahamada. Grasso was in 14 games and had a similar rating. I'll be looking to sell of Makonda. FC Red Bull Salzburg came in right away and offered a Loan. They'll cover 20% of his salary, give a monthly fee of $300k and then another $700k at the end of the season to make the mover permanent. |

German Cup, Round 1 1860 München (Bundesliga) at BFC Dynamo (non-division) Starting Lineup GK Vlachodimos DL Ahamada DC Moncelli DC Touré DR Roberto DM Stark DM Daniel AML Romanenko AMC Roguljic AMR Clancy ST Dimitrijevic In the 19th minute, Roguljic lobs a pass to Dimitrijevic who easily out runs the defenders and gets an easy goal. Dimitrijevic nearly set up a perfect cross in the 28th minute. He was given a long pass from Romanenko, runs up the flank with it, lobs a cross over the GK but it was just a bit too close to the goal line and Clancy couldn't get a good angle on his shot. The GK made the save. In the 34th minute, a near similar situation, except it's a pass from Dimitrijevic to Romanenko, who crosses it perfectly over the GK and defenders in the box and gives Clancy an easy shot to give us the 2-0 lead. In the 36th minute, Roguljic powers a shot into the goal, squeezing it right between the GK and near post. Up 3-0 at half time, figure I might as well get Luca Bastians his first taste of senior squad play and sub him in for Daniel. In the 62nd minute, Dimitrijevic gets a penalty kick and scores. They scored in the 64th minute when their winger sent a strong shot by 3 of my defenders and Vlachodimos. My guys are getting complacent. In the 90th minute, Clancy connects with Dimitrijevic on a short cross which Dimitrijevic heads in for our 5th goal. 1860 Müchen 5 - 1 BFC Dynamo

Bundesliga 1860 München (0-0-0) at Dortmund (0-0-0) Starting Lineup GK Vlachodimos DL Ahamada DC Moncelli DC Touré DR Roberto DM Stark DM Daniel AML Romanenko AMC Roguljic AMR Clancy ST Dimitrijevic They score in the 2nd minute. They had a free kick just outside the penalty area and put one over the wall into the corner of the goal. Dimitrijevic had a great chance in the 8th minute. Their defender made a pass to another defender, Dimitrijevic breaks, intercepts it and shoots, but doesn't get all of it and it slower rolls to the GK. In the 19th minute, their DL passed it back to the GK, but it was a bad pass. Way too slow. Dimitrijevic breaks on it, gets it and puts it in the corner of the goal to tie it up. In the 32nd minute, Stark had come out to help with the winger, the winger passes back to the MC who passes into the box behind Stark who was sprinting back to help, he shoots, it's blocked by Vlachodimos, but they score on the rebound. In the 42nd minute, their MC passes into the box, a pass that goes right by 4 of my guys, and they shoot and score. One thing I just learned. I had changed from Counter to Wall. I didn't realize that when I did that, it reset the Opposition Instructions. Oops. I guess that's why despite going to a more defensive tactic, my defenders stopped marking that guy so tightly... Dennis Busch with the The Dortmund Soccer Informer predicted a draw between me and Dortmund. Seriously, a draw between me and Dortmund!? LOL, what an idiot. 1860 München 1 - 3 Dortmund

Clancy kicks a long pass from the middle of the pitch in the 64th minute. Dimitrijevic beats everyone to it and puts it passed the GK to give us the lead. In the 75th minute, Dimitrijevic gives it to Stark who directs it to Romanenko who gives it back to Stark who puts it in the corner of the goal. Great play! In the 79th minute, Stark gets his second yellow card and we go down a man. I switched to my Wall tactic and put the AMC in the MC position. In the 84th minute, they score. Passed ti around a bit and my goals were always a half step late in reacting. The guy who ended up with the ball in front of the goal had all day to aim his shot. In injury time, their GK made a slow pass to a defender and Dimitrijevic broke on it. Unfortunately, his shot was right to the GK. We were lucky to hold on to the lead. My guys did some bone headed things after Stark's send off. A few times Vlachodimos was way out of position and reacted like his feet were made of cement. 1860 München 2 - 1 Gladbach

I got the DR I wanted. He healed up and I offered a transfer again. Still $3.5M transfer fee but I did a little better on the contract.
DR - Oskar Svensson - SWE - 22 yo - 2 / 4 $27k p/w until 2023. Good overall ratings in most attributes. Doesn't excel at anything, but has decent numbers everywhere. Can also help on offense (dribbling 10, crossing 9 - hopefully they'll tick up a few more points). He does need some games on the reserve squad as his match fitness is terrible now coming off a recent injury. |

I'm in my Counter tactic and I had to uncheck Hassle Opponents. 3 YCs by half time. In the 76th minute, they had a wide open goal, but their player shot the ball directly at one of defenders and it bounces out harmlessly. That was lucky for us. 86th minute, Romanenko hits a beautiful cross to Dimitrijevic who heads the ball off the top crossbar. Ugh, so close! Stuttgart 0 - 1 1860 München

Transfer Deadline Signings
DC - Ryan Torres - USA - 17yo - 2 / 4 $1M transfer bid, $5.25K a week, Hot Prospect Strength: 16, Heading: 15, Jumping 14. I've had him on my shortlist for awhile now and I finally got him. Unfortunately, I won't be getting him for nearly a year (July 2020). But at least he's locked up for me. He wouldn't have played first-team this season anyway. DM - Martin Carmack - CZE - 18yo - 2.5 / 3.5 Free transfer, $5.25K p/w, Hot Prospect I felt pretty set at DM as far as prospects go, but I saw him on the free transfer market and decided to grab him. He's better than Bastians in just about every attribute so it looks like Bastians is heading back to U19 or going out on loan. Now that I'm a bid crowded at DR and DL, Augusto goes out on loan. Well, I suppose my team is pretty much set for now. Any player I can find that's better than what I have is way outside my price range. And the few players I find that are 4+ in current ability are outside my permitted salary range. |

Now that the transfer deadline has passed, a rundown of my roster
Goalkeepers Odisseas Vlachodimos - GRE - 25yo - 3.5 / 3.5 - $70k p/w, 2023 Christoph Stöger - AUT - 17yo - 1 / 2.5 - $250 p/w, 2020 Stefan Betz - GER - 16yo - 4.5 / 2.5 - $85 p/w, 2020 I sold off a few of my GKs and have almost run out of them! I should probably grab a few just in case I get a horrible run of injuries. Stöger has jumped to a 1 star from a 4s player in the last 6 months. Vlachodimos lost a half star in potential and looks to have settled in at a 3.5 player. Central Defenders Franco Caballero - URU - 21yo - 4 / 4 - $31k p/w, 2021 Zargo Touré - SEN - 29yo - 3.5 / 3.5 - $49k p/w, 2021 Kabamba Zola - BEL - 19yo - 2.5 / 3 - $4.9k p/w, 2021 Davide Moncelli - ITA - 22yo - 2.5 / 3.5 - $31.5k p/w, 2024 Christopher Thaller - GER - 18yo - 2 / 3.5 - $1.1k p/w, 2021 - out on loan Higor - BRA - 21yo - 2 / 4 - $28.5k p/w, 2022 Dieter Adam - GER - 16yo - 1.5 / 4 - $85 p/w, 2021 Florian Unde - GER - 17yo - 1.5 / 3.5 - $750 p/w, 2021 Claudio Maier - GER - 19yo - 1.5 / 1.5 - $950 p/w, 2021 - out on loan Andreas Hartmann - GER - 20yo - 1.5 / 1.5 - $1.9k p/w. 2020 Matthias Hampf - GER - 17yo - 1 / 2 - $85 p/w, 2020 Higor lost a half star off his potential, Thaller did as well, but Thaller gained some current ability. Caballero comes in as my best DC but we'll see if he lives up to his scouting report. Some of my young players lost a bit of potential. Dieter Adam gained a bit of ability but the rest seem stuck at 1.5. Left Fullback Tripy Makonda - FRA - 29yo - 3.5 / 3.5 - $45k p/w, 2022 - out on loan Carlos Grasso - ARG - 22yo - 2.5 / 3 - $27.5k p/w, 2022 Ali Ahamada - FRA - 21yo - 2.5 / 3.5 - $23k p/w, 2023 Rochdi Achenteh - MAR - 31yo - 2 / 2 - $40.5k p/w, 2020 Frank Broich - GER - 19yo - 1.5 / 2.5 - $1.5k p/w, 2020 Francisco Javier Lopez - GER - 16yo - 1 / 3.5 - $140 p/w, 2021 Ahmet Mutlu - TUR - 15yo - 5 / 4 - $85 p/w, 2021 Kamil Paprocki - POL - 15yo - 4 / 2.5- $140 p/w, 2021 Can not wait for Achenteh to get off my payroll. Mutlu is my new best prospect. My new DR, Oskar Svensson, can play DL just as well (natural at both) and in fact is better suited for DL because he's left footed. But the plan for now is to keep Ahamada and Grasso there as long as they are playing well. Right Fullback Oskar Svensson - SWE - 22yo, 2.5 / 4 - $27k p/w, 2023 Dimas Roberto - BRA - 20yo - 2 / 3.5- $9.5k p/w, 2021 Augusto - POR - 19yo - 1.5 / 3.5 - $17.25k p/w, 2022 - out on loan José Alberto - GER - 19yo - 1.5 / 2 - $475 p/w, 2020 - out on loan Benno Schmitz - GER - 24yo - 1.5 / 2.5 - $9.5k p/w, 2021 John Okafor - GER - 15yo - 4.5 / 4 - $85 p/w, 2021 Yalçin Önal - GER - 15yo - 4.5 / 3.5 - $140 p/w, 2022 Jamal Rachdi - GER - 17yo - 4.5 / 2.5 - $85 p/w, 2020 Con has been sold and Svensson brought in. Önal and Okafor are the two new prospects. I really hope one of them pans out. I'm tired of DR and DL being the problem positions for me. I haven't had much success at all in these two spots. Daniel - ESP - 23yo - 4 / 4 - $59k, 2022 Yannick Stark - GER - 28yo - 3.5 / 3.5 - $54k p/w, 2021 Martin Cermak - CZE - 18yo - 2.5 / 3.5 - $5.75k p/w, 2023 Marian Schmidt - GER - 16yo - 2.5 / 4.5 - $1.8k p/w, 2021 - out on loan Luca Bastians - GER - 17yo - 2.5 / 3.5 - $1.1k p/w, 2021 Markus Peters - GER - 15yo - 1.5 / 4 - $85 p/w, 2020 Daniel Lehmann - GER - 15yo - 1.5 / 4.5 - $85 p/w, 2020 Stefan Bönig - GER - 17yo - 1.5 / 2.5 - $725 p/w, 2020 Daniel Schwabl - GER - 16yo - 5 / 2.5 - $85 p/w, 2020 Despite the stars, Cermak has better attributes than Bastians in just about every area. and Schmidt has caught up to him too. So far, it's looking like Bastians might be busting. In fact, he lost half a star off his potential, and Schmidt's is still high. Lehmann and Peters are right behind him. Central Advanced Midfielder Ouasim Bouy - MAR - 26yo - 3.5 / 3.5 - $86k p/w, 2021 Ante Roguljic - CRO - 22yo - 3.5 / 4 - $47k p/w, 2023 Robert Neubauer - GER - 15yo - 1 / 4.5 - $85 p/w, 2021 Felix Wallner - GER - 17yo -1 / 1.5- $300 p/w, 2020 - out on loan Kai Teichmann - GER - 15yo - 4 / 3- $85 p/w, 2020 Ferdinand Kinzel - GER - 15yo - 2.5 / 2- $140 p/w, 2021 Neubauer lost a half star from his potential, but it's still high at 4.5 I don't think Bouy is going to be staying much longer. He has a monster contract and Roguljic has been outplaying him. On top of that, when it does come time for him to sign a new contract next year, I'm 100% sure he'll either want to leave for a bigger club or demand a salary way beyond what my board will allow. I'll probably have to sell him sometime next year. Last edited by sabotai : 12-26-2014 at 07:41 PM. |

Left Wingers
Ruslan Romanenko - UKR - 21yo - 3.5 / 3.5 - $48k p/w, 2022 Juan Carlos - ESP - 29yo - 3.5 / 3.5 - $64k p/w, 2022 Dominik Masek - GER - 18yo - 2.5 / 3 - $21.5k p/w, 2021 Ante Tomas - CRO - 16yo - 1 / 2.5 - $85 p/w, 2020 - out on loan Micheal Vogel - GER - 15yo - 5 / 4.5 - $140 p/w, 2022 Romanenko has effectively become the starter as Juan Carlos has dropped a half star in both areas and has not been playing as well. I think the issue could be that Carlos is more suited for Inside Forward, and Romanenko more suited for Winger and I have switched to using Wingers in my tactics. In 2 years, I'll probably have the same problem with Carlos as I'm having with Bouy. Large contract, will want a bigger challenge, will want more money than my board will allow. Unless his stock keeps falling, in which case I wouldn't want him... Vogel is a big prospect. At 15, he's already on the verge of gold star current ability. Right Winger Juan Pablo Olivieri - 19yo - ARG - 3 / 4.5 - $37.5k p/w, 2021 Steve Clancy - ENG - 22yo - 2.5 / 4 - $37.5k p/w, 2022 Max Endres - GER - 17yo - 1.5 / 3.5 - $1.3k p/w, 2021 - out on loan Daniel Hägler - GER - 21yo - 1.5 / 2 - $9.5k p/w, 2020 - out on loan Daniel Freund - GER - 16yo - 5 / 3.5 - $85 p/w, 2021 Matteo Ricci - GER - 16yo - 5 / 3.5 - $85 p/w, 2021 Martin Heinrich - GER - 16yo - 3.5 / 2.5 - $85 p/w, 2021 Clancy has really stepped up his game. I'm guessing he takes to Winger better than Inside Forward because he's been playing very well lately. Olivieri's best spot is ST but I want him in AMR most of the time. But since Clancy is playing so well, I see myself putting Olivieri in at AMR a little less now, but I'll try him at ST when Dimitrijevic needs a break as well. Strikers Uros Dimitrijevic - GER - 19yo - 3.5 / 4.5 - $36k p/w, 2023 Mohammad Karnib - GER - 18yo - 2.5 / 4.5 - $1.5k p/w, 2021 Nils Quaschner - GER - 25yo - 2.5 / 2.5 - $29k p/w, 2021 Niklas Moll - GER - 17yo - 2 / 4 - $85 p/w, 2020 - out on loan Steffen Cuntz - GER - 17yo - 1 / 3 - $85 p/w, 2020 - out on loan Alessandro Repetto - GER - 15yo - 1 / 4.5 - $140 p/w, 2022 Lars Wölfel - GER - 19yo - 1 / 2 - $2k p/w, 2020 - out on loan Tobias Schmidt - GER - 19yo - 5 / 1 - $925 p/w, 2020 Screve Lavie - GER - 16yo - 3.5 / 4 - $85 p/w, 2021 Ferdinand Kinzel - GER - 16yo - 3.5 / 2 - $85 p/w, 2021 Dimitrijevic dropped a half star in current ability...okay. Moll is still improving but he doesn't really fit my scheme. He's a big target man, not a quick player. Repetto is my big time prospect now and Lavie has gained some potential as well. Bundesliga 1860 München (9th, 2-1-1, 7pt) at Hoffenheim (6th, 3-0-1, 9pt) Starting Lineup GK Vlachodimos DL Ahamada DC Caballero DC Touré DR Roberto DM Stark DM Daniel AML Romanenko AMC Roguljic AMR Olivieri ST Dimitrijevic A long pass from Stark into the open field, Roguljic beats his man to it, passes to Dimitrijevic (and gets tripped right as he makes the pass) and he scores. But it's denied. The referee says Roguljic committed a foul and gives him a yellow card. He got it for diving. (Even though it's clear as day on the 3D. The defender slides for the ball and his 3d model literally goes into Roguljic's legs and then he falls. One of my windows says "Deserved his yellow card" so...whatever). Only a few chances for each side in the first half and zero goals. In the 56th minute, Olivieri launches a long cross that connects with Romanenko who puts it in the goal. (After I made the decision to put Clancy in. Right after the goal happens, and before I can cancel it, Clancy runs onto the pitch.) In the 60th minute, they get it back when a weak header goes off Ahamada and into our goal. In the 77th minute, Clancy drills a cross and Dimitrijevic puts it in. They score off a corner in the 84th minute. The initial shot was blocked, but it sorta bounced around until one of their players finished it. Vlachodimos was clueless on the play. They take the lead in the 87th minute when Vlachodimos did his best Rueben Randle impression by letting the ball go right through his hands. Dimitrijevic had a clear chance to tie it in the 90th minute, he just put it wide. This felt like one of those kind of games that makes me rage quit games like Madden. An own goal to keep them in the lead, then 2 goals in which my GK makes two horrible mistakes late in the game to give them the win. 1860 München 2 - 3 Hoffenheim

His shot is blocked but goes wide to Clancy at near point blank range, but his shot is barely sent wide enough by the defender. In the 69th minute, they score after a few chances and my defense couldn't clear the ball. In the 76th minute, Dimitrijevic passes to Romanenko whose shot is blocked by the GK. It rebounds to Clancy on the other side and he puts away easily. We had a lot of clear chances but failed to capitalize. Hertha BSC 1 - 1 1860 München

German Cup, Second Round 1860 München (BL) at Schalke (BL) Just our luck, we draw Schalke...the good news Schalke had a game on the 22nd. I might be facing a tired team. Starting Lineup GK Vlachodimos DL Grasso DC Caballero DC Touré DR Svensson DM Stark DM Daniel AML Romanenko AMC Roguljic AMR Clancy ST Dimitrijevic In the 39th minute, they score after keeping the pressure on and our defense failing to clear the ball. In the first half, I had 4 breakaway chances with 0 goals. On the last one in the 42nd minute, Dimitrijevic was one on one and had blown by the defense. He had no excuse for failing on that one. Finally on the 5th one in the 44th minute, the goal kick went just over the defender and Dimitrijevic had a one-on-one with the GK again. This time he finds the goal. In the 50th minute, Stark to Romanenko in the box, gives it to Dimitrijevic in the middle and easily scores. In the 61st minute, Caballero's header off a corner goes off the crossbar, it bounces around the box a few times until Touré finally buries it to give us a 3-1 lead. I'm both shocked that we beat Schalke and disappointed because we could have easily have put 5 or 6 goals on the scoreboard. My team did play a bit....rough today. I decided that I needed to do what I could to create chances, so Hassle Opponents, Mark Tighter and Stay On Feet were on for most of the game. It seemed to work. 1860 München 3 - 1 Schalke

Bundesliga Augsburg (12th, 1-3-3, 6pt) at 1860 München (9th, 2-2-3, 8pt) Starting Lineup GK Vlachodimos DL Grasso DC Caballero DC Touré DR Svensson DM Stark DM Daniel AML Carlos AMC Roguljic AMR Clancy ST Dimitrijevic Grasso was called for a foul on a corner kick they got a penalty shot in the 42nd minute. Vlachodimos came up with the save. Other than that, there were no threats of anyone scoring. In the 75th minute, a long cross from them with two player wide open. The wide player passes it to the inside guy whose shot is unbelievably blocked by Vlachodimos. We had our one clear cut chance in injury time, but Clancy just couldn't get a shot off before their defender knocked it away. Augsburg 0 - 0 1860 München

Bundesliga 1860 München (9th, 2-3-3, 9pt) at FC Bayern (1st, 7-1-0, 22pt) Starting Lineup GK Vlachodimos DL Grasso DC Caballero DC Touré DR Svensson DM Stark DM Daniel AML Romanenko AMC Roguljic AMR Clancy ST Dimitrijevic The first 15 minutes was an onslaught from FC Bayern. 8 shots, a few of the defended, most off target. My defense made sure to not give them any good looks. In that 75% Poss. attack, they got 1 CCC and 2 HCs. In the 29th minute, Stark passes it to Romanenko who dribbles around their wide defender. A short cross to Roguljic who shoots and score! The GK got a piece of it but not enough. At halftime, they had 17 shots, 5 on target. We had 2 shots. 2 on target. In the 48th minute, a long shot, a bit of a lazy one at that, finds the goal. Had to watch the 3D to see just why the hell Vlachodimos had cement shoes. How dove for it when he didn't really have to. In the 55th minute, a long cross them is shot, blocked, but they get the rebound and bury it. In the 77th minute, they shoot one just over the reach of Vlachodimos, and just under the bar to take the two goal lead. In the 80th minute, they shoot, Vlachodimos saves it, but the rebound goes right back to the shooter who powers one by him. We stayed with them for a while, but the flood gates opened in that last 20 minutes or so. 1860 München 1 - 4 FC Bayern

Bundesliga Schalke (8th, 4-3-2, 15pt) at 1860 München (12th, 2-3-4, 9pt) Starting Lineup GK Vlachodimos DL Grasso DC Caballero DC Higor DR Svensson DM Stark DM Daniel AML Romanenko AMC Bouy AMR Olivieri ST Dimitrijevic Grasso was given a yellow card in the 19th minute. He didn't do anything. Never touched another player. Wasn't close to another player...I watched the 3D several times. Nothing...The "Report" says Grasso "clattered" a player named Clemens, but I went back a full minute and never saw Grasso go anywhere near him. They score in the 43rd minute when Caballero totally fucked up in fielding the ball, giving their attacker a one-on-one with Vlachodimos. We get it back in the 45th minute when Dimitrijevic passes it forward, Romanenko beats the defender to it and puts it in the corner. In the 47th minute, Bouy set up Dimitrijevic perfectly. A one-on-one with the GK and Dimitrijevic just boots it right at the GK... I send Clancy in to replace Olivieri in the 58th minute. In the 66th minute, Olivieri is still on the pitch, but I suppose that's good because that's when Olivieri sends short cross to Dimitrijevic who sends a short lob over the GK and into the goal. In the 78th minute, they send a cross that's headed to the goal. Vlachodimos just gets enough to turn it away, but their player reacts to the rebound faster than Touré does and gets the easy goal. They take the lead in the 86th minute. The winger Grasso was covering passes to the middle, he passes it right back to him as Grasso came off him and gets the easy score. Schalke 3 - 2 1860 München

In the 58th minute, Dimitrijevic intercepts a long pass from their DL to their DC and ends up scoring easily as the GK was not prepared for it. Love having a super fast striker! In the 70th minute, Clancy sends forward a pass to Dimitrijevic who takes it by the DC and scores again. In the 83rd minute, Romanenko sends cross to the goal and Dimitrijevic heads it but it just goes wide. So close to a hat trick. In the 87th minute, Olivieri takes a pass from Stark and sends in a long shot which just catches the upper right corner of the goal. My team needed a game like this. We were starting to fall down the standings and morale was getting a bit low. 1860 München 3 - 0 Köln

Dimitrijevic was named Bundesliga player of the week. Not bad! He's been named to the Team of the week a few times, but this is his first "Player Of The Week" award.

Bundesliga HSV (15th, 2-3-6, 9pt) at 1860 München (11th, 3-3-5, 12pt) Starting Lineup GK Vlachodimos DL Grasso DC Higor DC Touré DR Svensson DM Stark DM Daniel AML Carlos AMC Bouy AMR Olivieri ST Dimitrijevic In the 7th minute, Olivieri sends in a cross, Dimitrijevic shoots it, blocked by the GK and it goes to Bouy. Wide open goal....and he misses. In the 10th minute, Daniel takes the ball away and sends it to Dimitrijevic. He dribbles up to the corner of the penalty area and passes it to Carlos. He drills a shot that goes in despite the GK getting some of it. We go up early 1-0. In the 26th minute, they get a free kick a good distance from the goal. They kick the ball a tad short, their guy gets to it and is essentially one-on-one with the GK because all of my players are bunched up to the side. Easy goal for them to tie it at 1. In the 48th minute, their GK runs wide to get the ball. He sends a long pass that we intercept, Dimitrijevic has it. A good 2/3rds of the goal is wide open to him, but he shoots it to the far side of the goal where the GK is running back to get into position and their GK blocks it. Olivieri has a chance but he takes FOR-E-VER to shoot and by the time he does, it puts it wide anyway. With the chances we had, we should have managed more than 1 goal. Not a good showing. I was offered a job interview with Mainz and turned it down.
November 15th, 2019: Friendly (A) vs Stuttgart. Lose 2-3 Used this game to test out a tactic. Same formation as always. I put Dimitrijevic in at AMC and turn him into a Shadow Striker (at least, that's the idea. He's out playing an international match right now). Everyone else stays the same as in my Counter tactic, but Team Mentality is changed to Control and the Team Instruction Go Route One is turned on. Hard to say how it did though, since most of my players were backups undoubtedly playing a team of Stuttgart backups. It generated 7 CCCs, and we were up 2-0. They didn't score their 3 goals until the 2nd half, and 2 in the last 10 minutes when I had basically a team of 2nd Squad players out there (I had seen enough and really wanted to get my 1st team players off the pitch. Didn't want any injuries). I liked the flow of the tactic so I'll be trying it out in a few games. |

Bundesliga 1860 München (11th, 3-4-5, 13pt) at Kaiserlautern (12th, 3-4-5, 13pt) Starting Lineup GK Vlachodimos DL Grasso DC Moncelli DC Touré DR Svensson DM Stark DM Daniel AML Romanenko AMC Roguljic AMR Clancy ST Dimitrijevic 21 seconds in, Daniel gets yellow carded. In the 12th minute, we kick a corner that gets sent out, but it goes right to Roguljic right outside the penalty area and he buries a shot to give us the 1-0 lead. In the 19th minute, they get it back when Grasso intercepts a pass to the winger, but he can't control it. Grasso was still trying to field it when their player steps up, passes to a wide open winger who sends it passed Vlachodimos and catches the corner of the far end of the goal. In the 22nd minute, Svensson gets yellow carded. The resulting free kick, just outside of the penalty area, catches the top corner of the goal and goes in. In the 25th minute, we get a penalty shot and Dimitrijevic scores to tie it at 2. Roguljic shoots a powerful long shot in the 29th minute that must have caught their GK by surprised because it went right over him. 3-2 lead. My team is failing so many first touch saving throws. Every time they go to intercept it, the ball bounces wildly off them. In the 51st minute, Dimitrijevic dribbles into the penalty area, gets surrounded, passes out to Daniel who I guess wanted to give a long shot a try and he buries one on the corner to give us a 4-2 lead. In the 53rd minute, Grasso is red carded (not YC'ed twice, just red carded). Told by the game that he deserved it. I moved Daniel to DL and sub Ahamada in for him. So now I'm in a 4-1DM-3-1. I also decide to go defensive and switch to my Wall tactic, with Stark as an Anchor Man. In the 62nd minute, again their free kick just outside the penalty area goes into the corner of the goal. In the 64th minute, Roguljic passes to Dimitrijevic who has a one-on-one with the GK and he puts it just wide. So close. In the 65th minute, Touré failed his first touch check on a pass he intercepted. Of course, he had to vacate his area to make that play leaving a striker wide open because I'm down a man. Otherwise, Daniel would have been there and Touré would have remained back. They score when their player fields Touré's attempted intercept and passes to the wide open man who had all day to score. It was essentially a penalty kick. Somehow, the bleeding stops and we manage to hold on to a 4-4 draw. We even had a few chances to steal it near the end. 1860 München 4 - 4 Kaiserlautern

I have players that push the limits sometimes. Stark is one. They get yellow carded a lot, but they don't, IMO, cross that line into thuggery. Grasso absolutely did. The description of what he did was "Grasso hacked down Ivo Simov with two feet!". Unacceptable. I am considering just cutting my loses with the guy. In 9 games, he's been yellow carded 5 times and now red carded once. I fined him 2 weeks salary for the send off. To my surprise, he accepted the fine saying he deserved it. Maybe he can be redeemed. He's on a short leash from now on. AFAIC, Grasso cost us 2 points in this game. He needs to play out of his mind to make that up to the team. |

Bouy hasn't seen much action this year. He was out for some time with injury, and I've been reluctant to take out Roguljic. I've been on the fence about keeping Bouy due to his high salary. Now, he's as good as gone.
My scouts found an AMC by the name of Karlo Vera. He's Peruvian, and he looks like the real deal as far as AMCs go. At 19 years old, he already has better attributes than Roguljic or Bouy in most areas. He does suck at crossing...but I doubt he'll need to do that much with me. He also has very good shooting attributes, so I can seamlessly move into and out of my Shadow Striker tactic without moving the AMC around when he's in. Here's the thing. When I sent an enquiry, his current team in Romania told me that he wasn't for sale for any price. Thinking they tell me "Ok, how about $35 million" as a response, I sent a token $7.5M offer. They accepted. Which means I probably could have gotten him for a lot less. Oops. (He's valued at $2.9M right now, but is still young). This just about empties my transfer budget (was ~$9M). Roguljic is still the man. It's clear to me it takes a player at least a year to acclimate to a new team. That's how long it took Daniel to start putting in good performances consistently. Caballero is very streaky right now, but I anticipate that improving in the 2nd half of the season. Clancy's first season averaged 6.64, his second 7.00. He's having a down year so far at 6.70. The point is, I know Vera will take some time. And, I definitely need to make sure I have 2 top notch AMCs at any given time. I hope Roguljic and Vera will be splitting time for the next decade. AMC Karlo Vera - PER - 19 yo - 3.5 / 4 - $19.5k p/w to 2024 Dribbling: 16, First Touch: 16, Passing: 16, Technique: 18, Finishing: 15, Long Shots: 13. Determination: 18, Flair: 16. He's got all the tools to be a fantastic AMC for me, but he does need to improve several mental attributes that are 10-12 like Composure (10) and Positioning (12) He'll join my team on January 1st, 2020. |

Bundesliga Werder Bremen (5th, 7-3-3, 24pt) at 1860 München (11th, 3-5-5, 14pt) I have a German Cup game 2 days after this....and it's a team way better so...I'm phoning it in. Starting Lineup GK Vlachodimos DL Ahamada DC Higor DC Touré DR Roberto DM Daniel DM Cermak AML Carlos AMC Bouy AMR Olivieri ST Karnib In the 4th minute, Carlos sends a long cross in that Bouy cuts off and heads in to give us an early 1-0 lead. In the 50th minute, the kick a corner, their player heads it but doesn't get hit it well. The loose ball is buried by their player to tie it at 1. In the 90th minute, Karnib was given a great chance but his shot goes wide by maybe an inch. So, so close. Thrilled we got the 1 point draw with Werder Bremen. They had a ton of shots, but didn't get many clean looks. Werder Bremen 1 - 1 1860 München

German Cup, 3rd Round 1860 München (BL) at Aue (2.BL) Starting Lineup GK Vlachodimos DL Grasso DC Moncelli DC Caballero DR Svensson DM Stark DM Lehmann AML Romanenko AMC Roguljic AMR Clancy ST Dimitrijevic In the 2nd minute, Roguljic passes a free kick to Clancy who takes it wide and then powers a long shot by the GK and into the goal. 1-0 early lead (early leads are becoming a common theme in my matches) Moncelli scores off a corner in the 13th minute to make it 2-0. In the 27th minute, Roguljic scores off a free kick by catching the top corner of the goal to make 3-0. In the 41st minute, Romanenko sends in a long cross that Roguljic heads in to make it 4-0. In the 56th minute, Dimitrijevic gives it to Romanenko who scores. At this point, I've already put my team in Defensive. Not sure how to pull back any more. I send it down to Contain. In the 59th minute, they cut down the lead a little to make it 5-1. In the 80th minute, Dimitrijevic got dinged. No taking any chances, I pull him and send in Karnib. We finally cracked through the 3rd round of the German Cup, thanks in part to a favorable draw. Whatever, I'll take it. 1860 München 5 - 1 Aue

Bundesliga 1860 München (12th, 3-6-5, 15pt) at Frankfurt (9th, 5-6-3, 21pt) Starting Lineup GK Vlachodimos DL Ahamada DC Moncelli DC Touré DR Svensson DM Stark DM Daniel AML Romanenko AMC Bouy AMR Clancy ST Dimitrijevic We get a goal in the 9th minute when one of their players headed our corner too close to his own goal. It went off the post and into the net. He was trying to defend against Moncelli. In the 20th minute, a loose ball goes into their penalty area. Dimitrijevic and the GK race for it...and the GK wins by a hair. In the 31st minute, Romanenko lobs a pass over their DC to Dimitrijevic who then gets a one-on-one with the GK and puts one him to give us the 2-0 lead. By halftime, Dimitrijevic had been injured twice. Not bad enough to force him out of the game, but I decided to send Karnib in at halftime. In the 68th minute, they send in a cross. Moncelli heads it first, but he just gets a piece of it. The ball pops straight up, and their player sends it into the goal. In the 74th minute, they score on a long cross. Their player had gotten behind Touré and heads the ball in easily. In the 86th minute, they score when their winger dribbles right by Ahamada and scores. During injury time, Karnib takes a pass from Stark that gives him a one-on-one with the GK, but it's called offsides. Karnib was in an offsides position but had gotten onside right before the pass, so unless I'm not understanding how offsides works, that means he was onside and the ref was wrong. 1860 München 2 - 3 Frankfurt

Bundesliga Nürnberg (14th, 3-4-8, 13pt) at 1860 München (12th, 3-6-6, 15pt) Starting Lineup GK Vlachodimos DL Ahamada DC Caballero DC Touré DR Svensson DM Stark DM Daniel AML Romanenko AMC Dimitrijevic AMR Clancy ST Olivieri Trying out that new tactic. At least for the first half. They score in the 39th minute after a long cross is headed in. Caballero was out jumped. We actually got a decent amount of offense going in that half, but not a lot of coordination between players. I put Roguljic in at half time (move Dimitrijevic to ST, Olivieri to AMR and sub out Clancy). In the 67th minute, Roguljic gives it to Dimitrijevic who splits the defenders and scores. They head in a goal in the 70th minute off a corner. This time Moncelli was beat. The guy he was defending got position on him and had no chance. In the 73rd minute, their shot bounces off the top bar, doesn't really react, my defense doesn't react, and their player steps up and buries the shot. I guess I totally fucked up my team with the first half tactic. I'm in my usual tactic for the 2nd half and they all look like they have no fucking clue what to do. The game seems to place the blame of that last goal on Svensson. It wasn't until the end of the game that I realized I forgot to set any Opposition Instructions (in either half). I wonder if that had such a big effect on my players... Nürnberg 3 - 1 1860 München

In the 22nd minute, Moncelli on the corner scores for us to tie the game. In the 26th minute, a long pass from Dimitrijevic to Romanenko, Romanenko takes it around the defender and squeezes his shot between the GK and the post to give us the 2-1 lead. Dimitrijevic had a point blank shot in the 53rd minute and sends it off the post. That was embarrassing. Clancy puts the game away for us in injury time. Caballero, while up near the middle of the pitch, launched a lob pass to Clancy who had no one around him. He dribbles it forward and buries a shot in the far corner to gives us the 3-1 win. 1860 München 3 - 1 Mainz

After a long free kick, the ball gets kicked around inside the penalty area a few times before their player gets it and shoots it by Vlachodimos. They score again in the 17th minute. Their player dribbles forward, passes to someone in the penalty area who scores easily. I set Team Instructions for Use Tighter Marking. In the 44th minute, they send a free kick over the wall and into the corner of the goal. At this point they have 19 shots and I have 0. Daniel was injured in the first half and I had to send in Cermak. Everyone is having a shitty game yet I can only take out 1 (2, but then I won't have a sub in case someone else gets injured). In the 81st minute, Dimitrijevic intercepts a long pass from the GK to a defender. One-on-one with the GK, Dimitrijevic puts one in the corner to make it 1-3. 1860 München 1 - 3 Leverkusen

Bundesliga Gladbach (17th, 2-6-10, 12pt) at 1860 München (13th, 4-6-8, 18pt) I'm so happy Gladbach is doing badly. Serves you right Kirchhoff. Starting Lineup GK Vlachodimos DL Grasso DC Moncelli DC Touré DR Roberto DM Stark DM Cermak AML Romanenko AMC Vera AMR Olivieri ST Dimitrijevic Gladbach is playing a 4-2DM-2MC-2ST formation. Looks kinda like a top hat. Will make going down the middle very difficult I think so I tell my team to Exploit the Flanks and to Play Wider. In the 44th minute they score when they pass into the penalty area and their guy beats my defender (Moncelli). Here's the thing, Moncelli was ahead of him and was easily going to beat him to it, but then suddenly, he slows down for no reason and their player blows by him and gets to it first and scores. That did not look normal on the 3D and looked like some voodoo magic or something. There was no reason for him to slow down when he was chasing a ball at that angle. It's not like he was in front of it and was waiting for it to get to him and someone crossed in front of him, he was still running it down at ~90 degree angle, their player running directly behind him and their player blows by when he inexplicably stopped....(it was similar to rage-quit Madden level absurd looking). When I saw it on 2D first (which is what I watch when watching the match), I was sure it was going to be called a foul... Stark usually manages to get a good match rating, but he misses on medium to long range passes constantly! It's like a not so good QB getting a good QB rating. The stats say he's good, but when you watch him you just think "This guy can't throw the ball 10 yards down the field, how the hell can he have a career 94.5 QB Rating!?" I'm fucking tired of seeing Stark turn the ball over. "Yannick Stark has misplaced many of his passes straight to the opposition" is becoming a running theme on my Analysis - Feedback screen, yet every game 6.8, 7.0, 7.1 ... I don't know what happened to Touré. He started off the year well but for the last few months he's been total shit. They score in the 61st minute. Moncelli stepped up to try to intercept a pass. He didn't and they passed around a few times as my defense reacted to one less DC in the area until they scored. Hard to really get on him, though. He's stopped their offense and helped create offensive chances by doing that (or so says the Feedback page "Davide Moncelli has been making some crucial interceptions for us") In the 70th minute, Romanenko sends in a cross and Vera puts it in to cut their lead in half. In the 74th minute, Vera passes to Romanenko on the outside who brings it inside and blasts one by the GK to tie the game up. Whatever "Bossing the midfield" means, that's what Vera is doing this match. You know, it kinda annoys me when I see other people (and I'm talking about all games, not FM) constantly complain about "cheating AI" but I really do feel like with that first goal, I lost to "the game" rather than an opposing team. I didn't get any feedback for what happened. Was he grabbed and the foul went all called? Did he just slip? Anything? Nope, the only thing in the Report is "STEPINSKI SCORED FOR GLADBACH!" After I went down 0-2, I moved Stark and Cermak from DM to MC and switched Vera to a Shadow Striker and put my Team Mentality to Attacking. That seemed to spur my guys into action. Gladbach 2 - 2 1860 München

The transfer deadline came and went without selling anyone. No one wanted Bouy or Touré.
Touré is going to see a lot less action. Bouy....you know, it might be time for Stark to miss some games. Bouy is going to get a shot at redemption and we'll see how well he does in the DM role. EDIT: Actually, after thinking about it, it makes a lot more sense with Daniel injured to move Stark to the BWM role and put Bouy in at the DLP. Let's try that! Bundesliga 1860 München (13th, 4-7-8, 19pt) at Stuttgart (10th, 7-5-6, 26pt) Starting Lineup GK Vlachodimos DL Grasso DC Moncelli DC Caballero DR Svensson DM Bouy DM Stark AML Carlos AMC Roguljic AMR Clancy ST Dimitrijevic Roguljic heads in a goal in the 10th minute off a cross from Carlos. Grasso fouls a player in the penalty area and they tie it off a penalty kick. They score on a header off a corner kick in the 23rd minute. Caballero was covering the guy, but he decided to let him go and cover someone else while the ball was in the air and not going anywhere near the guy he ran to cover... They score in the 28th minute. They passed it around a bit, my defense bunched up in the middle of the penalty area, they pass it to the winger "covered" by Svensson who puts one in the corner. They score again in the 43rd minute. This time Grasso was sitting way inside so their winger had all day to line up his shot and drill it. They score a 5th goal in the 45th minute off a free kick. Their player was wide on the far side, looked a bit offsides to me, but he gets the ball unchallenged and knocks the ball in easily. At this point I don't care. I'm letting my players collect their < 6.0 rating. Grasso at 5.5, Svensson at 5.5...fuck 'em. They stay in. Let's go for under 5.0. Svensson commits a foul in the penalty area in the 66th minute so they get another goal off a penalty kick. They score in the 71st minute. Their first shot was blocked but it went straight back to the shooter and he got a second chance and buried it. All I did was put Stark in at BWM and Bouy in at DLP. Everything was my typical Counter tactic. 1860 München 1 - 7 Stuttgart

That one goal in the last game was bad enough, but in this game I saw just stupidity and oddities on a level I haven't seen before. I don't watch soccer, so I'll just go ahead and believe that the dumb things my players did in the game are believable...as hard as that is. I did see another instance of one of my players moving...in an impossible way. Roguljic was sitting, waiting for a pass to come to him. Their player was right next to him and a little behind, and suddenly his running animation kicks in, and he moves backwards at near top speed towards the middle of the penalty area. Their player kicks the ball to safety. I also saw the ball warp ~5 yards once when their player was down injured. The loose ball was headed towards their player and one of mine. Their player had position and was likely to beat my guy to the ball anyway, but then the ball suddenly warps 5 yards towards their player and he kicks it out of bounds. I don't know....makes me wonder if I should just go back to not watching the games at all. It seemed like every 5 games or so I'd see something weird but I'd just push it to the side telling myself I don't watch soccer so I can't say if something is realistic or not and physics oddities just happen in a complex game. It's a game, the programmers aren't going to be perfect and odd shit will happen from time to time, even things that defy physics....the last 2 games, though? I don't know... On another note, it's clear I made a lot of mistakes building this team. I've been sloppy in who I sign with regards to languages. Caballero, Oliveri and Moncelli are having problems because they don't speak German. Grasso speaks Spanish and German, so Spanish speaking Vera isn't having that much trouble. No surprise then that Caballero, Olivieri and Moncelli are drastically under performing. I've also relied way too much on young players with potential. Right now my staff rates Svensson as 2 stars. That's not good enough to play Bundesliga. But his potential is 4 stars...and I don't have a quality DR to play in front of him. The last guy was another young guy full of potential who didn't work out. |

Bundesliga Dortmund (2nd, 12-2-6, 38pt) at 1860 München (13th, 4-7-9, 19pt) Starting Lineup GK Vlachodimos DL Grasso DC Touré DC Higor DR Roberto DM Stark DM Cermak AML Romanenko AMC Vera AMR Olivieri ST Dimitrijevic In the 23rd minute, Dimitrijevic knocks the ball by their defender. the GK starts to come out to get it, but Dimitrijevic is there much faster and puts it by the GK to give us the 1-0 lead. They get it back in the 25th minute. Passing it around, they get it to a guy who scores from near point-blank range. Cermak was covering him, but came off him for a few seconds. That's all they needed. In the 44th minute, Olivieri steals it, gives it to Dimitrijevic, gives it back to Olivieri, gives it to Vera, wide open Romanenko....flubs the shot. I "love" how it seems like 98% of the time one of my players fields a long pass, he knocks it juuuuuust far enough away to give their defender time to get to it too. Ugh, again the balled warped. Cermak passed to Roberto. The ball hits off Roberto's foot and bounces away a bit. He starts moving towards it, and the ball warps a few yards to their player who hits it out of bounds...just like last game, one of their players was hurt. Not that it matters, my guys always boot the ball out of bounds when they have an injured player anyway (a courtesy the AI team never returns to me). In the 82nd minute, Vera passes to Olivieri who is wide open, running full speed to the ball (their defenders caught flat footed) and could walk to their goal with a one-on-one with the GK...Olivieri who has a 17 rating for dribbling starts knocking the ball all over the place, comes nearly to a full stop every time he touches the ball and then reacts, their defenders catch up and send the ball harmlessly away.....I just don't fucking get it. In the 90th minute, Vera lobs a pass to the left side of the penalty area, Carlos gets there first and powers a shot by their GK to give us the late 2-1 lead. Destroyed by Stuttgart, pull off the 2-1 win over Dortmund. Yup, I can't figure this game out...I switched from my Counter tactic to my Wall tactic when it was 1-1. Dortmund 1 - 2 1860 München

Bundesliga Hoffenheim (10th, 9-2-10, 29pt) at 1860 München (13th, 5-7-9, 22pt) Starting Lineup GK Vlachodimos DL Grasso DC Moncelli DC Caballero DR Roberto DM Bouy DM Stark AML Carlos AMC Roguljic AMR Clancy ST Dimitrijevic In the 16th minute, they kick a corner. The initial shot was blocked but goes right to one of their players who scores. Carlos Grasso "mistake led to a goal". In the 34th minute, Dimitrijevic had a point-blank chance. He trapped the ball and tried to shoot instead of redirecting the ball but he took too much time. Seconds later, in the scramble for the ball, Roguljic commits a foul and gets yellow carded. In the 55th minute, they kick a free kick, their player takes it and goes a bit wide. Vlachodimos stays cemented to the middle of the goal and their player shoots it in the near corner. Roguljic scores in the 66th minute off a cross from Romanenko. Dimitrijevic had a one-on-one with the GK in the 70th minute but shoots it right to him. In the 90th minute, their player gets hurt and sends a long pass up the pitch. Svensson chases it down but immediately puts it out of bounds deep in our end. Come on...I'm all for sportsmanship but at least boot the fucking thing down the pitch or dribble it up and put it out at midfield. Don't just give it to them deep in our end.
