I took EF's post to mean that any vanilla role has the potential to become something else. GE's post is therefore either 1.a joke, 2.a claim that he is currently vanilla or 3. An bad attempt by scum to appear town, as scum may not have been fully aware of the potential for roles to change.

I have been trying to reconcile my theory on the game mechanics (past, present, future) and how actual in-game day plays its role. EF has made it clear that once a player is dead, he is dead and out of the game.

Here's my thought on that, using our already voted out mau as the example.

I believe that until we move to a time in which mau's death has occurred, he will continue to be in the game and able to participate fully. Once we move to a time at which he is dead, he will then be dead and unable to participate.

So if we assume mau is dead in the "present" (currently Day Two) and "future" (currently Day Five), he will be officially dead once we move to the present or the future. I would guess that moving to those times likely locks in that result and it cannot be changed by changing events in the past.

So if we don't "save mau" by voting out a mau voter today, enabling another player to be killed on Day One in his stead and we move to the present or future, mau's death will be realized and no later moves to the past to kill of mau's voters will save him from his Day One lynch.

The way I think of it, having a "no going back" point is absolutely necessary in EF's game, for otherwise, this game could go on forever, as teams bounce between past and present, attempting to change results that occurred in the present or future.

Temporal mechanics makes my head hurt, but I like your points. They seem sensible. Which of course means they're probably too simplistic .

Reading back over the thread this morning he just struck me as solid - none of the things that were pinging other people struck me, so he just personally doesn't seem like a good choice to me.

Kind of a strange move, you had a valid point regarding my vote and the other two, but then voted for Jackal with less reason when there was (and is) enough time to see if you could get some traction for your idea. And I say that even though I think Jackal is a decent vote and I feel a bit better than neutral about you.

For my part, I can say I was around long enough to see that DT posted, but I got pulled away and didn't change my vote prior to deadline. I stubbornly stuck with DT because I liked him as a vote moreso than the other two that were up who were basically easy votes, even if I agree that getting rid of non-contributors will probably make for a more fun game. And I would hope Schmidty is going to be replaced after being a no-show for most of the first couple days.
