That ties us up. EF 6, mccollins 6, PB 4.

A run to protect PB now?

You're right, that was odd, too. Render questioned him on it. I understand loyalty to friends, but like Render said, this is WW.

i woudlont read too much into it. but he has said this in 3-4 other games, and it is a day one vote, if it was day 3-4 that would mean something!

Looks like they are protecting PB... but it is too early in the game for this run. Might just be a coincidence, but I dont like it.

I have no idea if we're making a good/bad vote here, so I'm inclined to let my vote ride.

And I'm preparing for chaos at 8:59 when everyone and their mom's decide to personally make sure there isn't a tie.

But if these votes mean nothing, why are we all switching around? I feel that wolves are manipulating this somehow, and it might not become obvious for a while.

I certainly wasn't trying to protect PB, I was just agreeing with Alan that it seemed like the other two were being protected.

Is Eaglefan here? His vote isn't on one of the other candidates. I think he said he was going out for a bit earlier, don't recall if he said he would be back.

Exactly.

Villagers know NOTHING at this point. There is no real reason to be switching votes this late if you're a villager (except to break a tie - certainly not to create one).

I don't see the reason for the votes on EF, I'd switch to PB if needed, but not to EF.

I'm off to have a late dinner, I'll be back after deadline - hopefully we manage to lynch someone, and hopefully that someone turns out to be a wolf...

I really hate to do that as I see no reason to vote for him yet but I need to save my butt at this point. I'll know who to look at with the votes on me though.

I don't understand this post. There's not a real reason for votes on anyone at this point, is there?

So why would you switch to PB but not EF?

I have been through Santa Cruz a couple times on my way up to the Bay Area. Seems like a nice area. I have always liked the central coastal California areas like Carmel/Monterey and around there up to SF.

That's what makes those last switches so insane, especially on Day One. Because no one but wolves should be making those moves, and only to save one of their cohorts. But here we are. Are we all wolves? I swomehow doubt this is Alan's reverse wolf game all over again.

My vote on McCollins was placed only because he voted for me, no other reason. It just seemed odd that there was such a run on EF. When I made my original comment about switching, PB and Mc were the only two in danger, so I didn't mind moving my vote to ensure a lynch. But with three in the mix, it changes things...

Comedy...would be looking back on this and seeing that all the wolves voted early and left for the day, so it was all just villagers providing each other with heartburn and what not.

Heh...usually Day One is on Monday, and I always work then. It's different to actually be here for the deadline.

Well, to be fair, mccollins had seven voters, not just jets. Or are you saying you're relatively satisfied with the reasons for the other votes, but not jet's? I don't actually recall his reasoning.

No, it was just that it was so much earlier than the others. He implied it was random when he made the vote, but since I've not played with him I'd like to hear his reasoning.

OK, now that the other game is over I can finally say why I voted for PB.

He cost his team the win in that one and it was illogical to do so.

Now, in my opinion, on day one we don't know if we're getting a wolf or a villager so it's hard to really pick who to lynch but if we can pick a bad player, one that in the face of overwhelming logic picks wrong, then losing him is no big loss and if he's a wolf big gain.

Hoopsguy's opinion ( now mine as well ) sealed the deal.

Quote:
My PB villager impressions are steady, persistant player. Willing to think things through, usually ends up in right place midgame. And impossible to shake once he is convinced of an idea, often to my dismay.

I think that was clearly born out in that game and I don't think it's a quality I want in a fellow villager.

I find that rather suspicious, granted its probably just personal influence entering into an impersonal arena, but I'd like to hear more as to why you shouldn't go for one of them?

I'm still catching up so I hope I'm not dead...

It's just the way I've always played here. I know it stinks to get kicked out of the game on day 1 and have to watch and be silent for a week or two so I prefer not to do that to the few online acquaintances I have here.

If no one is suspicious and it's all just random on day 1 then I'm not going to try to boot my buds out of the whole game for no reason.

Dola, though to be fair there was some distance between EF's first vote and the next two (which I was part of) so really I'm just throwing darts randomly. You know how I hate day 1's....

Axxon, in the case of the other game (assuming PB is the sorc) PB ended up in the wrong place. I would say that isn't the norm for him, but he is tough to move off a fully-formed opinion and I completely get your frustration.

Someone else will unwittingly screw you out of a win in the next 2-4 games and they can then move to the top of your Day 1 vote list Hopefully I'm not that guy.
