Can you guys tell I'm getting a lot of teaching done today? Hmmm, wish I really was on a cruise!

Thanks very much. But your itchy voting trigger finger has me suspicious!

I'm holding my vote until I see some more info / good arguments.

I agree that it's not a good idea to vote off a new player on their first day. Definitely not going to be voting for mccollins. That being said, I really have no idea who to vote for at this point. Can anyone tell me why the votes are on clap instead of path when they were both at the same place?

Well, for me, I'm working with the theory that path is dead, so I'm not voting for him. Others are thinking he might be alive for some reason, but I don't really understand why. Whatever happened to path, I think people are blaming clap for it, since he was in the same place as path. I don't buy it, though -- this happened after we were all back on the boat.

"Y'think Sharky the friendly shark got 'im? Since there is no body, one could state he's still alive and thus suspicious, it may make sense to vote him off - mr.path I mean. But it feels so wasteful, like a no vote on someone that hasn't returned."

Yes. With no other decent reason to vote for someone, it's good to go after the ones that aren't really contributing to the discussion, IMO.

I agree with the last part -- how do you plan to lynch him, if he's not here?

And yeah, if he didn't make it back to the boat, he's probably a goner. I guess it's a bit morbid of me, but how many people do you lose on a normal cruse? 30? 40?!

I was also at the Fiesta Boat party and saw st. cronin and Lathum there, having a good time, as well.

I did not get any indication that the drugs that were available would do anything to cause someone to become a wolf. I did not want to spend all my money on them, so I'm not positive, though.

In any case, my loose CoT (for now) is St. Cronin and Lathum.

No lynch is not a valid vote for this game. A No lynch is the same as not voting. There is no penalty gamewise for not voting.

Clap, I don't see no lynch as an option, which is too bad because I think it's a more viable option in this game than most, since I'm not convinced that all of the wolves are wolves at this point.

I have some thoughts on what the drugs might be for. But I am unclear from your post - did you in fact buy them or not?

Actually.... Don't answer that unless it's already been stated in the thread. It's too early to reveal too much info, IMO. But if you already posted the answer earlier and I missed it, please refresh my memory.

I'm not sure if Sonic Youth is a new player (to FOFC) or not since this is my first game in a while, but I don't see where he went or anyone who can vouch for him after a quick scan through the thread. He put a vote on ntndeacon that was perhaps a throwaway vote, but I will

VOTE SONIC YOUTH

Maybe he can explain where he went.

My answer was purposely vague.

Hopefully that will help me communicate with and/or evaluate St. Cronin and Lathum down the road.

Ok, I went back through and tallied up where everyone went and who had not stated where they went. I'll post my thoughts in a follow-up post.

1) The Jackal - MAYAN RUINS
2) Nfg22 - SNORKELING (1 of 2, found necklace, wearing it)
3) Path12 - BEACH, no options, didn't make it back on boat
4) jeheinz72 - JEEP SAFARI (1 of 3)
5) Barkeep49 - CANOE (1 of 2)
7) Lathum - "drank alot" on FIESTA BOAT PARTY
8) claphasma - "got drunk on the BEACH"
9) Passacaglia - MAYAN RUINS
10) St.Cronin - "I've been known to experiment (with drugs)" on FIESTA BOAT PARTY
11) Hoopsguy - SHOPPING
12) PurdueBrad - CANOE (1 of 2)
13) Raiders Army - MARINE PARK (not alone)
14) oliegirl - SHOPPING
15) Sonic Youth - asked if we could vote for Path (or the shark)
16) ntndeacon - MARINE PARK
17) mccollins - MAYAN RUINS
18) Chief Rum - JEEP SAFARI (1 of 3)
19) Qwikshot - JEEP SAFARI (1 of 3)
20) TazFTW - SHOPPING
21) Anxiety - SNORKELING ("only one other there")
6) Swaggs - "This applies to me, as well" in re: to having choices as mentioned by Cronin. FIESTA BOAT PARTY
22) Kwhit - MAYAN RUINS

OPTIONS:
- Explore the RUINS of the ancient MAYAN city of Tul'um
- Chankanaab National MARINE PARK
- Sit back and relax in the white sand of Playa Mia BEACH
- Take a JEEP SAFARI adventure through the tropical landscape of Cozumel's east side.
- Join the FIESTA PARTY BOAT for a fun-filled trip to Playa del Sol with margaritas, rum punch and a live band
- Take a two-person CANOE to a private peach paradise, Passion island
- SNORKEL in the clear sapphire-colored water around Cozumel's coral reefs.
-Go SHOPPING in Cozumel

The only ones that seem odd enough for a vote are:
- Sonic Youth not telling where he went even though every single other person has done so.
- Claphamsa appears to be the only other person at the beach besides Path12.
- The Fiesta Boat Party. Lathum and Cronin never really said they were on this, only told us about the drinking and drugs options. Swaggs somewhat outed them by saying they were there too. From reading the indirect statements, it appears that only Cronin experimented with drugs.

No vote yet, but I've actually got my eye on that 3rd situation.

Good point on the Fiesta Boat party. I'd say that that warrants interest as well as Sonic Youth's declination of saying where he went. I think clap is the convenient scapegoat for path's disappearance.

100% agree with this and I'm not all that close to casting a vote. If time permits I'll end up casting one but I have zero confidence in a vote ... at least up to the time of the quote that I reference above.

The fact that he won't say where he went bothers me, and it seems unnecessary at this early stage of the game, especially considering all of us has been very open about where we went and what we saw. This draws my suspicion more than anyone else in the game right now.

"New thought...what if, what if attacks are only triggered by number of people...what if wolves were sprinkled among the groups...now I know it seems that clap has a poor alibi because no one seems to be claiming to have seen him at the beach, but that's just it isn't it...either a wolf was along with clap and path and off'd path while clap snoozed drunkily on the beach, or it was just clap and path at the beach and clap saw the chance to off path....scapegoat or not, it's just so obvious it screams it...who has been silent, oh yes margarita please, gracias...I'm sure that if one of the other groups was small, like the canoe trip, that it would've resulted in the death of one of us passengers...I wouldn't rule out the canoe trip but either a)purdue and barkeep are passengers or b) they're wolves, the other groups had multiple people probably too many for an easy kill. I see three shoppers, three safari guys, two snorklers (again, it may have been an option to kill or not). So with all of that, I'm ruling out the no lynch/no vote...and I'm hoping that clap doesn't take this the wrong way, but it just seems too suspicious..."

Thanks for re-explaining PurdueBrad.

I was going to vote Cronin for taking drugs (on the theory that that could have made him do something against his will), but I'm with Passacaglia - until Sonic Youth explains their whereabouts:

That you and Cronin never explicitly mentioned you were on the boat party; Swaggs outed that detail. Previously, I thought you two might have been on the beach where Path was.
My larger suspicions were directed toward the drugs Cronin experimented with.

However, as you can see by my vote, I've gone in another direction.
