As tends to be the case with BB/BCS, the show is really cranking it to 11 for the last few episodes of the season.

If you've put it down, it might be a good time to pick it back up and catch up.

It is. And Rhea Seehorn deserves some kind of an award for her performance this year. She is killing it.

I wasn't liking this season until the last 2 episodes where it's picked up considerably. Kim is a bad ass! But I worry that Mike saying she's in the game means she ends up getting killed. Can't wait for the finale!

For everyone who was waiting for this show to fully cross over into BB territory this season was the one you were waiting for. Wow. It's still the best show on tv. I am totally captivated by it. Kim was the hero of the season, and Mike has fully taken on his character. Everything is set up for the massive final season. It's been a great trip so far.

I'm really impressed with Tony Dalton's portrayal of Lalo Salamanca. Lalo was only mentioned once in Breaking Bad, and Vince Gilligan was initially opposed to having the Lalo Salamanca character in BCS, but Peter Gould pushed for it. What makes him a compelling villain is his wit, sense of humor and intelligence. The other Salamancas (Hector, Tuco, the twins) are ruthless villains, but they don't have the charisma that Lalo possesses.

What all needs to get tied up in the final season?

Kim
Lalo
Nacho
Tuco back in charge
Saul's office and ads maybe
Jimmy's story post Breaking Bad

I'll be a little disappointed if we don't see timelines cross a little bit re:tuco/WW and Jimmy. I really hope we see a lot more of post BB Jimmy too. That could also be tied in with the BB timeline. Either way, to put this in aviation terms. We've been taxiing a long time, and it feels like we're all lined up on the runway and ready to take off. All the pieces are in place.

RE: Lalo

I agree. The character is a scary, scary guy, and his charisma that he brings to it is both terrifying and enjoyable. Going back to the scene at the Don's house, you can see how the Salamanca's are the favorites and Lalo knows what it takes to stay in that position.

Finally caught up after a massive binge session. I can't wait for the finale.

Random Predictions-
Lalo-killed by Mike
Nacho-I think he's killed by Lalo, but that's too obvious. Maybe he goes to Canada, although that's also too obvious. Given that Saul references both Lalo and Nacho in BB, saul can't know of either's passing.

Tuco back in charge
Saul's office and ads maybe

Jimmy's story post Breaking Bad-This is the most important thing I'm curious about. I assume that the final season might break down and catch up to the Cinnabon-averse by episode 11 or so.

Kim-I think she probably has to die. I'd guess that she gets killed by Howard or maybe kills howard. I could also see her getting something like Cancer and just dying.

I think Kim goes back to Kansas to be a public defender. Kind of a return-to-your-roots thing after has a come-to-Jesus moment and wants to repent for her previous sins.

It is worrisome, and the fact that we still have heard a reason is even more. The good news is there are lots of reasons short of something serious to cause someone to collapse. Let's hope it is one of those.

They are saying it was a "heart incident." The Hollywood Reporter says heart attack, but an incident could be something less than that.

He said....they also had to use a portable defibrillator to restart his heart. I heard him say in an interview that he woke up in the hospital and had no idea why, and that he needed to get back on set. He had no indication that anything had even happened until it was explained to him.

We are very, very thankful to get him back, and to have the new season (FINALLY!!!!) kicking off tonight.

Didn't realize just how much I missed this show until after the two episodes last night. Could have kept watching for another 12 hours.

I typically "watch" shows while I scroll on my phone. I'll listen to the dialogue and occasionally look up when there is some sort of action on screen.

BCS is one of those shows (like BB) where I have to put the phone down and take everything in. It is so wonderfully shot that every scene is a joy to take in with such artful composition and I also don't want to miss anything on screen, whether it be a facial expression or something in the background.

Yeah cartman, I sort of wish I had the willpower to hold off and just watch all the episodes just prior to the series finale and then experience the finale as it happened. That would be a lot of fun.

Too used to being able to binge stuff now

Yep. He and Nacho had kind of said they wanted to make sure it happened quick and there was no "enhanced interrogation". One of the scenes was show through a window that had all kinds of torturous instruments in the foreground so that suggests torture was on the agenda.

I think that Mike felt morally obligated to be there. If you send a man off to die, you follow through with that and witness your choice.

When Kim was in the restaurant seeing that last family off and the camera swung around to give a glimpse of a old bald guy sitting at the counter it gave me chills. Such good directing in this ep.

It always fall behind on this show, it's just so heavy and has a pace where it's easier to throw on something lighter late at night or after work. But then once I get going....

There was interesting stuff from a podcast last week about Odenkirk's heart attack. It happened right after they filmed the scene where Lalo was talking to Saul and Wexler while they were on the sofa in their condo, after Saul talks Lalo into sending Wexler to Fring's instead of him. They did the Saul/Wexler close-ups, next up were the Lalo close-ups, but Odenkirk collapsed while on his exercise bike while he was out of the scene on a break. The Kim and Lalo actors were close enough to him that they got there and managed to break his fall before he hit his head on the ground.

I'm probably just seeing things, but, he face does look a little thinner and gaunt in that scene.

They did chest compressions and used the ICD on him for about 15 minutes before they got his heart started. Vince Gilligan was sure he was dead. They say there would have been no Season 6 at all if he died. But, who knows. He would have had to have died at the hands of Lalo there I guess, and then everyone else gets to wrap up their story. I'm not sure what the current public tolerance for that kind of thing is now when an actor dies mid-shoot. His last filmed line before the heart attack was "you gotta go" (to Kim).

Poor Howard. I was also reading how this character changed from its conception. I don't remember much from the early years of the show, but, they kind of abandoned the idea of him as a villain. The character didn't deserve his fate and what his reputation will be in death, and it does make you look at Saul and Kim differently.
