The cure was suppose to be coming in Buxton and Sano and this group of young pitching prospects but of course they are having a hard time finding room for the young talent because they need to keep these known unproductive players on the field for whatever reason.

Twins are loyal to a fault with their management. Terry Ryan could go winless for the next 3 years and keep his job. Gardenhire got to stick around for years despite them going downhill in a hurry.

That's usually the case but I'm getting the impression from Twins ownership that they are not at all happy with the team taking such a big step back this season. If things don't turn around big time I think Ryan will be gone. Unfortunately there's no reason to think they won't just promote one of his underlings again.

It's total b.s. that they threw him out. I don't care if it benefits us or not, it's as b.s. as that Utley slide was in the playoffs.

Yup. Surprised they did it since he missed. Usually it's a reliever that does the job

White Sox have to be shell-shocked at this point. Friday night they blew a 5-2 lead late and lost 7-5. Today, the Royals score seven runs in the ninth and win after the White Sox entered the bottom of the 9th with a 99.9% chance to win. The Royals keep losing players and the young players keep making big plays.

Two weeks ago, the Royals were down 6 1/2 games to the White Sox. They are now tied with them and only 1/2 game back of 1st place.

Great matchup tomorrow with Sale going up against Volquez.

Noah's reputation proceeds him. He's as dirty a pitcher as we have in the big leagues right now.

And as bad as the pitch was, his excuse in the post game interviews was even worse.

Yu looked really good in his first start last night. He looked like he hadn't skipped a beat. Was throwing 96-98 on his fastballs, and then mixing in 65 mph changeups. He had the hitters off balance all night.

Probably should qualify that as the "2015 Royals Respect" tour. Royals have been squeaky clean in that regard this year. Though I do think the comparison can be drawn in regards to the chip on the shoulder after nearly winning it all the year before.

You're right, he is straight filthy.

That's what you meant right? You can't be implying anything else about a guy with 5 HBPs in 241 career IPs.

edit: Ohhhh I totally forgot that MBBF was the one guy on the planet who got roped in by a random writer's clickbait article.

So MBBF, congrats on getting name-dropped by a World Series winning manager.

Fantastic tear by the champs right now with half of the lineup currently being prospects who are performing extremely well right now. Gordon and Morales need to show some big improvements when they return to the lineup. The team is playing far better without them in the lineup thus far. Hurts that Moose is out, but Cuthbert has been playing well, especially on defense.

MLB Public Enemy #1 got an inning of bullpen work in tonight since he was so fresh after Saturday's ejection. 1 IP, 2 Ks but unfortunately the rest of the pen sucked.

If you're not rooting against the Royals, you simply haven't been paying attention to MLB the last two years.

I have been a huge fan of baseball since I was a kid. I didn't give much of a care one way or the other about the Royals other than being happy for them that they finally got back to being good after so many down years, and I was happy for my friends from Kansas that rooted for the Royals.

Your arrogance regarding that team however has now caused me to actively dislike them. Congrats!

Don't they have to be relevant to be hated? There's nothing frightening about the Yankees right now.

Someone test Mookie Betts. Not for PED's.. for cheat codes.

last 11 innings. Seven attempts at the plate, five homers.

I'm really enjoying the Red Sox for the first time in a few years. All the young players getting good at once. And David Ortiz has been ridiculous.

Mookie Betts is the first player in baseball history to hit a HR in each of the first two innings in consecutive games. (via @EliasSports)

Madison Bumgarner stat time:

In their last 190 plate appearances:

Mike Trout: 11 HR
Bryce Harper: 11 HR
Madison Bumgarner: 11 HR

Since the start of the 2014 season, Madison Bumgarner has a higher HR per Plate Appearance rate than Mike Trout.

Madison Bumgarner has more HR than all active pitchers. At age 26.

He must be only swinging for the fences. 71 career hits 12 homer runs. Id say Babe Ruth part #2 other than that 180 career average and .519 OPS.

Another choke by the Royals tonight! Can't win in this league if you cant close down the 9th inning Apparently Wade Davis needed the night off or something and cost me my +170 on the Royals tonight.

Or is it best to not vastly overreact over a couple fluke events over the course of the season like someone that visits this thread frequently?

Yeah, he gets both cheeks in on almost every swing. It's amazing to me that pitchers keep giving him fastballs to hit - he's pretty obviously trash against breaking stuff.

Mariners and Padres combine for 29 runs tonight in that notorious hitter's paradise, Petco (a new record for the park). Seattle spotted San Diego a 12-2 lead entering the top of the 6th, but the M's got 5 to cut it to 12-7 and then scored 9 in the top of the 7th to take the lead 16-12 and hung on to win 16-13.

Padres put up 13 runs with no HR's and only 3 extra base hits. That's pretty impressive.

It really only makes sense to try to hit homers as a pitcher, or to sacrifice. Last thing you want is the guy out there trying to run bases* in the hot summer sun.

Also heard that Marlon Byrd got popped again for doping. Good riddance.

Bumgarner wants to enter the Home Run Derby, but it sounds like Bochy isn't going to let him.

Machado and Odor both deserve all-star spots this year. Maybe for the NHL all-star game.
