I think the Denver example is a good one. Go for it on fourth and they fumble. Sometimes three points is three points, especially in the first three quarters.

I thought broken, but then he unloaded that 40 yard beauty. So I'm guessing you're right.

So... 10 team dynasty league, upgraded it to a 2 QB (well, 1 QB, 1 Super flex) one this year... And after week 1 someone just dropped Aaron Rodgers to pick up Geno Smith. Like I get Rodgers WR's looked bad week 1, but that's worth the whole $100 waiver wire budget in a bid, right?

While it’s only the second game of the season, this games, at home against the Commanders is going to be a big one for Dan Campbell. This is the first time in 24 games that the Lions are favored. Folks still like Dan Campbell and are supportive, he’s a likable dude, but at some point all of that talk and such has to result in wins. Last week’s game was really no different than a lot of games last year. The score looked close, but the outcome was never really in doubt. The Lions fell behind big, rallied, but were never in a position to win the game. The game was, also, peppered with coaching mistakes and poor clock management, the same stuff that plagued Campbell last year.

The Dan Campbell honeymoon period is coming to an end.

It's an interesting one because it's so in the other direction as to what seems in vogue right now in the league, which is get a young and innovative guru on one side of the ball (usually offense) who probably didn't play at a high level but has been coaching since his early 20's and has built a reputation that way.

Not only did the Lions go the complete opposite with a players player rah-rah coach in Campbell, but he also built his staff out with those kind of guys as well. He seems like an incredible person and I hope he succeeds, but I dunno. I don't think I've seen anything so far to think he's up to the complexity of being a HC in the NFL where things change week to week, never mind season to season.

I know this subject can be beaten to death but this accomplishment means less and less as we go along.

I am more impressed with Roman Gabriel's almost 30,000 yds than Ryan's 60,000 and the rule changes. Gabriel played 16 yrs, Ryan is starting year 15.
Ryan YPA 7.5, Gabriel YPA 6.5. I'm more impressed with the 6.5 and the era it was done in.

Brady is almost 85k. Will Mahomes see 100K? Maybe?

Too me it would be like MLB instead of juicing baseballs would mandate maximum fence distances. 315 down the lined, 380 CF, and then post about a guy hitting 900 HRs.

Get off my lawn.

Mitch Trubisky is still Mitch Trubisky. Checkdowns, dumpoffs, and everything within 10 yards is within his skillset. Ask him to do anything else and it's bad.

I think Mac Jones is really going to miss Josh McDaniels.

So, Commanders have the ball at their own 30, 2nd and 10. Lions get a sack to make it 3rd and 19 with 1:25 or so left. They have two timeouts. They let WAS snap the ball with :45, they come up way short, and the Lions take a TO with :39 to get the ball back.

Now, the Lions very swiftly went three and out. But why don't you give yourself more time?

All respect to Brady as the most successful QB ever. But throwing the Surface tablet in anger like a five year old whenever anything goes wrong is getting tired as a bit. We get it. YoU’rE a COmpEtEToR!

It’s kind of beneath him at this point.

The day Brady stops throwing tablets is the day it's time to stay retired. He is clearly built different and I don't see how anyone can criticize his approach given the results. And I don't particularly like Brady

Matt Ryan: 16/30, 195 yards, 0 TD, 3 INT.

against Jacksonville

Maybe he should have just retired.

Keep in mind he was also missing his top two receivers in what was already a mediocre receiving corp.

Absolute madness at the end of the early games. Only a few franchises could blow that game at the end like the Browns.

Had a few of the boys over last night to watch the Huskies game. A buddy is a HUGE dolphins fan. Was saying he was thinking of making the 3 hour trip from Jersey to Baltimore with his 2 sons for the game. Wrote him this morning and he decided not to do it.

Hindsight would be running it down to 4 seconds before they knew Tua would find Waddle open in the end zone. That limited the offense at that time. With Tucker being the GOAT of kickers, they had to play for the TD.

Holy shit what an amazing Dolphins game!

On top of that, my opponent in fantasy had Lamar Jackson, while I had Tua, Tyreek, and the Miami D, so you can imagine the momentum shift in our matchup during that 4th quarter.

I don't know if there's a non-football equivalent for the scenario of watching your co-worker's whole year get fucked up which then immediately opens the door for you to take over and shine. Like I'm sure Jimmy G isn't relishing in anyone's injury, but, now he's out there throwing touchdowns. Just a weird personal/moral/emotional dynamic.

I'd be surprised, looking at the replay, if Lance is back this season. That's too bad. He's young and needs reps, but all the potential in the world.

Unfortunately, quarterbacks who run a lot have shorter careers for this reason. Too many hits. When you have two 300-pound guys fall on your plant leg when you're trying to make a cut, really bad things can happen.

So the 49ers look smart for playing hardball with Garoppolo. I hope he has a big season, gets that incentive money and an opportunity elsewhere next year.

Why would you ever run a play that has a running back throwing the ball in the red zone?

Denver in the red zone is awful. Only the Bears worse since last year, but I don't know if the stat I saw counts todays ineptitude.

Nathaniel Hackett may be less prepared to be an NFL head coach than Josh McDaniels was over a decade ago when he coached the Broncos.

He just called some sort of TE option on 3rd and inches and then took a delay of game on the FG. Now punting. Holy shit this is brutal.

Denver finally scored a TD, got a big sack to force a 4th down, and then takes a TO because the punt team didn't have anyone back to field the punt.

Now on 2nd down, about to get another delay, Denver takes its final TO with over 7 minutes left.
