Are you planning on being away an extended period of time without access?

I don't have internet access while I'm at work. So sending a list to someone to pick for me would be best when I'm away from the computer 8-9 hours 5 days a week.

Yeah, I would keep an eye out and if it becomes a problem send a list. One of the great things about this league is we have always been really understanding about stuff like that. The way the draft is set up is as long as we get through a round roughly every 3 days we are good.

IMO I prefer people to make their own picks, even if it slows things down a bit. Picking your own players is half the fun IMO

Grover, I would wait and see if you cause any issues before worrying about a list.

All right, much more lenient than leagues I've been a part of in the past.

Then 8/9 or a bit after Lathum and I will figure out how to release the rest of the roster to free agency in anticipation of the draft starting next Monday at 10am.

Once we get everyones keepers set up and the rest of the rosters released we can start drafting without using the time limits until Monday.

Really? I think the opposite. The Bears offense is much improved and Cutler is being teamed up again with Marshall. If Cutler can stay healthy he should have a very good year, better than anyone you would likely find with that pick in the draft.

Factor in Sal had 2 third round picks and he would his only protectable QB is Colt McCoy I think it is a great deal for him.

Considering I would have had to spend a high draft pick on a QB, I think I am in good shape with that deal

Keepers for me are:
Cutler
Jackson
Bradshaw
locker

ok, looks like we have everyones keepers in. JAG may need to manually move Cutler to Sals team in order to release the rest of the players if he wants to do it today since the trade won't go through fleaflicker until late tonight.

OK, I used the commish option to excecute the Cutler deal so everything should be set. I'm going to go in and see if I can set people keepers.

All rosters are now updated with keepers.

JAG, I think I know how to also set up the draft. Are you cool with unofficially starting it but not using a time rule for picks until Monday?

Anyone else object?

I object! How dare we have nearly four extra days to get our picks in! Ridiculous!

I was just thinking that people may want to at least get through the first round of pre season games to avoid drafting an injured player

+1 If I could've done it over, I would have had us select keepers and start the draft closer to the season opener than we had originally planned, since there's not really any benefit to having our teams drafted three weeks before the season starts. As long as we have enough time to get in all our picks, all picking early does is add more random chance to things since some players are still fighting for starting positions or could potentially get injured over the next couple weeks.

IT's a balance act to make sure we have enought time. I'm a big fan of no one being rushed during the draft. As long as we are all operationg under the same rule set I don't think it matters.

That being said, should we open up the draft with no obligation to pick until Monday??

Bears are a team built on running and defense still. Cutler should be better, but still isn't a very good fantasy QB. I am sure you can get someone just as god in the 3rd round. And he could have kept Locker who actually has more upside though is not a reliable starter. I would definitely take Locker / 3rd round QB over Cutler though.

Their offensive line still sucks for pass blocking which will limit Cutler's improvement even further despite having Marshall. I'm not trying to poo poo you Saldana, we all have different player opinions

I just didn't think there was a better option available in the early rounds...trust me, i am not a big cutler fan, but i couldnt go into the draft without an actual starter..I would love it if locker ends up being the man, but that is hardly a given.

OK, I just opened up the draft so Callous Doughboys is on the clock. Remember, you are under no obligation to pick until Monday if you don't want to.

Man, I spent like 2 hours setting my list in the order I wanted it, painstakingly getting the top 60 in the precise order I preferred them, and then I tried to check and article on one of the players for further information.. DO NOT DO THIS WITHOUT SAVING YOUR LIST FIRST.

I thought it would open in a new window, but it didn't and now that list is gone.

It's ok, I am sure I will regain the energy to re-order the list before we go to a timed draft.
