I can't believe they blew the whistle on that.

Forward progress needs to be reviewable after this year, too many potentially big plays getting stalled.

A little surprised that didn't turn into a big play for the Giants as the Niners defense looked confused before that snap. Kind of expected a timeout to be called.

I agree that was an early whistle, Giants caught a break. That being said I'm still not sure Eli can get enough time in the pocket to maintain a drive. Niners pass rush has been filthy.

Should be niners ball, as progress was not stopped.

No knee, elbow, ass, whatever on the ground.

I think it was a quick whistle, but also a good call.

Someone in here needs to explain to me how the officials got that forward progress call wrong. It looked right to me.

He was moving backwards. Forward progress had been stopped. It was a quick whistle, but it was the right call.

Lost in that stupid punt return, the 49ers have essentially shut down the Giants in the second half. Nice adjustments.

Forward progress aside, if the ball is clearly out before the whistle blows, isn't it still a fumble?

It was only a bad call if you're a Niners fan.

If one of the officials says forward progress was stopped and just didn't get his whistle blown in time, I would guess that they can still consider the runner down.

The point is that in at least 50% of regular season games you would see that play continue til the runner was down. It's purely a judgement call by the officials. In that case, it would have been a fumble.

I guess my point, then, is that his forward progress was clearly stopped, so the call was right.

What was that linebacker doing? He was watching Eli and not Bradshaw.

Today, we secretly replaced Alex Smith with Tim Tebow. Let's see if anybody notices.

This is likely going into OT, but I have zero faith in the 49ers in scoring on offense.

OT in a great game. Both D's are filthy. Niners O is not good. But there is always the possibility of Davis Getting loose.

How about, the call wasn't wrong, but letting it go wouldn't have been wrong either. Because as I said, it ends up being a judgement call by the ref.

Are those big coats even warm? Or do they just wear them because football players always have on the sidelines?

Interestingly, I have close to zero faith in the Giants defense in keeping SF out of FG range, at the very least. They give up 1 big play per half, I guess OT in the 3rd half....

Yeah but the 9er offense is a much greater negative force than the Giant D right now.

I think that was the nice way of telling Ed Houkulee to speed up his stupid drawn out explanation of overtime.
