Facinating. Particularly the regional outliers like Germany, and Venezuela/Colombia. I'm pretty sure the German one could be explained by post-WW II population shifts (which I guess is a nice way of saying the Nazis killed a lot of small breast genes, and encouraged the Scandavian big great genes to have a big party and reproduce.) I'm fascinated that the AVERAGE for the USA is a D. That means for every small boob there is one that is an Aretha Franklin.

Ichiro donates 100 million Yen to the relief effort. Dice-K donates 1million dolars to the relief effort.
Just find it odd that press releases would word it so differently, since Ichiro only donated about 240k more. Regardless, good for both of them. Much better than the Yankees donating 2 billion yen to the Igawa disaster. |

In addition to being the worst Survivor strategist that I can remember, Survivor Colby is the worst television host that I've ever seen. His performance on History's Top Shot is LOLBAD

That show is funny. I would define it as pleasantly boring. I like how the necessity to draw all their contestants from military and law enforcement has the (perhaps unintended) effect of absolutely zero of the usual reality drama and scheming. They're lucky if they can mine 30 seconds of interesting footage out of the house every week.

Quick question from those that might know:
If I play a normal DVD in a PS3 is it upscaled at all? |

If you adjust a certain setting on video output. Your TV will upscale the image regardless. It just won't resample at as high of quality.

OK, I have no idea if a setting was adjusted or not. I was house-sitting for a friend who had a PS3. I played several normal DVDs on it and they looked much better than I expected them to. Just wondering if the difference was attributable to HDMI (I use component cables with my PS2 to play DVDs) or the PS3 doing some work.

I struggle to see much higher quality on DVD vs Blu Ray on my PS3 TV. Granted Samsung, et al didn't used to skimp on video processing so it could just be the TV.

Could definitely be the HDMI instead of component, I can see the difference when I switch between them.

I would say it is definitely the HDMI. I run both my Xbox and PS3 using HDMI, and haven't noticed any appreciable difference between them as far as how regular DVDs look. But when I upgraded my Xbox from component to HDMI, the difference was considerable.

Alright, thanks guys. The TV I have right now doesn't support HDMI, so I don't have a choice on that end.

Through my observation with a number of TVs are work with cable boxes, I'm unable to tell the difference between component and HDMI as long as I have the settings set the same on either connection (1080i/p/whatever).

Blog is updated, as I try (and largely fail) to come up with some coherent commentary on the murder of a local police officer this week. First Athens officer killed in the line of duty since 1936.

I don't watch the show, but I've heard good things about it and actually about him as a host. But it sounds like you've got something against him to begin with, so maybe that colors your perception of his ability, I don't know. FWIW, the show is already casting for season 3 - potentially for couples. And they said they want more self-taught people, not just law enforcement/military/professional competitor types.

Lady H_B returns in two weeks. How time flies. I have already begun to prepare. I took my beer bottles/cans to be recycled on Saturday and got $23.40 in return. I have scheduled Molly Maid to clean the house late next week. I may have to get a new hanging plant in our bathroom. I sort of forgot it existed and I believe it's dead. I have let her know that she's coming back at very busy time for me. Between the NHL playoffs, A Game Of Thrones and the NFL Draft, the second of half April promises to be crazy.

I'm sure that was done entirely with the intent to ratchet up THA DRAMA. I kinda like how mellow it is now, it's not like you can't find catty bickering on TV, if you want it. On the other hand, if they keep lowering the standards and skewing towards conflict, it just increases the chances of one of the competitors eventually having one of them reality TV breakdown, but with a firearm in their hands, and it's hard not to be in favor of that.

Mrs SR watches ID all the time. And it seems like anytime I walk through the room when it's on, it's the scorned wife who killed the husband but left the trail of Google searches that they are finally able to track it back to her.
I'm not sure if she's trying to send a message. In any case, if I go missing for awhile, please remember this post.

C&I Network is on DirecTV's enhanced HD package, which I would have to pay extra for. I looked at what they show several months ago when I was considering adding it, and it's got way too many fictional drama shows for my tastes. And most of the non-fiction is stuff like First 48 that you can see on A&E anyway. I prefer sticking with the fresh/new non-fiction shows like ID has.

Meh. Can't say I particularly cared for Star Wars and most certainly didn't pay attention to the credits.
The puppetry is much more interesting to me, but again, it's not one of those things I'd have paid attention to credits for...especially since it's been at least 25 years since I watched Sesame Street and I can't say I've ever watched any of The Muppets. /tk
