Thanks. Abe, I have a question: Is it mathematically possible for us to win? Meaning that assuming no stupidity on the wolves part that they could simply field more people than us each time until we're dead? If so please just call the game. If not I will continue to strategize and possibly even post something soon.

After using most of your miners just now, you have few to commit to the breach that opens to your left, but you decide to throw in 600 miners.
The Sympathizers only move in 50, so you easily win this Stage. claphamsa has been killed. Let's go ahead and begin Stage 7 now.Sympathizers, just send me a pm when you are have a final decision.

Over the next few battles, you have few miners to commit. The Sympathizers sent out 49 each stage and you cannot match them. After four more stages, all of the remaining members of Labor have died, and onbly PurdueBrad, the Spy, the leader of the Sympathizers, stands.
PurdueBrad and the Sympathizers have won In real life, Don Chafin;s forces won the Battle of Blair Mountain as well. The decisive victory, supplemented with the military, was enough to end the labor movement in southern WV until the New Deal gave workers the right to unionize in the early 1930s. Congratulations Sympathizers.

Sympathizer Rules:
Here are the WW rules for your edification. Sympathizer – Right now, there are only three of you, but you have a chance at more. Using large amounts of money was a proven way to get unionists to change sides and many leaders of the UMW were attracted away with large amounts of money and prestige. Night Actions: Kill – You may choose to kill someone at night. You do not need to tell me who will do the killing, just who your target is. You must wait two days between each killing before you may kill again. Otherwise, you cause too much attention. See the note below in Day Actions under Intimidate Law Enforcement, however. Bribe – You begin the game with $5000 in cash. On any given night, you may choose to Bribe a person and how much money to spend. If successful, they will become a Sympathizer. The more money you use, the more likely you are to be successful. Some people are immune to bribery and others are very susceptible. They will not know you approached if you fail. A bodyguard block will block a bribe attempt too. Bribery is not considered illegal. You spend all money used, even if it is more than the Bribe Price needed to buy them off. A failed result will not tell you if your offer was not high enough, or if the person just isn’t for sale. Day Actions: When you take a Day Action in the thread, you may choose to fake your work. Simply pm me and tell me that you are faking it. You also may take one action per day as a group, just like night actions. Here are your options: Fake Arrest Warrant: This will remove one miner for the day and night. They will return the following day. Their work and Oust votes will not count for that day. Support Local Minister: A local minister will begin to preach against the unions. This will slow the work of the unionists that day if there are no Union Preachers in the game. Intimidate Law Enforcement: You intimidate law enforcement so much that you can submit a Kill Night action tonight if you wish and it does not count for your rotation. Bring Black or Italian Scabs: On any day in which it is announced that the new camp has a strike going on, you may choose to bring in Scabs. The scabs will be workers who are of one or two races or ethnicities and drive a wedge in the racial relations. Ideally, bringing these in will drive a wedge between the miners by race. Sometimes it doesn’t work, but it usually does. Dividing the union can be a potent tool to victory. When you choose this, you may choose to bring in either Italian or Black scabs, of your choice. Bribe Government Official: You can just concede this town and start working in the next. Bribe Government Officials in the next town you go to, and it will be a bit harder for Labor to win (and that will be announced when they arrive). Hire Baldwin-Felts: You can bring in some gun-thugs tonight from the Baldwin-Felts detective agency. It will not cost you any money, and tonight, no one can destroy any of your property or steal anything from you. Good luck and enjoy!

This game was almost over when PB was on teh chopping Oust block and the tie went BK's way. There were no converts and PB was about to die. All I thought was, oh no, I;d hate for Glengoyne to catch up only to have the game end the next day.

Lathum 3k. claphamsa announced he was 1k in the thread which wa sa major blow to Labor, There were only a coupleof players left in the 2k and under range so the Sympathizers were probably stuck on 4 players for the game, and just PB and Lathum left. Then clap announced he was uber cheap and they went his way for a 5th wolf, and ultiamtely the deciding factor once the Battle had begun.

The Battle rule sfor Wolve,s they started with 5500 men, 1000 for each camp they prevented, and 1500 for preventing Few Clothes as an ally. Then they had once each of bombs and poison gas.
Unknown to them, their men were worth 3:2 of Labor men. They had sent out Poison Gas on Stage one when BK did not send anyone. My ruling was that a plane overhead dropping poison gas onto the battlefield would see no people and drop nothing. I had not planned for that contingency, to be honest, and my rule was men would have been committed and lost, but bombs and gas were able to be used again.

Although the events may feel deterministic, there were only two deaths via events, and the wolves could only kill every three days, so Day One, Day Four, etc. The other event, On the Steps, allowed them to off an ally of their choice to give them some power over who to do and what.

And by this logic nothing happens. If you hadn't planned for it, you shouldn't penalize either side. Simply state that doing so again will be auto lose. In the logic of the game, no one goes out, no one gets gassed and no one dies. Frankly, I game planned my strategy correctly and you penalized me for it. |

BK, I also kind of flipped out when you didn't send anybody at all just because anyone with common sense wouldn't bomb/defend an empty front. As I told Abe, had you guys sent one guy, I would hated you for it but I would've understood wasting our turn. Nobody there really felt off to me.

One note. The wolves had gone ALL In for the round in which BK jumped in front and added a bunch more men, and scared them off. Had BK not done that, and just put in 6000+ miners, you would have won.

Ok I don't want to harp on ABe too much, though I have another more constructive upset post coming. I must complement him on the following: this is one of the few games where I made it a point to read the color every single word. Part of this is ebcause I'm a history buff. Part of it was because it was in small chunks. Part of it was because it was so well written (and researched, see me being a history buff). I can say that in many ways this was, without a doubt, one of the best written games we've had. And that includes some really well written games Abe has run before.

7. Labor did not know, but was supposed to find out on Night Ten since that would mean the Battle of Blair Mountain had not happened.

I didn't jump the gun there. Good for them not feeling it was a bluff. Considering I'd gone low so many times, I felt going so high and then going so low was a credible possibility on my part.
