Ok I debate whether I should wait for someone else to say it, or if I should just say it myself, and since I don't feel like taking a risk:
Putting anyone who you feel has a helpful villager role in jail neuters the role. |

plus, with the ability of showdowns just because a good guy is protected in jail overnight doesn't mean he can't be gunned down at sunup either...

not necessarily...in the Chaos game, having the guy that worked the throne in jail every night was the best possible thing we could do, seein as how we would lose 3 days after he died no matter what. |

errr well I guess the guy would have to be released from jail to have a showdown but a good guy in jail can't do his job to help the good guys...

The first day since Fred White's death comes and goes, and many debate during the day who should replace him. The empty jail cells loom as a reminder that the cowboys have been running unhindered thus far. After much of the day passes, a large group of people supporting Lonestargirl start backing her pretty vocally. It almost seems sure that she would become the next sheriff, until a late push from many of the townspeople point to Saldana instead.
At the end of the day, Saldana has been chosen as the new town sheriff. He walks up the stairs of the town hall, takes the gold star in hand and pins it to his shirt. He also is handed a local pistol reserved for the use of the town sheriff. It appears to have been Fred White's old gun, lets hope it serves its new owner a bit better. Final day votes: Sheriff election: (9) Saldana - Anxiety (176), Hoopsguy (246), Spleen (256), Swaggs (258), Path (266), Barkeep (301), Ntndeacon (319), St.Cronin (327), Saldana (329) (6) Lonestargirl - Bulletsponge (109), Fouts (121), Lathum (180), Glengoyne (236), Chubby (254), Lonestargirl (333) (3) Barkeep - Chief Rum (168), Racer (175), Sndvls (253) (1) SnDvls - Grammaticus (237) (1) Fouts - Thomkal (242) Lynch votes: No valid lynch candidates. We are now in the night period. Deadline for all night actions to be PM'd to me is 9:00am EST Tuesday morning. |

well the only person not voting was Golden Eagle...he also has the lowest post count along with Swaggs, and then Glengoyne.
does anyone have a serious suggestion or is that the plan y'all'd like for me to go with (GE and then swaggs)....i will say that my personal preference would be to put GE and Glen in, as swaggs has proven to be a pretty good pardner in the past when given the chance. |

dola, i also have a bad feeling in my gut about Lathum...he likes to do the whole "NO POST ALL DAY" routine when he is a bad guy, and he cant say he was at work or nothin like that

I turn on CNN to see the early precinct results, and it turns out people want to toss me in the pokey where my neck will be on the line.

No reason to toss me in, all I did was vote for LSG, 'cause I got her killed in our first WW game. I certainly didn't have any trouble with Saldana. I hope Sal turns out to be a trustworthy officer of the law.

Oh and I think we may have mis-read or over stated Barkeep's role a bit. I don't think he has genuine seer type capabilities, so I don't think we are required to keep him in jail to protect him. I guess time will tell.

Saldana, congrats on your new office. No major advice for Night 1, although I would try to avoid jailing the people you suspect have villager roles to let them either demonstrate them ... or not demonstrate them and make decisions on them a little later in the game.

we have to also understand that by putting 2 people in jail those two become our lynch people for tomorrow, unless we see fit to hold off on the lynch until day 3 (I don't recommend this). I don't see anyone reasonably wanting to go to the jail on their own accord on this first night as that puts them in a safe spot at night, but one step closer to being lynched tomorrow.
It might change as roles become more know, but it also hinders them from doing their role. we will see who has a "role" of some sort tomorrow though as they will show tired...that is if I read the rules correctly. |

I guess what I'm asking is, is there any thought to seeing who is tired tomorrow to help eliminate some of the guess work.

I don't see any reason why you should not put three people in the jail.
And if my low post count makes me a good candidate, I am fine with that. |

Swaggs, he can only put two in jail each night. Jail only holds three, but will take at least two nights to reach capacity.
SnDvls - people won't be tired until Day 3. It is back-to-back actions to be fatigued. |

saldana, here are some poeple I'd look more closely at -
Thomkal SnDvls Glengoyne Have they posted much during the day? My impression was that they didn't, but I don't know, so I'd go back and investigate if I were the sheriff.

I personally think this is a bad play. What if the bad guys have a duke role and duke BK? Why limit our options by only tossing in one suspect? Why remove BK's ability to use his role? Why deny a bodyguard the opporuntity to kill a abd guy by protecting an obvious target?

There I am being mentioned as a candidate for jail bird again. I said last night I wouldn't be able to post again until noon pst. I checked in, at that time the Saldana bandwagon really hadn't gone too far down the line, so I left my innocuous LSG vote for sheriff on the table, and took my family to the County fair. Based on my post count? Because when I was online and posting late last night, none of you were participating in the thread? It is downright boring to talk to yourself. Well at least myself. |

I think it is pretty silly to toss someone in the jail since they missed a vote that is not mandatory. But if you want to throw me in the jail for that reason, then well whatever, do it. I could careless.

i agree that this is not a good plan...my original thought was to use the jail tonight as a means to protect two people i thought were good guys....it was then pointed out to me/i realized that the jail in this game is not the same as it has been in every other incarnation it has had in WW...since we have to lynch one of the people in the jail, it takes the ability to use it as a bodyguard away. |
