Oh man, I just looked at who voted for Izulde and how the Jonathan voted came about. I told myself I wouldn't follow Alan's lead and gosh darnit, I did... he was the first person to vote for Jon.
I feel a little dirty. I need to take a bath now.... ugh. |

It's always dangerous in Whitechapel, but the peril went on high after mob rule took over today.
Ringleaders and followers alike scanned those familiar faces, friends and foes, for that demonic killer responsible for last night's atrocity. Fingers are pointed and tempers flare--but no one seems to agree on anything. Izulde attracts attention for a time. So does Barkeep. The crowd wavers from one end to the other as the sun draws close to setting and a final decision. A late swerve of public opinion finally settles on Jonathon Ezarik. Faster than a torch in kerosene, a fire runs through the crowd, as they search for the notably quiet Jonathon. Finally, a constable finds him huddled in a corner of an alley, hiding behind a discarded ale barrell. The constable drags him out into the open by his ear, his small frame kicking and screaming in pain. The smallish waif can't be more than ten--and even a mob's high color can be cooled by the sight of a child, even a dirty one. Jonathon starts to cry as some of the more cold-hearted prepare the noose. But the crowd is wavering still, and cries for mercy and good sense fill the air. "He is but a boy!" "He cannot have been strong enough to do what happened last night!" Even the hardest hearts must eventually agree. Jonathon Ezarik is but an orphan, and urchin. He could not have done this. But they know he cannot remain in Whitechapel. The constable escorts Jonathon aka The Artful Dodger to an orphanage outside of the district, never to return to Whitechapel. Jonathon Ezarik is not dead--but he is out of the game. The crowd grumbles at choosing so young a target, and wanders away, swearing to do better tomorrow. Some eye the wandering clouds in the twilight sky, and surmise there could be rain tonight. DAY ONE ENDS. NIGHT ONE BEGINS. NIGHT ACTIONS ARE DUE BY 7 A.M. EST/4 A.M. PDT

I forgot that classtime would take me past the voting period and before that I had to read Measure for Measure for class.
I'll be more active tomorrow. Sucks that we got a good guy on Day One though.

Love that there actually were some "hidden" roles in the game. Bummed that we didn't get a hit early. But JE was not one of the players I had information on at this stage in the game. And we also learned that Fagin is almost certainly in the game.
Now that night actions are upon us - I know the identities of three whores in this game. Fouts, feel like sharing which district you were in last night with your hookup? It might help lend further credibility to your story about paying out some cash ... I'm ambivalent about asking for protection tonight. All in all, I think there are a few people who trust me and a bunch more who have assumed I have a certain role in this game - since no one has come out and said what that role is I won't bother trying to confirm or deny. I do believe that there are likely more critical people around than me to try and keep around. Selfishly, it is a lot of fun playing the game when people tend to trust you so I would like to see this extended for a couple of more days. |

aaargh. i had forgotten/overlooked that the night-deadline in this game is 9pm EST. That's pretty killer on me, because anytime i have to work an afternoon-shift I don't even close the doors of the store till 9. But as a compromise...I will be able to come on for a half-hour in the mid-afternoon during my dinner-break and will be able to vote then if someone will be around to like...give me a quick synopsis.

Fouts' play was interesting. Either the bad guys are making a bold move or (more likely) Fouts is legit and Izulde is most likely legit. Does anyone see any other possibilities?

Not really sure if that was a good result or bad? The writeup made it sound like he was a good guy, but he came out and said he was working for Fagan.

I think his working for fagin is being highly over-rated. He was an urchin, and had abilites that went with that. I think fagin is related since he ran the urchins.

Good point as well. Although it still stands to reason that regardless if they're baddies or if they're freemasons, it's a pretty bold move to have Fouts link himself to Izulde. I tend to think that it makes Fouts at least not bad and Izulde most likely not bad. |

I don't think you can blame an orphan for working for someone that is evil. Orphans are probably just trying to find a quick buck and will get whatever they can wherever they can.
I don't think his working for Fagin means he was totally bad, just a poor desperate soul. |

DC, while i understand what your trying to say, he was on the side of good and therefore must have been able to help good. He may have been able to help bad as well, but his alignment makes it certain he could help

Urchins: Orphans aplenty roam the streets of Whitechapel. They have their uses--they are particularly sneaky and get their ears around all sorts of things--but be careful, that waif may have just stolen your wallet.
I took it to mean they were maybe witnessess, or possibly turnacoats..people who were in touch with the criminal underworld, but still good

Just checking in before bed to see how the lynch ended. I'll be on in the morning briefly before I leave the hotel for work. I have a dinner appointment with Cisco vendors tommorrow night, so no telling when I will be in. I'll try to find a way to connect while at work at least long enough to see how the day is going and put out a vote.
Quote:
You know. I didn't put a gun to your heads and say vote for this guy. If I'm such a horrible person to follow, then stop voting for the people I do. Whatever its worth, the last two games I played and used this strategy on day 1, we got 2 bad guys. (Saldana and Scoobz). Its sheer luck usually on day1 usually, and I very clearly stated why I was voting for who I did. I'm not sorry about my vote, and am relieved it wasn't an important role for us. I'm pretty sure there are other orphans in the game, and yes the good guys can make use of them as well as the bad apparently. All of the sobbing and lamenting over Jonathan's death drives me crazy too. Hate to say it.. but its WW.. -someone- has to die at some point. If people didn't have to leave the game, we would call this Picnic 14: Jack the Ripper invites Strawberry Shortcake over for dinner and tea. It stinks when it happens to you, but its not personal and is just part of a game. Anyways, rant over. I'll be back in the morning. |

That seems a bit much. Jonathan is a new player so people are sympathizing with his early death and suggesting he come back for the next game. Sorry if we don't want to let a quick death discourage someone. |
