Bah, worst round of the weekend. Putter just wasn't working like it had earlier in the week.

Not surprisingly the 3 top money earners on tour are the 3 champions of the season, with Hawkins almost 100K in front because of his recent T2 finish in the Arizona Open to go along with his 5Cs victory. Fujita is 4th with finishes of 8, T3 and T2. Courtney is an interesting player at 5 because he elected to skip the second event, but in the two he's participated he finished T4 and 2nd. FOFC Bay Harbor Memorial
Hole 1 : Par 4, 471 Yards This par 4 has a big fairway allowing players to take a rip early. Players can get in trouble off the tee if they leave the ball right and find the scrub palm areas, but a long drive sets up an open approach. The green is large with subtle breaks but most players will be thinking about an early birdie to start the round. Hole 2 : Par 3, 195 Yards This hole is protected by large bunkers that are front left and front right. A miss in the bunkers can be costly, but otherwise the hole is pretty open. If players can focus in and hit the clutch shot a birdie is very likely. The green lacks undulation but it slopes hard from back to front so being long and putting down hill too aggressively can cause problems. Hole 3 : Par 4, 500 Yards A third hole and a third strong chance at birdie. The long hole requires a long and straight drive to be able to reach it in two. From the rough off the tee, this hole becomes almost impossible to birdie. Typically, with a long hole the options are limited, but this hole has several angles of attack, most depending on where the flag is placed, and choosing the right one will make it much easier. Hole 4 : Par 5, 542 Yards With water bisecting the fairway players are faced with an option on the tee, and choosing correctly for the conditions can make all the difference on this hole. Player must have confidence in their shot, doubt can quickly kill a score as the creek comes into play off the tee and depending on the approach it’s a danger for layups as well as going for the green in two. But well struck shots make this another hole were birdies should be common. Hole 5 : Par 5, 600 Yards Players can risk the trees and cut the edge on this dog leg right to shorten the hole or they can play it 3 shots to the green. Sand is in play regardless of how players choose to attack this hole as bunker run all down the right side of the fairway and deep bunkers protect the green. Hole 6 : Par 3, 220 Yards This is an extremely difficult par 3. The small green slopes away from the players and creates very little margin for error. Simply getting on the green from the tee is an accomplishment. Bunkers on the left can be very difficult to get up and down from, especially when the pin is place on that side of the green. Hole 7 : Par 4, 418 Yards The short par 4 allows player numerous opportunities to attack the hole. Some players will choose to run it up as close to the green as possible leaving themselves a short pitch into the green, while others will layback and attack with a full swing. Hole 8 : Par 4, 451 Yards A wide fairway temps players into ripping the drive, but the key on this hole is reading the green. There are subtle breaks inside of subtle breaks and good putting is often needed to convert the birdie. Hole 9 : Par 4, 488 Yards This hole is often a shock to players. After numerous holes with a wide fairway, this one seems to be waiting in ambush. To birdie players pretty much need to be long and straight off the tee, as bunkers protect both sides of the fairway, and the rough is deep with rolling mounds that almost insures a bad lie if you miss the fairway. Hole 10: Par 5, 555 Yards This par 5 seems to come down to a long tee ball or a delicate putt. The danger here is off the tee where trees and fairway traps are lurking and around the green. The middle of the hole allows players options on where to lay up and how they want to attack. Hole 11: Par 4, 470 Yards The long iron approach requires focus and consistency to keep the ball on the green. A missed green can stress the players short game and scrambling abilities. Hole 12 : Par 4, 399 Yards Another short par 4 that players will attack very differently. The key is to be in the fairway or so close that you can still spin the ball and keep it on the green. Hole 13 : Par 3, 160 Yards This is a big green and players unlike a lot of par 3s will be thinking birdie. The approach needs to be in the right location of the green to allow the player to make a run with the birdie putt. Being on the wrong shelf can easily lead to 3 putts. Hole 14 : Par 5, 588 Yards Long aggressive players can reach this green in two but they must cut the corner and catch the slight downhill slope of the green for the bonus roll. Eagles aren’t likely, but they are possible. The green has only small bunkers protecting it, so the penalties, if players have confidence in their wedges, for going for the green in two and missing are minimal. Just make sure to find the fairway off the tee and not end up in the trees. Hole 15 : Par 3, 188 Yards Uphill par 3 is difficult for players to judge distance because the pin is often partially hidden by the rise. However, if players get the distance right and are on the green birdies are attainable. Missing the green however, can put a strain on the short game and good putting is often required just to save par. Hole 16 : Par 4, 436 Yards This short par 4 is often counter-intuitive to players. It appears much like the other two par 4s, and many players will attack trying to get as close as possible to the hole. However, all the danger for this hole is in the last 150 to 175 yards. Attacking the green from the tee brings a pond, bunkers, and trees into play. Hole 17 : Par 4, 425 Yards Tight fairway requires a precise drive and a good iron shot. Many players will chose to hit an iron off the tee and take their chances with a long iron approach rather than risk the trouble that is 280 yards out. Hole 18 : Par 4, 475 Yards The difficult closing hole requires confidence to play as there are a number of difficult shots that if poorly executed can lead to big numbers. Players must also be smart on how and where to place shots in order to leave themselves angles into this green which is protected by numerous trees reaching into the fairway and effectively cutting off options. Same as previous, except for agg putt on norm and easy pin placements and norm on hard.
Wish Chucky could have kept pace and gone at least -2 in round 2, but sitting in a tie for 4th at this point is the high point of the season so far.
