College officiating is not good in general. The Auburn and Indiana ejections were ridiculous.

Too many teams, too many games. It's stretched the pool of officiating beyond the ability to staff competently.

edit to add: Same thing that afflicts broadcasting today.

What is unfortunate is good, young officials are being run out by coaches and fans. Who wants abuse for the pay they receive?

Is there a public job where you can fuck up on a grand scale and not take heat?

Realistically, the time may have come for robo'ing as much as possible for officiating. We may simply not be producing an adequate supply of people cut out for precision work.

The thing is, every call you make 50% of the fans are going to think you are wrong. And the then the whack jobs come out.

Another example of the transitive property not being applicable to college football.

Week 1, Rice has a lead in the 4th quarter against Arkansas
Week 2, Arkansas runs Texas out of the stadium 40-21
Week 3, Texas shuts out Rice 58-0

I'd forgotten who was calling plays for Auburn ... and then I saw that 4th & goal play from the 2.

Yep, that's Mike Booboo alright.

#19 AZ State, #15 VA Tech & #13 UCLA lost.

Figuring this means #20 Hogs should move to #17 (and #16 Coastal Caroline to #14).

We have A&M, GA, Ole Miss & Auburn coming up. In past years I would say that's a 0-4 stretch. This year, I'd be expecting 2-0.

WVU with its biggest win in the Neal Brown era, beating VPI 27-21. WVU held a 27-7 lead and had to stop the Hokies inside their 5 at the end of the game to hold on after a horrible interception on a screen pass with the clock running down.

Huge for WVU, as we play Oklahoma next week and could have easily been looking at 1-3 after next Saturday. I didn’t think Brown was on the hot seat, despite being right around .500 in year 3 (Holgorson had gotten so lazy with recruiting, fans pretty well accepted that the roster required a total rebuild), but blowing a 20-point lead to a big rival, at home, and then making the call for a risky pass when they should have been milking the clock would have been a bad look.

I’m not sure if we are a little better than I expected (last week our offensive line couldn’t get any push on Long Island U. despite winning 66-0) or VPI is just average, but I’ll take it. Looking forward to getting a new QB next year.

I approve of this message for Coastal. As long as they keep winning they should, but if there was a time for them to not move it would be this week. They BARELY beat Buffalo, so would not be disappointed if they moved up 1 or stayed in the same spot

So +1 in one poll and -1 in the other poll kinda works for you I guess

Not a great day for Top-25 football.

A&M and Hogs share the limelight with ND and WI.

Hoping for a great game and a nice win for the Hogs but will be satisfied for a close loss also.

#17 Coastal Carolina gets ready for Sun Belt play with hopefully an easy win at home against 0-3 UMass today at 1 pm. They are 36 pont favorites.

Before the season, UGA TE Darnell Washington was predicted to have a break out year. He came on hard toward the end of the last half of last season, after proving himself early as a run-blocker. Unfortunately, he was hurt in the preseason and was likely to be out for several games. His back up also got hurt and it looked like a position of strength for Georgia was going to be a question mark. In steps true freshman Brock Bowers. Bowers is the now leading the team in targets and receptions. He has scored twice today in the first quarter on Vandy, including a rushing touchdown on an end run. Football can be unpredictable.

ND and WI keeping it close. Not really a fan of either but wouldn't mind seeing ND get to the top 4 this year to change things up some.

No way do I want to see ND anywhere near the final 4. F them.

I hate to root for Wiscy, but I hate ND more.

Not watching it but hopefully you guys have the 2nd team in there now.

It's nice for your team to cruise to a victory. Sometimes just need a relaxing beat down.

Hogs were able to stop A&M and then move the ball running on their first possession. 45+ FG. A good sign.

Yep most starters out at the beginning of the third. Nice to see the "lesser lights" get a chance to shine. Umass for some reason kicked a FG late to make the final score 53-3

With all the transfers that take place, how is it possible that Minnesota has so much trouble finding a QB?

Hogs up 17-3 into the half.

About 230 yards passing which is unusual. We normally depend on the running game.

Expecting Aggies to adjust and make it more of a game in 2H. But unless we end up losing by a lot, the Hogs have passed the first real test.

Auburn getting a little embarrassed by Georgia State. I'm good with that, they are the most likely SEC team we'll beat in this 4 game SEC stretch.

17-10.

EDIT: Uh oh. Our QB2 is in, suspect there will be a lot of QB rushes.

NC State with chance to win it late at Clemson 22.

Hogs converts an interception to a FG so 20-10 with about 7 min remaining.

It's going to happen folks. AR up 10 point and ball with 2 min left.

.... and we are now 4-0 !!

What a win. Ugly in 2H but the D did enough.

2 remains a possibility

Yeah, I know, GA. I see GA as the Peyton Volunteers. Until they beat the bully, it's pretty safe to assume they won't.
