Well, let me clarify. Is it a stupid move to try and win? Maybe. Was it done out of a lack of desire to win? Definitely not. There is definite strategy behind it. Now, it could certainly blow up in my face, but it is done with the intention of winning.

Actually, I was just looking for the generic positions like: F, M, W, CD, WB, GK
You can go into more detail in the voting thread.

Can I clarify the football rules?
As long as everyone has a position on the team, can I use a guy at K and another position or does he have to specifically be K/P? Same with PR/KR? Same guy and this guy can play no other positions? |

edited upon second thought...
Kicker/Punter has to be same person. KR/PR has to be same person.

Well, I didn't necessarily see that as a lineup change. I was just clarifying how the Kicking and Returning categories counted towards the playing both ways,
However, in going through the draft thread, I see that someone asked about Deion and I ruled that he couldn't play both Special Teams and WR. So I'll have to abide by the ruling I made during the draft. i'll edit my previous post.

Looking at Norv Turner's team looks solid, except football where my tandem of Reggie White and Julius Peppers would likely get to the QB or RB about the same time they get the ball.

Yeah Norv, that will have to be edited. Every one of your guys has to be a starter at a certain position. The only exception I made earlier is that you can have a pitcher hit in all games, but in order to do that he will have to sub at multiple positions in the three games where he isn't pitching (so he isn't usurping the starting job from someone else).
And logically then you could only have two pitchers do this, otherwise someone will be getting subbed more than once.

huh. yeah, i never really understood the rule. or maybe i did i just subconsciously chose to ignore it. idk. in my mind i envisioned it like little league.
i don't mean to raise a stink, i mean this is just a silly time waster but, what's to keep me from putting my bench guys as starters; ruth as my closer and bringing him in after one pitch? because that's exactly what i would do if this were a real world exercise. i don't want my best baseball players on the bench because they have the misfortune of being able to pitch. |

I also assumed that Larry wanted them certain positions filled otherwise I was going to run a spread as well. Its much easier to come up with a strong spread formation set with these players than a normal set IMO.

But I already allowed for the flexibility in letitng you have th epitchers hit in all games. I could've been a dick and said they only hit in the games they were pitching. I think allowing for two of your pitchers to hit in all games is fair enough.
If you want to say Ruth is going to come in and relief pitch every game, that's fine, but I'd expect the voters to tag you for it.

you can exclude me from the baseball competition. i'm not typing all that crap out again just to add some caveat, 'this is my starting lineup. except not really cuz after the fist pitch there'd be mass substitutions.' that's silly.
baseball's the only sport that doesn't allow you to put your best starting lineup on the field, which, let's be honest, is what you're being judged on anyway. best all around athletes. except the guys that can pitch and hit. those guys have to sit the bench for 3 days. no thanks. i'll take an F. |

Are you not paying attention? You can have two pitchers hit in all games. If you wanted to stretch it, you could have a third guy hit in all but one game (since that would make up a total of 8 positions.) But this teaches me a lesson. I should've just been a dick and said the pitcher only hits in the games he's starting. If you're really going to be a bitch like this, then I'll find someone to take over all your teams and set all lineups however they fit. Any volunteers?
