Longer than that. I've had it on my queue for quite a while now, I just haven't gotten around to watching it.

Anyone try to watch "The Kid Stays In The Picture" and have the video freeze during a bull fighting scene about 10-15 minutes in? I've been wanting to watch this damn documentary for a while now..

Yes. I e-mailed them about it, and promptly noticed the item was no longer available for streaming for me. Great.

When my brother was 8 or 9, he loved MMPR. He and my mom bet about whether it would still be on TV when he went to College. My mom of course thought it wouldn't be on TV. As it became clear that it was going to still be on TV she tried to change the terms to whether they would still be making new episodes. She still lost the bet.

Sweet! And I'd like to add The Adventures of Buckaroo Banzai to the cult classic list as well.

If you're into independent gore-fests, 'The Pelt' is a fun little flick. Lots of 20-some college kids doing things that make you say, "Don't do that!"

The Immaculate Conception of Little Dizzle. It sounds dumb, but seriously, its worth sitting down for.

"The Way We Get By" is a great documentary. Dives into the personal lives of the greeters as well as the actual greeting of the troops.

Eh, I'm watching a bunch of Star Trek. The complete collection(minus the animated series) will be available by the end of the year. Most of it is already up and they signed a two year contract to air it all so you have time to breeze through it all again.

Been watching the original series. Captain Kirk cracks me up.

Recently watched a few documentaries:

Dr. James Orbinski's Humanitarian Dilemma - Very very good.

From Netflix:

"Writing a book about his past experiences and the current situation in Africa, Nobel Peace Prize recipient and former head of Doctors Without Borders Dr. James Orbinski travels to Somalia, Rwanda and the Congo, where he confronts disturbing truths. This documentary follows Orbinski's incredible journey as he recalls troubling memories of violence and despair but also finds signs of solidarity, compassion and true humanitarianism."

AND

Trouble The Water - This was solid. I would recommend it. You won't learn anything new, but you will see hurricane katrina first hand from those who suffered the most.

"Filmmakers Tia Lessin and Carl Deal recount a surprising tale of heroism amid tragedy in New Orleans, where a wannabe rapper and her husband brave the floodwaters of Hurricane Katrina to rescue their neighbors. Featuring live video diary footage from the couple, the Oscar-nominated documentary is both a poignant portrait of a family's will to survive and a startling portrayal of Katrina's devastating power."

I had to go back after the first episode and figure out what the hell was going on. Had no idea that there was an original pilot that was rejected that had a totally different cast with Spock being the lone holdover.

Seriously dude, I've put up with your PS3 rants, your "Mizzou is the GREATEST" diatribes, and all the political crap, but the fact you did not know there was a separate Star Trek pilot with different characters and Pike and all that may well be the last straw

Episode 4(I think) was weird too. Seems it was the partly rejected 2nd pilot with just a partial crew. I looked it up on wiki and it seems it really did air in that order but is set a year before season 1 on the "Star Trek Timeline."

As far as I know the episode you refered to is considered canon, but it never aired until the 90's(maybe the 80s).

Yep, but I wondered if that was the "partial" pilot that dubb was referring to.

If you're looking for something different and way-the-f*ck-out-there, check out Rubber. It's about a tire named Robert that becomes sentient and starts exploding peoples' heads with his psychic powers.

The War Game

Made in 1965. This is a documentary style film. It shows the effects of a nuclear attack on a small town in England. It was banned by the BBC for being to disturbing.

It is disturbing. Very powerful. Very scary.

Im shocked.

Tried to watch Hobo With a Shotgun. Fuck, it was disgusting. I understand it is a grindhouse genre film, but I don't think my mind can process the genre. Anyways, it's a really new film to be on Instant Watch.

I thought it was pretty amazing that they got a full length film out of this premise without boring me to death. Its a curious film, but I enjoyed it for what it was. I'd say 6.5/10

Getting back to the earlier topic of streaming vs traditional cable, apparently traditional cable is having issues because you slackers are now longer paying them for your porn. Plus the article is full of double entendre:

May have been mentioned, but I'm about 25 episodes into 'Weeds'. Really funny stuff. Kevin Nealon is great along with the two female leads.

All this stuff available to watch, and I've now streamed Surviving the Game like 5 different times. It's pretty much a perfect movie. Good, Evil, an Oscar Winner, Roc, and Busey acting at a 10/10 on the crazy Busey scale.

I have DirecTV at the winery (no other options available due to lots of land around us). SD channels come in crystal clear. May need to re-check that dish alignment. Also may want to report to DirecTV as they do have occasional satellite issues that can be resolved with updated software.

Make it 2 people then . I haven't watch an SD program willingly in a loooong while. It was why I didn't watch seasons of Daily Show and Colbert (Comedy Central wasn't in HD at the time).
