I see the logic behind what Chubby has been saying, but I think I'm still going to go with the ignore Danny plan for today.

The vote pattern has felt pretty weird, Danny aside. First everyone all into voting for mauboy, then Zinto gets two and bhlloy gets two? Personally I think we generally need to be consolidating reasonably early on day 1 these days, because we tend to not have oodles of evening activity and a two horse race is generally better for the village in the long run.

Of course, Danny is always able to mess with whatever we wind up doing, yippee.

I want to vote for mauboy here, as he was on my original list and I feel kind of bad voting for ntn, but I also don't want to generate a runaway. Although I will say that I think all of my votes on ntn back in the day were justified. Then he had to go and get to be Apocalypse too. Silly RNG.

So I'm probably going to go ahead and wait a little longer. I'm not afraid to be the guy that has to cast the crappy looking vote to make sure we get a useful result.

I think the opposite is true Tyrith, usually there's way more activity towards deadline than beforehand. The game had been on for 18 hours before we had our third vote. We're less than four hours til deadline and still missing 7-8 votes. The past 4 or so games it seems like the majority of votes don't get placed until late in the day. That's been my impression anyway.

Alright, I'm voting for Narcizo. I don;t like his early vote on mauboy, despite the fact he pulled it off. I don;t like the idea of Day One votes because of your "style" of playing WW. You want to take out a UTR guy on Day Three, I'm open. Day One? That's stupid. I'd hate to think that everytime I play a WW game I risk Day One votes simply because of how I play.

If your name isn;t Blade or poli, then you shouldn't be getting dya one votes "just because"

I strongly disagree. People with fewer posts tend to be more difficult to get a read on. Accumulating votes usually encourages participation by the recipient (as an example, not to pick on him, but ntn didn't post much last game until he was on the block). By voting for those who tend to be UTR, you can generally get more information about them than you would if they didn't receive any pressure. Day 1 usually provides little to base a vote on, so anything that brings in additional information to assist in separating wolves from villagers should be welcome.

Yes. The one player we have a bead on is apparently begging us to vote for him and acting nuts. Everyone else is a normal Day One vote, and not even the votees know if they're roled or not. Information is only revealed at night. I would rather go through a cycle, even at the loss of one lynch target and subsequent vote analysis, to gain this information and hopefully have a more meaningful vote on Day Two and going forward.

It's in an information rich but hidden game like this where this sort of approach can work. Usually we don't get that.

This has generally been my logic for day 1 votes in the past. Generally, people who contribute fewer thoughts and ideas are less useful to the village than people who contribute more. The only tool I, as an individual, have to effect this behavior is to cast votes. So that's what I do.
