I'd go that route if I were a bulldog fan as well.

Is there any reason yet to believe there are any wolves?

So, those of you that are around....
What is your take on the wolves? Do you think they will be trying to win challenges? Or is there maybe some incentive for them to try to intentionally lose them - like in that reality show The Mole? |

Yes the people who volunteered are believe to be the wolves. The only question is, what is the wolf distribution? Is there one on each team or could they be more spread out...

There are quite a few reasons, and you saying this boosts by default to the top of my suspect list. Your the only person on the list, so take that for what you will.

There also could possibly be more than one wolf per tribe if more than one volunteered...

Why do people believe the volunteers are the wolves? And if you do, barkeep said one per tribe.

I am so impatient. Should it really take 3 hours to grade some poems? And I am a high school math teacher so I know about grading and how fun it can be

I don't buy that the volunteers are the wolves. There was some language that BK mentioned about evil, but I'm not sold yet.
It just doesn't seem to make sense to have people volunteer to be wolves. |

Interesting. So this would be a game with no random component? Teams were not random, and roles like seer and bodyguard are not random. Is the inference that the wolves are not random either? |

While this doesn't say those who volunteered ended up as the wolves, it seems to infer that to me. Technically it is two seperate sentences so arguably could be two seperate thoughts, but I find it unlikely. Simplest guess is that those who volunteered made up the pool the wolves were chosen from. How they were spread out among the teams I have no idea. Out of curiosity, why does it matter if the wolves were chosen from those who volunteered? The only reason I can think of that it might matter is you can perhaps try to guess which type of people might have volunteered. |

Well everyone the judges have voted. First I want to say that the poems were quite good. Quite a few of them made me laugh, though I have to admit that a few of my favorites didn't make the final cut. But of course it's not my opinion that matters, but that of the judges. Please remember that these three fine folks did this out of the generosity of their hearts and to be nicer to them than you are to me . Our three judges were a motley crew: DaddyTorgo, Talgian, and diagamma Their scoring worked as follows: Helsing Acrostic Digamma 9 (their best effort) Talgian 6 Daddy Torgo 10 Sub-total: 25 Haiku Digamma 7 (solid) Talgian 7 Daddy Torgo 9 Sub-total: 23 Limerick Digamma 4 (deducted because it was a field goal, not an extra point.) Talgian 4 Daddy Torgo 8 Sub-total: 16 Rhyme Digamma 7 (not bad) Talgian 8 Daddy Torgo 10 Sub-total: 25 Talgian Overall comments: they were NFL related, so my love was not to be had, even ignoring that, they weren't all that amusing Total: 89 Oz Acrostic Digamma 3 (this was really bad) Talgian 9 that’s a great line like I hate the Navy, I hate the Wolves Forever Daddy Torgo 7 Sub-total: 19 Haiku Digamma 9 (this was really good) Talgian 7.5 I like their haiku too Daddy Torgo 9 Sub-total: 25.5 Limerick Digamma 5 (the best of a bunch of bad limericks) Talgian 8.5 I like their limerick too, not quite as good as the acrostic but pretty good Daddy Torgo 7 Sub-total: 20.5 Rhyme Digamma 7 (solid) Talgian 10 oh my god, oz wins. Period. That's an actual shakespearean sonnet. abab cdcd efef gg. iambic pentameter. they win. if it wasn't in such perfect form, I'd give that poem like a 6.5, but considering it's perfect Daddy Torgo 8 Sub-total: 25 Talgian overall this was a very strong group of poems. The topic was good and they were well written. High marks. Total: 90 Lupus Acrostic Digamma 8 (good effort) Talgian 7.5 good message in the acrostic, but it was kind of dull Daddy Torgo 10 Sub-total: 25.5 Haiku Digamma 8 (another solid haiku effort) Talgian 7 little too emo Daddy Torgo 10 Sub-total: 25 Limerick Digamma 4 (ehhh) Talgian 7 Daddy Torgo 8 Sub-total: 19 Rhyme Digamma 9 (the best rhyming poem) Talgian 8.5 I can relate. Good effort. Amusing end. Daddy Torgo 10 Sub-total: 27.5 Talgian overall they were a fine lot, but nothing special Total: 97 Howard Acrostic Digamma 8 (solid) Talgian 8 I don’t know who JB Magic is, but I bet that’d eb really funny if you do Daddy Torgo 10 Sub-total: 26 Haiku Digamma 8 (another good haiku) Talgian 7.5 Daddy Torgo 8 Sub-total: 23.5 Limerick Digamma 5 (so so) Talgian 7 I enjoy their limerick Daddy Torgo 10 Sub-total: 22 Rhyme Digamma 7 (average for the rhyming group) Talgian 6.5 kind of lame. They don’t quite have an actual Shakespearean sonnet. They made an attempt but they failed and it’s not that hard so so deduct a point. They rhyme scheme is correct, but it’s not iambic pentameter. Daddy Torgo 9 Sub-total: 22.5 Talgian overall as a team, they seemed pretty focused and dedicated. Total: 94 This means that our winners for this challenge was Lupus! Great job to everyone. Lupus you know have two idols, a shield idol and a sword idol. One of them is an effective block against the wolves. The other is useless. In your thread you need to agree on who those two idols should go to. They may go to anyone in the game. Congrats to the winning tribe and see all of you back here tomorrow for another immunity challenge. Last edited by Barkeep49 : 02-06-2007 at 10:02 PM. |
