At the time, I believed I could do that and now I know that it is not likely. I have read through some old threads since then and realized that it was not something the bodyguard was typically able to do. Another thing to think about: If I'm not the bodyguard, why come out so strong after you? You didn't name anyone as a suspect, and if I was a wolf, I would have laid low and waited a couple nights to attack you.

How is that a contradiction? I guarded ntn because I thought he would be a good attack target. After nothing happened that night, I looked at the data at hand and came to a different conclusion. It would be a one-one exchange, if this were true. You get lynched, it comes out that you're the BG, I get lynched the next day.

Or I could wait, kill someone else tonight because you are going to guard yourself tonight, and then kill you on the next night.

If I'm a wolf, I'm going with the second option there.

This is all moot anyway because I am the bodyguard while you are a wolf. And I figure either ntn or SnDvls is the other wolf and one is the Nosy Competitor.

Except if I get lynched tonight assuming there are 2 wolves it is 4-2 with the nosy competitor who knows who the wolves are, which means as long as you don't kill the nosy competitor tonight, you win.
