ah, hahahahahahahaaaaaa
Just finished the first round of playoffs in my first season. Game started at beginning of 2010 season so the big three are all in Miami. They just got knocked out in the first round 4-2 by the Sixers To be fair LeBron is out with an elbow injury (I kid you not) so the whole series was played with "just" Wade and Bosh. Still funny |

Sweet.
Work is paying for my new phone, which means I didn't just anally rape my discretionary-spending budget for this month. Should be able to gobble this bad boy up now. |

definitely. Current long term save in 2016 (year 6) it´s 1 in the first team, 2 in the 2nd team and 2 more in the 3rd team. Also 2 and 2 in the 2 defense teams (and 3 of those guys are not on any of the 3 All NBA Teams)

Spare a thought for the 2015 Dallas Rangers in my attempt to get 15 years into a NBA history:
They have an below average offense, scoring 91.9 PPG (next to last in the league). Their top scorers are Dirk Nowitzki (the 36 year old scores 19.4 a game through 27 games), 22 year old SG Randy Mullahon (15.2), and SG JR Smith (13.3). That's the good news. The bad news? They apparently can't stop anyone from scoring on them. They let up an average of 112.0 Points Per Game.. Opponents shoot 52% from the field, and 41% beyond the three point line? The result? The worst start in NBA History. Not only that, but the longest losing streak in NBA history as well. Through 27 games, they are 0-27. Ow.

Based on that screenshot, i think the problem is the font size, it must be standard 96dpi.
Control Panel\All Control Panel Items\Display Set custom text size: Smaller - 100% (default)

The Dallas Rangers make it 43 straight losses before finally winning one, setting a record that may never be beat. However, they're playing much better now, they're 8-15 over their last 23 :P

My Toronto Raptors were 3-23 or so. I think they ended up at 21-61, a lot better after I put in Ed Davis to the starting lineup to give him some experience.
I ended up getting the #1 draft pick in the lottery and am 3-1 to start the next season. My new player is already scoring 21PPG although his FG% is low. He has extremely high scoring so he gets lots of chances, and his defense is also good so at least he's not letting a lot of offense through either. |

I took control of the Chicago Bulls. By some miracle, I am able to sign Joe Johnson, Amare Stoudemire and Lebron James. I finish the season on a 20 game winning streak to finish 67-15. Get knocked out in the FIRST ROUND! I lost the first two games at home. Panicked, slowed down my pace, played more zone ( I was playing against the Magic and Howard was killing me) and proceeded to lose in six.
What I thought would have been cool, but didn't happen was if there was grousing in the press about maybe my sudden change in coaching style, or players getting into fights...something! So it would be neat in a patch or maybe the next version to have playoff meltdowns trigger some sort of action. Now onto the next season to prove my team isn't a bunch of chokes! |

Is there a way to quickly see the players you hold the rights to but haven't signed (Rubio for example)?

Just an update to say that 1.1 is now official and available at DDS:PB2 Update - Latest version 1.1 - Page 2 - Wolverine Studios
Even if you grabbed the beta to 1.1 you should get this update too since it fixes a couple extra bugs and I added one or two other new things like showing the overall/potential in the free agent screen. 1.2 beta will follow shortly and that will initially just be an attempt at working with the created rookies. |

Quick bump here - working on the 1.2 update to deal with rookie class generation. Hopefully will have something test-worthy shortly.

Going to be releasing a new build tomorrow for the start of the season with final rosters and the new rookie class generation code. Did a lot of tweaking there and am pretty happy with the classes being generated now.

Gonna hafta put this on my "Nov. games purchases" list.
At least I already bought one copy of FM this month, and will only be buying 1 next month as a gift, so I should be okay within budget. |

Gary. If we bought the game during beta do we need to download the full install and re-activate? I downloaded it and it went straight to my old saves so I'm not sure if I'm still using the beta or if I have the retail version.

Look on the main menu when the game starts - if it says 1.1 you have the most recent version. If not head to our website and get the 1.1 (or wait until tomorrow for 1.2) |

Even if they were great he would want more Im sure. I think the newest release of Puresim was a bit of a downer for Shaun and Wolverine Studios. We need to do what we can to keep these guys going so they keep making us games. |

Sweet, just finished my first season and getting ready for summer league. This game is simply a lot of fun very glad I bought it. Just to be clear is this a 1.2 full release or a 1.2 beta? I ask because 1.1 came as a beta followed by 1.1 full. Thanks. |

Probably just 1.2 full since the only thing I have touched is the rookie class generation and fixed one crash and the rosters will be updated - nothing that should cause the need for "beta testing" other than seeing if the new classes offer a better long term pool of players which they should.
I actually feel the game was producing too many "highly rated" players so you're going to see fewer guys with the really high star ratings but of those guys you had guys who would shoot terrible percentages or SGs with unrealistic shot blocking ratings etc...so fixing those things make the players on average appear to be rated less but they'll be more effective players for what their ratings are. I think its a good change. |

Just when I want to not try this game because I'm not a big basketball fan, the more the good feedback keeps me on the fence of buying anyways Sounds like Gary did a good job with this one and it is only a matter of time before I break down and purchase.

1.2 is now available - not much in the way of bug fixes but updated rosters (most were dead on anyways with my guesses for final roster) and I added in some historical data for the draft

You should be fine out of the box - just make sure your dpi is set to normal font size. Everything used in the game is now the stock controls that come right from Microsoft so there's no reason there should be an issues with Win 7

If you need some more convincing we've had a couple of reviews and The Blog for the Sports Gamer interviewed me about the game. All that can be found here if you are interested. DDS:PB2 In The Media - Wolverine Studios |

Kinda where I have been at. I played the previous DDS game and it was pretty good, although I felt the games were too high scoring; very little attention seemed to paid to defense. I haven't read this entire thread, Gary, but have there been any improvements to the defensive side of things in this new installment of DDS? |

Yes, in fact a bunch of new code was added to prevent you from being able to assemble a team of players who were not good "scorers" but had high efficiency at shooting and having a team that just shoots a really high percentage and scores a bunch of points. Take the free demo for a spin - nothing to lose there. |

Has anybody played with 22 teams and then expanded ? Is the talent level coming in via the draft gradually adjusted to the league size in that szenario ?

Okay - so I don't understand how to edit the fields within the .dat file using openoffice base. I can open up the table so that I can see the fields, but they're not editable? WTF?

1.3 patch has been released.
1.3 Fixes --------- - fixed crash when file has thousands of free agents heading into free agency (usually only an issue if Euro leagues were enabled and many seasons had been simmed) - fixed rare crash after owner call - fixed overflow crash after end season when team ownership is changing hands for pro team - fixed bug where Euro owner would not answer call on day of looking for job - changed AI logic in dealing with serious injuries. Now if a player has received a serious, long term injury the AI should sit him out no matter what until his injury is at least 85% healed. It will allow players with minor injuries to come back from injury sooner than 85% but not for seriously injured players. See page 5 of this thread for my reasoning on this.
