Officially clinched promotion. Also drew my first 10* player from the OF pack today, while trying to pull a Josh Hamilton. If anyone has Hamilton, I'll trade a Carlos Gonzales for him.

Got off to a 6-1 start against the also-rans to jump up to 2nd, then went 1-2 in my stretch against promotion candidates to fall back down to 4th.

Breakfast IS the most important meal of the day apparently.

We're 1 game up on the two outsiders right now with 5 remaining, and the highest-placed team we face the rest of the day is Team Sega, in 8th.

Hopefully we finish the day as strongly as we started it.

I'm guessing it's not coincindence that my favorite team is the Mets and I have gotten a lot of Mets players thru scouting.

Just pulled Angel Pagan a 8star OF, i downgraded my O at 2b(keeping same D) by going to another met so I could work Pagan into the lineup

5 games to go.

I'm in 4th, 11 games behind 3rd.
5th is a game back of me.
6th is 3 games back.
7th is now 5 games back and eliminated.

I've got the 7th (5-4), 1st (5-4), 6th (4-5), 3rd (2-7) and 12th (6-3) place teams remaining.

5th place plays 1st, 7th, 10th, 13th and 9th.

6th gets 16th, 14th, 4th, 8th and 2nd.

And all it took was an 8-2 day to even get to this point and the heavy lifting isn't even done yet.

Four games left, I'm up into a tie for 3rd, and the gap between 2nd and 6th remains 2 games.

I have 10th, 8th, 14th and 13th remaining on the schedule, so I'd *like* to think I'm in reasonably okay shape here.

Tampa has 9th, 2nd, 11th and 16th left. SodaWater has 2nd, 9th, 16th and 11th. So their schedules directly compete with one another.

"Lee's team," in 2nd, is up 2 games with four to play. Winning their next two would not only be helpful to me, but would clinch themselves a promotion spot.

Oh, and my next two pitchers are Felix Hernandez and David Price.

Wins with those two going and Lee's Team clinching their own spot would leave me needing one win in my final two games to promote.

Welp, 4 games to go now and nothing changes as 4th, 5th and 6th all won their last game. Was really hoping the top team would help me out a bit by beating the 5th place squad, but why not make it interesting right to the end.

Yeah, I made promotion today. Still have only 2 8s (one, Bourn - doesn't play and is open for trade) and nothing about 8. Would be nice if I could get a pitcher above 7* at some point.

Just pulled 1B Teixieria from a 1000 point single random pull. Finally hit on one of those.

So what are the A-league teams doing the next two days? My rookie league still has two days left before the next season is due to start.

LOL. Just beat a team and the losing pitcher, C.Coleman, falls to 0-23.

Lee's Team wins both of theirs to clinch promotion. We win both of ours. Tampa's out of it, so it's between us, Dukes and SodaWater for those final two spots. SodaWater is 2 out with two to play, so a loss by them or a win from us seals the deal.

Cool, we're ranked #12 in the rankings and we beat the #1 and #2 teams this morning. Wonder where we'll be tomorrow.

Can't wait to get outta rookie league. Wish we could expand our roster quicker.

We finished the season in 3rd place with a 98-52 record. We finished as the only team with an ERA below 4, and had the 4th best avg.

I had 2 players play the entire season, Annibal Sanchez and Pedro Viola. They both get an additional training slot. Haven't seen what that get's me yet.

We added over 400 ranking points today with 3 more wins over top ranked opponents, and another 4-1 record in games where we were challenged. Considering we started at #48, I expect it to jump a bit higher next day.

We finished in 2nd place with 106-44 record. Finished 7 games behind the 1st place team!

As far as hitting goes, we were pretty middle of the road, but we did lead the league in Stolen Bases.

Pitching... only team with ERA under 4 at 3.71, 3rd in Ks, and 1st in Saves.

Also had one of the best fielding teams with only 27 Errors (3rd best).

I finish 2nd in my league, 101-49, eleven games back of the team that won the weekend tournament. 4 games up on 3rd & 4th though, as they went 5-5 down the stretch while I won 9 straight before losing the finale to the league champ. I really think the key to today's success was a panic move early this morning, when I changed the lineup & installed Asdrubal Cabrera at SS to be my leadoff hitter. The only 13 games he played for me all year produced 20 runs, 23 hits, 14 RBI's and a 1.097 OPS.

Nick Swisher is my only hitter in the top three of anything, with 161 RBI's which was good for 3rd. Kris Medlen's 17 Wins was also 3rd in the league, my only top three pitcher in any category.

Another scouting failure. All 2, 3, and 4 in a random pack.

Needed one win in the final two games to clinch promotion, and ended up winning them both. Apparently I got some help as well, as we finished in 2nd place.

108-42 record, team average of .315 (which I think led the league) and an ERA of 3.79 (not bad, all things considered).

We finished with two 19-game winners, I think, and those final two games were 2k point games for us. Not sure why.

The point/card bonus for promotion is nice, though.

Ruthian Blast - Contact/Contact/Clutch/Power = +2 Pw/+1 Ct/+1 Cl

Mow Them Down - Break/Break/Power/Clutch = +2 Cl/+1 Sp/+1 Pw

Ruthian Blast also shows up with contact/clutch/clutch/power, offhand.

FWIW, just noticed that there appears to be a cap on how many points you can store, specifically 100,000.

Bonuses that would have pushed me over that limit simply disappeared, so plan your spending accordingly I guess.

And I'm out. Eliminated in my second game of the day (labeled as Round 3?) when the bullpen gives up four runs in the top of the 8th for a 6-4 loss.

Random note of realism, Brooks Conrad made like 4 errors for me playing most of the season but made 2 costly errors in this post-season game. Spooky.

So, should we get our roster down to 81 points after we're out of the tourney and if I'm going to AA? Going to be traveling tomorrow and may not be able to set my roster.

Based on the documentation that appears to be correct. Apparently it will automatically reduce your roster to legal limits but I think we'd all rather make our own choices instead of leaving it to fate (since rotation mishaps would take 20% of the season to correct).

While I'm posting I'll mention that I was able to reorder my rotation before the start of the tournament so anyone who wants to tinker with that might be able to today but almost certainly would have a chance to before play begins tomorrow.

Ended up in 4th place after the regular season. 3-0 on the day so far with 2 wins on the road. Not sure how this works as those games were labeled 2nd, 3rd and 4th round games while my upcoming game is called a 6th round game. Looks like all top 4 teams must get lumped together in a big pool as I'm playing teams from outside my league. According to the standings listed I've played 2nd, 1st and 4th place teams so far with a 1st place squad coming up next.

It looks like it's still in the quarterfinals, and those games happen in about 5 hours, according to the "Top 8" page.

FWIW nobody from my friends list is in the Top 8.

Lost in the 4th game today. Paring down to 81 points after that was painful.

Yeah, no kidding. It took me a while to remember the 2-4 point guys I had trained early on. Would be nice if there was a way to sort by "trained".

That's certainly one area I'd like to see the game improved. Being able to sort and see all of your players (and their abilities) at once. Sorting by position is a nice start, but they still really limit how much information you can see at once. Being able to look at all my fielders in a spreadsheet type format along with their defensive ratings at their eligible positions would be really nice.

That or an export feature to be able to do this. It's a bit of a pain to be constantly trying to keep a spreadsheet updated with all that information yourself depending on how often you buy player packs/do upgrades/etc.

Interesting. We placed 3rd, and were knocked out in the 3rd round of the games today, but we have yet to see anything having to do with promotion, points bonuses or extra cards. Additionally, our cap limit is still 120. I wonder what's going on?

Also, our ranked games have been brutal today. We went 1-4 against the top 5 teams, but we have still won a better percentage of our challenged games. Currently at 2268 for points. I imagine I will drop a bit after today's games.

I did see where we were able to grab ranking wins against both Arlie's and Jon's teams. Thanks guys!

Cap limit won't drop until the next season starts, I'd imagine. They can't drop it selectively, and cutting it for the tournament would be asstarded.

Okay, so you can see those? And get points for them?

I had decided that we only got credit for the 5 games per day we played ourselves; i.e. the teams we played didn't gain/lose anything for them. Was I wrong about that?

My guess is he saw you guys in the pool of games he could play.

Further, I think that in addition to the 5 games you play, you can *be* played up to an additional 55 times. You get no reward, but those games factor in with the games you actively play to determine your ranking each day.

Yeah, I am pretty sure that I have gotten points on games that I have won when I have been challenged, but I wasn't really paying attention so I could be wrong. But yes, in my games played section on the ranked side, it shows the last 10 games played. Yes, you can be challenged up to 55 times. I think I have played about 20 games today so far.

We are certainly dropping tomorrow, today hasn't been good at all.

You don't only have to play the rivals on the page, you can play any of the top 30 ranked teams as well. That has been the reason for the big upshot of games today.

So you don't get the kind of points that you can spend but you do get the kind of points that determine your ranking. Right?

Just for the record, trying to get down to 81 points felt almost as brutal as trying to help my son get down to 71 points. Yikes does this lineup look ugly.

WTH? So there's another tournament today? And at the previous cap, not the new one?

I thought the WCT (or whatever it's called) was for the past champions, not every single team in the league. That the new season (and cycle) started Thursday ... which is why I've bumped my team down to the new limit. But since I'm seeing a random scheduled game for Thursday, apparently I'll be taking an 81 point lineup out against teams still at 120. And it'd be crazy to adjust the starting rotation back upwards since that would cost me those players for the first two days of the new regular season. With my current rotation it'd be a waste of time to bother resetting the hitting lineup, no chance in hell of beating anybody with the relative scrubs on the mound anyway.

Probably just me being stupid but it doesn't make me any less pissed.

I'm still of the opinion that they haven't resorted the promoted and demoted teams yet, so you don't know what league you're headed for. I suspect that will still be a AA game.

Okay, correction. The World Tournament is kinda akin to the conference tournaments in NCAA hoops. Even the 11th place scrub teams can play, typically, but the champions get the automatic (or in the case of MLBMO, only) berths.

WCT has nothing to do with winning your league. That's the tournament we just had, where the top four teams in each league competed.

WCT kinda = March Madness.

And, yeah, my opponent is still at 120/120. Oops. C'mon, Huff. Pitch the game of your life.

For what it's worth, my 81 point team kept it close against five of the top 200 teams in the ranking matches tonight, so I'm at least mildly optimistic. Maybe my opponents will get fucked over on chemistry and forget to check.

I see that I finished 153rd in the Champions Tournament, whatever the heck that's worth I guess.

Loving the typos/translation errors.

"1st Cycle's World Tournament starts today.
World Tournament is the one-day tournament that all teams gathers and aim for the world's champion of the cycle. Champion will get the chance to exceed to World Campions Tournament (WCT)!"

(yes, it says Campions)
