Haag report: I should note that Alex Haag bounced back from his two year slump and had a terrific year with the Redskins. He completed 61.1% of his passes, for 3650 yards, 32 TD, and 11 INT. This led the Redskisn to a 13-3 record and 1st round bye. I should also note that he had another terrible playoff performance and the Skins were out in the divisional round.

Offseason Notes:
*Dolphins retirements WR Andre Johnson - Andre joined the team in 2012 and became a formidable #2 option . He broke 1000 yards twice, and was a great backup in recent years. He caught 4 passes for 66 yards in our Superbowl win. S Ron Bartell - Ron joined the Dolphins in 2010 and was a solid starter for us for 6 years. As good as he was in coverage, he was even better against the run. In 2015, he had 102 tackles and 31 assists, and this was not on a weak defensive unit. He was 1st Team Safety in 2008 and 2014, and 2nd Team in 2009. TE Marcedes Lewis - A veteran I signed last season simply because of his special teams and long snapping ability. He did have 23 Special Teams tackles last season. *Other retirees include CB Antrel Rolle, QB Matt Schaub, QB Rex Grossman, T Winston Justice, WR Ted Ginn Jr., DE Baraka Atkins, RB Ron Duncan, QB JP Losman, K Nate Kaeding, QB Quinn Gray, QB Patrick Ramsey, TE Vernon Davis, RB Emmanuel Massoulf, WR Braylon Edwards, QB Philips Rivers, *Vince Young did not retire. I consider releasing him (both of my backups are good enough to start now) to save the cap room he is costing, but I will wait for now. *Last year's stadium plan was rejected, but I submitted a new plan for an ambitious outdoor stadium. If it's rejected, I might move the team to Melbourne. *All my coaches are locked up. *I don't have anyone on the Green Page, perhaps showing my drafts have not been very strong. I have the #17 pick this year. *CB Tom Bronson is sent to the Summer League.

Free Agency
Week 1 - *I had high hopes for CB Andrew Matheny and CB Everett Hawkins. Both of them fell apart by their 2nd year and were ineffective the few times they did see action after that. They are both released along with usless OLB Larry Hawkes, who was sucking up tons of cap space. *DE Bobby Shields, S John Brown, DE Neal Dawkins, G Arnold Ellard, C Tito Galloway, and WR Quinn Pappas all get extensions. *After renegotiations, I have $17 million in cap room. It's a rich free agent market this year and I may trade away some draft picks (or cut Vince) to get some of these people. Week 2 - *Offseason priorities are CB, DE, DT, WR, OLB. I make an offer for at least one guy in each position. I also make offers for S Michael Griffin and C Lenny Speers to remain with the team. Week 3 - *I lost out on two stud DE's that went elsewhere. Speers and Griffin sign on for another year. Week 4 - *WR Juan Dillon leaves the Skins and signs our 4 year, $26 million. He was the best FA WR available, and with Andre gona and Calvin aging, we needed a top target again. Also, I won't deny that it's nice to take a target away from Haag. *DE Daryl Druckenmiller is small consolation for missing out on the other DE's. He's got great pass rush strength and is decent against the run. Week 5 - *CB Donny Hawkins is the biggest, msot important signing this offseason. We gave him a 6 year, $45 million deal. CB has been our weakest spot for a while now and it is finally filled. Week 6 - *Running out of money, I am forced to release aging G Josh Beekham and DE Jon Wimberley. *TE Howard Steigler is our most talented player at the position since Randy McMichael left. He agreed to our 3 year, $11 million offer. Week 7 - *Nothing. We decide to try and keep veteran DT Claude Wroten and up our offer to stud OLB Corey Compton. Week 8 - *Wroten agrees to a minimal 1 year offer to stay with us. Week 9 - *Our last huge signing in what turned out to be a great FA period for us. OLB Corey Compton fills another one of our big holes by agreeing to a $50 million, 5 year deal. *TE Broderick Cohn agrees to stay on for one more year, even if in a backup role. And that's it for free agency.

1(17) - CB Roger Hasting, Wake Forest
Eventhough I made a big FA splash, I still need to solidify the #2 spot. CB Tom Bronson shows potential, but he could flop in year 2 like my last two rookie CB's did. Hasting is 51% developed, has terrific potential, and low volatility. He's also Very Underrated. 2(16) - DE Tito Lane, Penn State My one offseason failure was being unable to sign two great De's that were ont he market. Hopefully this will make up for it. Unlike most of my DL, Lane is both a very good run stopper and pass rusher. He's 57% developed and Very underrated. 3(15) - WR Hardy Gilmore, Minnesota In retrospect, not the best pick I could have made, but I need to start developing some WR's for the future. This guy has terrific game breaking potential, but has a major weakness in route running. 4(14) - OLB Dusty Burks, Arizona I don't know how this guy fell so far. He's got great numbers across the board, and is listed as Very Underrated. He should have been a 2nd round pick. 5(13) - CB Richard Puppe, LSU I feel really good about this pick. Puppe has very high potential in many categories, including Man to Man, Bump and Run, and Interceptions. Even if he doesn't work out there, he is a great Punt and Kick returner, and we will use him there. 6(10) - T Oscar Hohltt, Vanderbilt With Beekham gone, I need to shore up depth on the line. Hohltt has low blocking strength, but nice potential in everything else. 6(12) - G Nicky Wilton, Ohio State See above. 7(11) - DT Leon Clavell, Oregon State Could develop into a very good run stopper, much like Bubba Rasmussen, but has better pass rushing abilities than Bubba. 7(17) - T Lincoln Anderson, Ball State Another shot at a late round OL steal.

Late FA -
*All my rookies sign immediately. *The Arizona Cardinals are having a fire sale. They have cut 10 players during Late FA, including 3rd year G Sherman Hulbert (94/96), 13th year QB Matt Leinart (77/77), 12th year T Justin Blalock (68/68), and 4th year QB Gary Karim (53/73). I don't have enough money to sign these guys, but I also try not to capitalize too much on AI stupidity. I'd love to have Karim, though. *I invite 60 people to camp once again, including several guys I had interviewed but never got drafted. *I looked for a better Kicker, but in the end stick with Tynes. Holding out on him allowed me to get him for a much lower price, though. *Where the Cardinals players went: Matt Leinart signed with the Seahawks, Sherman Hulbert joined the Chiefs, Justin Blalock signed with the Packers, and Gary Karim signed with the Redskins (competition for Haag again). I am elated that none of them are in the AFC East.

The Power Rankings have us listed as the 5th best team in the league, but I fear our DL will be manhandled by any team with a decent running attack. The worst team is of course the Arizona Cardinals. I don't think I've seen a worse AI team ever. They have 22 rookies starting. Only one of them is rated above 21. I will be shocked if they win a single game.

We survive preseason free of injuries and Vince is healty for the opener.
Week 1 - Buffalo 30, Miami 17 We once again get beat up in the opener. Just as I had feared, the run defense was nowhere to be found. Bills RB Darren McMurrin ran for 176 yards. Vince had a tough game and I'm putting him on notice.

two of my best players, S Courtney Denham and WR Juan Dillon will be out for 4 weeks.
Week 2 - Chicago 27, Miami 14 Vince has another terrible game, and I'm giving him one more week to right the ship. No reason we should have lost this one. Chicago played like crap. We just played worse.

Now that's more like it. Vince Young responds to the threat by going 10 of 13 for 131 yards. Great play by my rookies: Sharkey ran for 65 yards on 8 carries, Hawkins and Burke both picked off passes, and Gerald Small returned a kickoff 96 yards for a TD.

We lose a defensive slugfest and fall to 1-3. Vince Young was able to drive us to the Patriots 13 yard line, but then threw an INT that ended the game. It's time to give someone else a chance.

We lose both of our Guards. Howard Dotson is out for the season and Cornell Tanner is out for 5 weeks.
Week 5 - Jacksonville 35, Miami 24 Well Robinson got us some more offense, but Jacksonville RB Brady Schokora embarassed the defense with 17 carries for 210 yards and 2 TD.

WR Juan Dillon - Out CB Donny Hawkins - Out G Cornell Tanner - Out S Courtney Denham - Out WR Dwayne Jarret - Out G Howard Dotson - Out All except Jarrett are starters, and he was the #3 WR.

Week 6 - Miami 14, Tennessee 9
A banged up squad squeaks by the Titans. Robinson threw 2 INT's and the offense couldn't get going, but the defense held Tennesee to 246 total yards and did not allow any TD's in 3 red zone visits.

Vince plays what is probably his last game as a Dolphin. It was a good way to go out. He had 287 yards, 3 TD's and led us on an exciting 4th quarter comeback against our hated rivals. Down 23-14 with 3 minutes left, Vince threw a TD pass to Shiver to make it a 2 point game. After the dfense forced a 3 and out, Vince put us in FG range and Tynes hit the 49 yarder with 44 seconds left.

Calvin Johnson has retired. He had quite a career.
He was 1st Team WR three times, 2nd Team WR two times, and NFL's Fastest Man three times. Counting pre-sim historical numbers, Calvin is the Miami Dolphins record holder in Career Receptions, Single Season Receptions, Receptions in a Game, Career Receiving Yards, Single Season Receiving Yards, Career TD Receptions, Career 100 Yard Receiving Games, and 100 Yard Receiving Games in a Season (tied with Mark Duper). Too bad we're not getting him in real life.

*Other retirees include two time 1st Team DT Claude Wroten, and starting G Cornell Tanner. *Notable league wide retirees are FB Brian Leonard, WR Braylon Edwards, T Marcus McNeil, and DT Broderick Bunkley. *Notable RL players still trucking away: Vince Young, Philip Rivers, Carson Palmer, Brady Quinn, Tyler Palko, Dwayne Jarrett, Brian Brohm, D'Brikashaw Ferguson, Eli Manning, Ben Roethlisberger, Alex Smith, Matt Leinart, Stephen Gostkowski, and Jason Campbell. *1st Round Pick CB Roger Hasting is now rated 49/64 and gets the summer league invite. *Vince Young's contract is up, but he still wants to play. I'm not gonna tag a 14th year guy, though. I'll see what he wants in free agency.

*I give extensions to Arnold Ellard, Will Ferrer, and Stanley Prescott. This leaves me with $34.5 million in cap space. Plenty of money to do alot of damage. *New Signees: DT Burt Craig - Step one in rebuilding my once powerful DL. Craig is a stud DT who is only in his 5th year. I signed him for a 5 year, $52.91 million deal. DT Greg Sellers - Step two in rebuilding the DL. Sellers is more of a pass rush specialist than Craig, but is not a big liability in run defense. He will compete with Prescott for a spot in the lineup. TE Kerry Netter - Netter is a better receiver than my current TE and they will battle for the starting spot. G JC Stansberry - I need some depth at Guard and Stansberry will be a very good fit as a backup. K Walt Moln - Tynes has declined too much, so it's time to start over at this position. Moln has terrific accuracy, but a weak leg. I will keep him until I find someone better. This leaves me with $12 million in cap space. I'll save this for late FA to snag any guys cut in cost saving moves. I passed on Vince Young. He wanted a 2 year, $18 million deal. I thank him for giving us our Superbowl title, but I'm not paying that much for a guy on the decline. The Lions signed him.

Be interesting to compare Johnson's rookie numbers to his Dolphins' rookie numbers. A lot of people are saying he's the undisputed #1 pick this year.

The dynasty was started pre-patch and Calvin's lack of production in his rookie year is probably due to the recevier playing time bug.

Wesley will finally get the starting job he's been waiting for. His overall ratings have dropped a bit, but his accuracy is better than Ferrer and he throws fewer INT's. Code:
Don't let the overall rating fool you. Sharkey is a slippery running back who can make defenders look foolish. I expect a good year from him. Garcia is at the tail end of his career, but is still a good blocker. Code:
Replacing Calvin will be tough. Dillon is a very good WR, but behind him I have untested ability with 4 very green players. th round draft pick Cecava came out of camp looking really nice and will start the year. Netter looks even better than when I signed him. Code:
I've got some good talent here, especially when Dotson is healthy. Nobody is great, but we're fairly deep and have some good youngsters. Rookie Zlotnick will get a chance to start the year at RT. Code:
Chapman will be here for a while. Moln is a temporary solution. I will look for a better kicker next year. Code:
Winslett looks terrific out of camp. Really excited to see what he can do.The other DE spot is still the weak link here. I'm loaded at DT. Code:
I'm taking a chance and letting Schroeder start at SLB. He is very rgeen but if he develops could be a great find. Code:
A key unit this year. We have some real nice talent here and they'll have to hold up well to make up for some of our other gaps. Hasting is everything I expected when I drafted him last year.

Good start to the season. Robinson had an average game, but the defense came up big. Our secondary came up with 4 INT's and the pass rush contributed 4 sacks.

Wow! WE thoroughly beat the crap out of Dallas. All units played well in thsi one. Wesley had a couple TD's with no INT's, Shiver and Sharkey combined for 132 yards, and the revamped DL came up with 7 sacks. Dallas is a pretty good team (on paper, at least), so this one is a good omen for the season.

Week 3 - Miami 21, Tennessee 10
Another week, another great win. We were down 10-0, but thanks to Wesley Robinson (go ahead TD run) and our great secondary (3 INT's) we stormed back for the victory. Note: I just noticed that there will be a huge game in week 16. We will travel to Washington to take on Alex Haag and the Redskins. Can't wait for that one.

Week 6 - Miami 35, Cleveland 26
The Dolphins silence all doubters this week as they beat a 4-1 Cleveland squad to go 6-0. Sammie Shiver had TD runs of 5, 10, and 32, along with 122 rushing yards. Robinson had another strong outing with 327 yards and 2 TD's. Pass D wasn't flashy in this one, but they held Cleveland QB Lewis Hanson to under 50% completions.

Week 7 - Miami 14, Pittsburgh 10
When is it too soon to talk about an undefeated season? We shoot to 7-0 behind Sammie Shiver's 147 yards rushing . There is a concern with the offensive line, which have up 5 sacks last week and 4 sacks this week.

Week 10 - Baltimore 52, Miami 25
Ouch. What a way to end a winning streak. It was only a 10 pt. game entering the 4th quarter, but Baltimore scored on three consecutive 4th quarter drives to trun it into a blowout. Baltimore's legendary QB Kirk Johnston riddled our pass defense with 15-26 for 366 yards and 4 TD.

Week 11 - Miami 21, NY Jets 10
One of th emost important games of the year for us. Not only did we regroup from last week's blowout, but we beat the Jets, who were only 1 game behind us at 7-2. Robinson was 20-24 for 216 yards. MLB Chuck McNiven plugged the middle with 11 Tackles and 3 Assists.

Week 13 - Miami 27, Oakland 3
A 7-0 game broke wide open in the 4th quarter when we scored 17 points in the span of 2:44. Wesley Robinson didn't throw any picks this week, and showed off some fireworks with a 70 yard TD pass in the 1st quarter.

Week 14 - Miami 15, NY Giants 9
An early missed extra almost cost us this one. The Giants were able to tie it in the 4th quarter and send it to OT. Wesley came up big in another clutch situation by throwing a 41 yard TD pass to backup WR Fido Rock to win it in OT. This win clinches the AFC East!!

Ugly game. Who cares, we won the AFC East, right? We better start caring because the Ravens are only 1 game behind us for home field advantage. At least Ferrer got some time in this one and did well.

A bit of a letdown, because not only did Haag not play (has has lost his starting job to Gary Karim), but the team played lifeless once again. Wesley had 4 passes picked off and we fumbled the ball 3 times. We need a win and a Baltimore loss to get home field advantage. Also, I'd really like to get a win heading into the playoffs.

I was wondering what was taking so long for the week 17 update, but then I remembered you have played quite a few seasons. And the game updates a lot of season stats at the end of week 17. I'll be patient.
