After yesterday's embarrassment the residents of Atlantic City are worried about sending another innocent man or woman to jail. But the pressure is on also to clean up the city. Just yesterday the town was written up in the New York Times for having a brothel operating in 500 yards of a school building. Something has to be done.

You dig up what you hope is damning evidence on Fontisian and send it to the police. They do the rest in a daring multi-team raid on her condo. The first thing they find is a plane ticket from Vegas, not all that unusual here. Also a lot of hair care products. But when they uncover a load of stolen casino chips and a suitcase full of unmarked bills they think maybe they've found something. The DA holds a press conference claiming they've caught a member of the Vegas crime family, once thought to be finished. It seems they only went underground, to Atlantic City.

Fontisian was a member of the Vegas Mafia! She'll be locked up for a good long time.

I'd like to point out that this still doesn't clear Jackal and Brit from suspicion - they could be from the opposing family.

I wouldn't normally suggest this, but I'm wondering...if we assume a good guy got the BG, does the seer reveal so we know where to place the guard?

Though if the BG got bought by baddies, that would be unpleasant.

That second part is the problem I think. I don't believe that is worth the risk.

If after all we receive no notice from the purchasers of those, I am going to presume those are mafia-bought. While I think this game has gotten off to a slow start post-wise, I would guess that those who bought the services are fully invested in the game and will have checked in by now.

I had the ladies sent to me, though you all know that already. Admittedly, however, this is the first point in time I've seen anyone ask about the ladies.

I purchased the Cookie Ladies yesterday and sent them to britrock. Why brit? He had a singleton vote yesterday and was one of two players who didn't get additional votes after their initial one (not counting whoever path switched off of). I also thought he was a bit off his normal self (though he obviously seems pretty busy and it could just be that). I also felt pretty strongly that he didn't buy the seer based on the price paid for the seer. Obviously the fact that he was unable to use services last night coupled with the 'no night kill without the BG being purchased' looks fairly suspicious for him, especially when he didn't come out and mention his night with the ladies or that he bought the night kill with his first post today. I confirmed with Autumn that even if he didn't purchase a service he would still be aware that the service was used against him.

So either we had a stroke of really good luck here or what I mentioned early in the day regarding mafia-on-mafia night kill happened and brit was in the wrong place at the wrong time. I think the coincidence of no night kill when he was prevented from using services, his initial check in post lacking the information about what happened yesterday evening, and the reasons I gave for sending him the ladies in the first place are pretty good reasons to vote his way today.

Unvote murrayyyyy
Vote britrock

As JAG says in here, I am plenty busy. I've worked 9-1 for the past two days, and am still at work now, so I'm also exhausted.

And even if I had had the time/capacity earlier in the day to think coherently about revealing that the ladies were sent my way... this was a damned if I do/damned if I don't situation. I knew that there was no NK, and that I had the ladies sent to me. In truth, I've barely done anything in this game. But that lack of action from my quarters can be painted to make me look awfully suspicious.

Yeah, but Jackal just gave us a bad guy. That gains him, if not trust, at least not my vote for now.

I think we can talk about people who get my trust of not being Vegas-mob. I put Jackal, DV (fonti voted) and mau (voted fonti yesterday) in that group. So it seems a low percentage play to chase those three tomorrow. Don't actually think there's anything that says that Brit can't be Vegas, to be honest.

On the other hand there's InBlue, Danny and DT who all look strange with their Britrock votes. If anything, perversely, I think Danny's vote makes him more likely to be on the non-Vegas team. I don't see him trying to save fontisian were he on the same team as her in that position. Then again I have difficulty seeing Danny voting Britrock were he village. I can easily see a new player voting to try and save fontisian on the other hand, so I think InBlue looks pretty bad based on the vote.

I think it is pretty dodgy that Brit didn't reveal that he had been visited by the ladies. It seems the most logical thing for a villager to do. Then again it was obviously going to come out one way or the other so I don't see why a wolf-Brit wouldn't reveal it either. Makes me believe his explanation to some degree.

I'm having a bit of trouble getting my head round a villager getting the nightkill for $350. That's a third of the standard starting money. I can't really fathom that neither team bid more than that. Then again I think wolf-Jackal/Jackal's team would probably target someone other than fontisian if they had a nightkill and there was no bodyguard. Puts Jackal just under Jag in my circle of trust.

For reasons I don't really want to express I kind of trust Danny as well. Were Danny a wolf then I'd expect something to happen that didn't. Admittedly there's a lot of what-ifs and maybes attached to that trust so it's far from being more than a vague level of trust but there it is.

Oh yeah, I guess mau leaving his vote on fontisian despite her not really being a candidate yesterday probably shouldn't earn him a fantastic amount of trust on the Vegas side - normally it would actually be the opposite. Mau claimed he missed the vote and bid on fontisian. I don't think its impossible for wolf-mau to vote a team-mate early on day one. If he's planning on being around then it's easy to shift the vote off near deadline for whatever reason. So I don't really think I want to flood mau in a wave of Vegas-trust. And he was acting pretty defensively yesterday to the extent of attaching his vote to the nearest trusted villager in defence 5 hours before the deadline.

Though I would point out that InBlue voted DT to 4 D1, so it's unlikely they're working together unless she was willing to put that vote down because she knew DT would switch off to self-protect. It would be a pretty bold vote switch at that late point from me to a teammate though.

Here was my logic when voting for Britrock:
Brit was already suspicious, because of JAG's reveal. Then came Jackal's reveal, condemning fontisian. That meant font/Jackal could have gone two ways: Jackal is village/telling the truth and font is mafia, or Jackal is lying and font is innocent (which would still make brit suspicious, because they could be working together.)
So if you added up all the "suspicion points" from that, font would have one, Jackal would have one, and brit would have two.
Logic -> britrock. Simple.

Actually to clarify: font/Jackal could have both been mafia, but on different teams. So even now that we know font was mafia, Jackal could still have been lying and just gotten lucky.

Yeah, you misunderstood me. I didn't mean that both were on the same team, but that both bore looking at. I just think InBlue's vote is more suspect than DT's, given HER newness and the timing of the votes. Then again maybe InBlue has played a lot werewolf/mafia somewhere else and we're doing her a disservice, as my case against her is based on her newness.

Except the case against fontisian was a lot stronger than the case against britrock at the time you voted. I know its easy for me to sit here in the bright light of day and say that but it really is.

JAG's case against Britrock was built on Britrock possibly having the nightkill. As soon as Jackal came out and said that they had got the nightkill the case against Britrock boiled down to him not revealing that he'd been spending the night with the ladies. Unless Jackal was lying to save Brit. But if Jackal was lying lynching Britrock wouldn't really help - we'd still need to lynch fontisian to see if Jackal was on the up and up, because Brit being wolf still wouldn't prove that Jackal is a baddy.

Another beautiful morning in Atlantic City. The sky is blue, the gulls are calling. It's a shame more people don't vacation here. Though perhaps that man crying in the street and saying he'll pay them back could be part of the reason.

You grab the newspaper on the way to the casino. There's stories about the arrests, of course. But it seems nothing else happened last night.

Aye - I'm guessing that the bodyguard did his job last night although another nightkill attempt on a wolf would be nice.
