First time I've really busted out the TIVO rewind for a sporting event, looks good (but I am biased).

My eyes literally aren't what they used to be but ... isn't his right foot laying on top of his left foot instead of touching the ground? And if so, that doesn't count, right?

Still some time left. The Steelers may regret not running some of that clock off when they had the chance.

Well, I think it was too harsh to say it shouldn't be a penalty. But it badly needs to be redefined. By the letter of the law, it's true that you can call a holding on almost every play. Same criticism with lots of penalties in hockey and fouls in basketball as well as traveling.

Instead it's always left up to the discretion of the ref so a holding that rarely would be called is called in a crucial situation because by the letter of the law it's legit. Same with fouls in basketball, particularly in the NBA. But, basically it puts an official stamp on shoddy officiating by giving them such a wide berth.

I agree JIMG and Phillies, stupid mistakes made for half the drama. This drive though and the Fitzy TD were pretty amazing though. And Holmes' catch...pretty amazing.

I don't view the mistakes as harshly because a lot of them (at least the holding calls) were due to aggressive plays such as blitzes by the other side. I think this has been a great SB. One of the top 10 at least that I've seen in my lifetime.

Seriously, this game has a ton of storylines, but one of them is Roethlisberger so consistently evading the very effective pass rush from the Cards. I don't think I've ever seen anything so noticeably like it in any game.

Agreed, technically an olineman can not grab or grasp any part of the defender, all blocking has to be done with the forearms or open flat hands....yet they teach from pop warner on to grab the shoulder pads and steer.

In the Sportscenter era, they'll slice and dice it down to the highlights and it'll be more memorable if the Cardinals manage to win somehow.

I see Pittsburgh hanging back about 15 yards.

Then again, you can do that with the length of the field and the time

He's completed over 70% of his passes despite a few drops by receivers, he's constantly kept plays alive with his feet. What has been so bad about his play this game?

I don't see anyway they get this done. They needed another timeout or about 15-20 seconds to have a shot.

A little surprised they didn't work the sideline a bit more on the second play. The Fitzgerald jump ball could be deadly at the goal line though.

I think you have to throw 2 jumpballs in the endzone now. If you through a sideline route and the guy doesn't get out, I wouldn't want to get off the plane in AZ

Warner needed to get that ball out btw and not hold it so long. ANOTHER stupid penalty by the Steelers, especially if this is overturned.
