The good news for 'Bama is it's close enough to get a decent ranged FG.

Ok, there's only 12 more points out there to get.

With 5:00 left in the 5th quarter, LSU and Alabama all tied up at 9

I'm ok with LSU being pass happy. That INT is coming at some point.

Maybe it was his hammy. If it were cramps, he'd be back out for that punt return. If it was the hammy, he is a tough SOB to stay upright and moving like he was.

if you want to be a heisman winning corner, you can't get posterized like that.

He's lucky. Usually when you are running full speed you end up with a tear, not a strain. But he's not going to be more than 80% out there.

If Bama can just manage to get a defensive TD they can make it a 4 score game.

OK State could at least move the ball on both of these teams I bet. LSU is just screwed with Jefferson at QB.

Can the announcers for the second time announcing these teams stop their fascination with Jones? Dude is gone. We get it.

It's now a 4 score game - LSU needs 4 scores to take the lead. Bama can put it away with a score to start the half. You don't look this dismal on offense and then just turn it around in the 2nd half. Maybe LSU can do that against Georgia but not Bama.

Through 6 quarters LSU had zero TDs against 'Bama. They need at least one. If 'Bama gets one, it's over.

It would still be tough against LSU, but they can be thrown on, see first half. You don't beat 'Bama by throwing the ball. You just don't.

Penn State's total score against Alabama in 1 game > LSU's score after a game and a half.

Apparently Honey Badger don't give a fuck about winning a national championship.

I disagree. He seems interested enough, his frustration seemed evident. But for most players "wanting to" <> "doing".

How appropriate to have a FG kicking contest at half time.

Looks like nobody is scoring a TD tonight.

I'm just talking about the team in general. Although he personally is playing as if he won the Heisman.

Ding ding ding, we have a winner.

I love the one-play-at-a-time focus that Bama has shown so far. LSU looks a little frustrated at this point, on both sides of the ball. A touchdown on the opening possession and this one could get quite fun indeed (a complete blowout for Alabama would suit me just fine).

Maybe I'm not paying enough attention, but I see offensive lines missing basic blocking assignments and Jefferson missing badly on many of his throws.

eta: Cue the LSU right tackle completely blanking on the edge rusher. Tremendous defense!

To be fair, it's not like LSU ever put up a ton of points on a real team like Oregon or something...

I actually replied too quick without thinking. I was making it sound like 'Bama was number two when I meant for them to be #1.

Agreed. LSU looks terribly sloppy on offense. False starts, dropped snaps, QB playing scared.

McCarron can't throw anything long for the life of him. A big reason 'Bama doesn't go up bigger on teams.

LSU has been inconsistent offensively all year, but usually followed by an explosive outburst that more than makes up for it. Hopefully they don't have one this game.

Officials Geek stat of the night. Rogers Redding (who Brent just mentioned) is the head of officials for the NCAA. He was also the Referee in the 93 Sugar Bowl where Alabama beat Miami for the National Title.

He's got that corner route working beautifully but anything deep downfield or more of a vertical looks like a heave.

What the fuck was that? If that happened in a video game we'd be screaming about the glaring bug.
