I'm happy the Royals survived their battle with the Boogeyman today without anyone getting too seriously injured.

Astros sweep the Angels and move about .500 for the first time since the first game of the season. We've been one of the hotter teams in baseball since the start of May or so...we're going to be right in the thick of the WC chase.

It was a shocking experience over the past two days. We'd never seen Familia save a game before.

You are a fucking idiot. There is a whole other world of baseball besides the Royals and who they happen to be playing that day.

April 5th 2016 has been erased from the Royals record books I'm guessing.

Nobody expects them to keep this up. I'm not even sure, in the long game, I entirely want them to. But they're fantastic to follow. Most fun I've had since 2011, though, really, since 2007-08. It's fantastic to see them pulling wins out of nowhere.

Thanks a lot. The Phillies most likely read your comment, got disheartened, and have gone 8-28 since.

We all knew it wasn't going to last, and I have no doubt that we're going to see more ugly stretches like this one the rest of the season, but there is real reason to be optimistic. We have a number of quality young arms and maybe by adding the right veteran/stud free agent or two to the mix you can have a really good rotation sooner rather than later. With Howard coming off the books you certainly have some money to play with.

Offensively they are certainly atrocious at this point but if Franco & Joseph can be key components, and the young guys in the pipeline can contribute, once again it only takes one or two key free agent acquisitions to turn things over rather quickly.

Maybe it's blind optimism, but I think that with the right moves, this team can be good next year and maybe even playoff competitive within two seasons.

David Price is off to another bad start tonight, but he looks like Sandy Koufax compared to the start Edinson Volquez is having.

Been a strange game so far between the Rangers and Yankees. The start of the game was delayed for rain for nearly 30 minutes, but the tarp was never on the field and no rain fell. They started the game, and it did start raining. There was a pretty steady not quite heavy rain falling throughout the game. In the top of the 9th, with the Yankees up by one, Chapman walked the first batter, and was about to walk the 2nd batter when Girardi game out and talked the umps into putting a tarp on the field, even though the rain was at the same level it had been for the past couple of innings. The game is still in rain delay at the moment.

The Rangers-Yankees game ended up finishing early this morning. After a three and a half hour delay the game restarted, and the Rangers ended up scoring 4 in the top of the ninth and won 9-6.

Well we took one of two in our home away from home last night in Kansas City hoping for the sweep here in St. Louis. Surprised to see that it was only about 25% red unlike the usual 50-75% red. Can't really understand what all the national media hype has been about these Royals all season but they didn't look good last night.

Syndergaard finally earning that reputation of his. He just murdered a reporter who was bitching about Syndergaard lying to his face about his bone spur injury.

Andrew Beaton on Twitter: "Noah Syndergaard, addressing the bone spur, just gave @AdamRubinESPN a box of tissues "in case the waterworks start again." Killing it."

Good to take three of four from the in-state rivals, even if they are pretty average this year. Got to keep winning to keep up with the red hot Indians.

The run that Kendrys Morales is on this month is just ridiculous. It says something when you put a DH in RF for a National League game. He went 12 for 16 in the Cardinals series, including a 450 foot laser bomb into the third deck last night. They said the exit speed of the ball was 111 mph, which is REALLY good. He was hitting .190 when the month started. He's up over .260 now.

Billy Hamilton scored on a wild pitch.

He was on second base.

God, I wish he got on base more. There's nothing like his speed.

Sounds like Jung Ho Kang might have gotten a little too much Cosby Show in South Korea. Sad between this and his broken leg last season what could have been for this guy. Why in the world would a rich pro athlete feel the need to drug and rape a girl?

Rays are offering up a couple of their serviceable starting pitchers in hopes of getting more bats.

I really miss the Joe Maddon era. Pitching depth is too critical on a shoe-string budget to be seriously considering this philosophical change (or hope of change).

If the Dodgers keep having injuries, they'd be a player but with McCarthy back last week and Ryu back this week, they might be good to go. But I'm not sure what sort of offense the Dodgers could give

I can't believe the Reds even beat the Cubs.

It's been like watching the 1990's Reds against the Braves lately... win like 1 out of 10.

Or more aptly, it's been like watching a AA team play the '27 Yankees.

Look on the bright side. The Reds are only deficient in three areas, pitching, hitting, and defense. When they get those fixed, watch out!

Aaron Hill to the Red Sox. Didn't expect much out of him this year, I basically thought he was a salary dump in order to get a better prospect in the Jean Segura to Arizona trade. He's actually been pretty darn solid (.283/.359/.421).

Let the Will Middlebrooks era begin at 3B for Milwaukee (LOL)

Pirates also called up Josh Bell. He hit a pinch hit grand slam in his second AB. If his power numbers improve as he gets a bit older, he could become a super beast. As of now I'd say he's probably potentially a switch hitting freddie freeman type.

Unlike the parking scheme previously detailed, I don't really have a problem with this. My Turner Field experiences were that the "vendors" on the approach were heavily weighted toward illegal bootleg merch & some food/drink items of questionable provenance.
