No way. Much better to just let a computer and some sports writers pick who should play in the championship and then set up a series of meaningless consolation games to go along with it.

Seriously? I mean, they were only favored by like 3 or 4 in this game. Not exactly the odds you want in your opening game.

How about you try doubling the post and make someone else beat you by taking jump shots instead of letting the guy thats destroying you continue to make 2 foot bunnies.

Thanks

At this point there really isn't that big a gap in my interest level, such is life with underachieving teams in your life & meaningless stretches of regular season play.

And if they expand to 96 teams I can't imagine there'll be much gap left at all.

thing is that basically everyone else shoots the 3 very, very well. 41% as a team.
They have to make it harder to pass it to him, but excessive doubling will leave someone open.

Imagine St. Marys if Patty Mills had stayed.

I took St. Marys to get knocked out in the 2nd round and have Richmond going to the Sweet 16 in another. Not sure who I should be rooting for. With the way Villanova played, I sort of want Richmond to win. But if we get those same refs, I'm not betting against Nova. I really need to stick to just one bracket.

St Mary's would be damn good if he had stayed. They are good now, but that would have been fun to watch this season.

Not heaving those bricks up would probably help, too.

That said, I've got St. Mary's winning this game, so I ain't complaining.

I don´t know, they´d just be an extemely different team. This teams strength is patiently working it around with Dellavedova setting things up.
Not seeing that happen with Mills.
They also lost a lot more people, i think only Samhan played more than 10 minutes a game last year if i looked correctly.
So that´s really tough to assume.

Ben Allen could be a nice player for lower/medium european teams, really like his game (although it seems australians are reluctant to make that step, is the aussie league paying that good by now ??)

Dellavedova is going to have a great college career, really nice decicion making and great competitor.

You seem to think I spend ANY time looking at anything in my brackets. I just go down the line and wing it. Done in under a minute.

According to their espn.com stats McConnell played 21 mpg last year, the others were all around 9 mpg.

Yeah, kind of tough to tell. Still think throwing an NBA talent on to a team can only help. I also think he would have needed to show his PG chops.

This St. Marys team is more consistent, but I think Patty Mills would have given the team a chance to go deep. You sort of need a guy who can just take over a game at some point to go deep in the tournament.

And that little run by North Texas at the end almost cost me the cover.

Y'know, I usually make it until at least dinner time before my bracket is tattered & torn but a 4-3 start (and Butler trailing UTEP early, making another loss a distinct possibility), this might turn out to be my worst first session ever.

If Butler wins, my brother finishes the early session of games with a perfect bracket. I'm in the middle of the pack in both mine although don't feel real confident in winning it.

Sucks for your bro that the Miners are going to give his first loss. I like the way this game is shaping up...we've missed a ton of shots that we usually make and we're still up six at the half.

I was at the gym, watching the Murray St. - Vandy game while I was doing my cardio. I got pissed at MS for taking a low-chance shot with that 3, then when they got the game-winner, I had to remember I was in a public place and NOT yell out. I looked down and noticed my HR had spiked up 10 bpm higher.

Well it seems pretty likely that we are going to have 96 teams in the tournament next year.

So let me ask, is there really anyone who is in favor of this? All this talk about it happening and I literally have not come across a single person who wants it to happen. If they made a poll of sports fans, I'd say that over 80% would probably not want to expand. I guess the NCAA should never shock me, but I can't remember another major sport that made league altering decision of such low approval.

w00t! St Mary's!

Still, my bracket has been killed already. I was really confident about UTEP's chances, didn't think Vandy would bow out (dissapointing year for Ogilvy too), AND I had Notre Dame advancing. Sheesh, and the day's not even over yet.

I've been saying this for years but apperently nobody at Directv cares (and I guess they shouldn't since I keep re-ordering) but what jackass is in charge of their game mix? I actually have a 120" inch projection screen in my basement and this still doesn't look good. Why not divide the screen into 4 equal pieces instead of the other junk (do I really need the scores from earlier in the day that are on a constant scroll at the top of every game?) that nobody buying the package is remotely interested in? And this first photo is off their website also so the games are blown up a little too big. For a better idea of how small the screens are look at the PGA one below which is about how much space the games are actually given...
