Sent you a PM! All of the league communication is via Slack. The sim is integrated with Slack so all results, news etc. flows through that.

We have two regular weekly JBL podcasts, and three semi-regular other podcasts. There are also a few CJBL podcasts but these are less regular. Yes, I know it's kind of insane that a sim league has 5+ podcasts, but that's the JBL universe!

EuroJBL (and the rest of the World) is opening later this year for human ADs and is now running in the background. It will be exciting times with more than 75 leagues playable (including Liga ACB, Australian NBL, China etc)

I was accepted back into the CJBL community a while back, and managed to take Wichita State to the Sweet 16 two years in a row after winning the JIT the previous season. But for some reason I can't get Gene Autry's "Back in the Saddle Again" song out of my head. Damn ear worm.

We've just started Recruiting for the 2042 season. A few decent teams still available (George Washington, Utah, Saint Joes, West Virginia, Oakland and Boston University, as well as some other lower prestige teams). Come compete for recruits against 300 human teams!

It is great. You can create your own style while recruiting your own players and maybe get to watch them in the pro's. It is scheduled at a perfect pace but you have the opportunity to invest more time into it if you wish. The commissioner makes everyone feel welcome and makes it easy to feel right at home.

What's the time commitment like?

Recruiting takes the most time especially if you have a lot of scholarships to offer. There are a lot of players to scout. Lower prestige schools probably take less time because they have smaller budgets. It's hard to put a number on it; some guys are more invested than others, but early recruiting phases probably take a couple of hours for each phase. There are 10 total phases (if needed) but once you fill the scholarships it's just waiting for the games to start.

Once the season begins it's mostly set it and forget it. Any tweaks take a matter of minutes. All that said the commish expects players to be (somewhat) active. There's a running joke now about "arbitrary rules" and "checking box scores" but a lot of the jokes are what makes the CJBL community special.

Yeah small schools just can't afford to do more than their home region and 1 or 2 nearby-so if you can't spend that much time on the game, go small. if you like to gameplan and micromanage your team that will take time too. But once the season starts i find I don't have that much to do with my one team.

It takes as much time as you want to commit, but generally you're playing against other hard core players and they will commit enough time to win. So you likely won't unless you put some level of effort in. Having said that, it will totally blow away all your expectations. I promise.

Commish has returned from his vacation from us and has got Training Camp ready to go. He has reworked a lot of it, so its wise to check out what's changed and how it works now before trying it. You have about 24 hours to get your teams through Camp
