I came in to find a huge problem at work. I'm not going to be around that much until I can get this cleaned up. I'll endorse PF in the main thread.
As you might gather from my popularity, I went more on the power end rather than the popular end of the scale. I've got a trick up my sleeve for this election but I'm going to need to figure out a way to do better as we go on......

Can you make your "trick" use conditional based on whether or not you would lose otherwise?

What happened to our caucus? We should probably get our BG bill out there. Anyone heard from Chubby today?

So should we just post the BG bill from yesterday to be voted in again?

NATIONAL WOLF SECURITY BILL
Congressional Sponsorship: KWhit and path12 WHEREAS, our country is faced with a security threat from within in the guise of the so-called "Wolf Party": BE IT RESOLVED: The role of Bodyguard is hereby established. The Bodyguard may protect either him or herself or one other member of Congress from harm once per year. The Bodyguard may guard the same person in consecutive years if deemed necessary. The Bodyguard shall notify Chief Rum of who he or she intends to protect prior to passage of the night deadline. Should the person under the Bodyguard's protection be attacked by wolves, there is a 33% chance that the attacker is killed by the Bodyguard. Should the attacker survive, there is a 33% chance that the identity of the attacker will become known to the Bodyguard. The Bodyguard will be chosen randomly by divine providence (aka Chief Rum) from among the living Members of Congress who are not wolf party members. This is the text from yesterday's bill with KWhit substituted as a sponsor in place of PF. |

As the Whip, I can post this whenever if this is what we'd like to do. I think we had pretty much said our Dem bill would be the same as yesterday (with just changing the sponsors)?

I hate to throw something out there without having heard from almost half of the caucus. Where the heck is everyone?

Catching up still.
What's a rider? Also can someone post a quick summary of yesterdays results and what we are discussing today. It looks like a brothers bill which I am OK with, but I would mabye rather have a soothsayer. |

Rider is a clause that the wolves can add to any bill, essentially making their own rule with that bill. The rider they put on the BG bill yesterday was to basically have them except from any investigation into them (for yesterday, it would have been the Seer) Since the bill was vetoed, they do NOT have that power (at least not yet)

As far as what happened yesterday, both bills passed (once the repubs re-did theirs), although like I said, Chubby ended up vetoing our bill (after a lot of consideration on it) It effected the parties popularity some, but hopefully we can win some of that back today.
We are going to re-introduce the BG bill and like a Siblings bill, as you have seen. It wouldn't be in the dems best interest to introduce a soothsayer role, as that is more of a repub role (from the rules)

They only get one rider per day, so if we introduce 3 bills, they can only rider one. And now CR has issued a statement saying we can only veto twice per term (meaning when the Prez gets elected tonight, he can only veto two of the potential 12 bills we have in the next four days)

Soothsayer is a Dem role. Chubby put himself on the hook a little bit by talking about offering a Brothers bill in the public forum. He has not checked in since today's discussion has gotten going, so I have no idea if it is still his intention.
I think most of us are open to considering a bill that offers a different role, but, politically, the GOP would probably be pretty pissed if Chubb proposed anything that went too far to the left. Make the case for soothsayer. I am too much of a noob to really know which is better in what circumstance. Wolves can only offer 1 rider a year. |

FYI- got a PM from Olie that Pass' internet isn't working for him at his job so lines of communication may be sketchy.
I have his email but I don't know how in touch with his party he will be |

I agree with KWhit the brothers role has always been to me kind of a hack role.
The soothsayer is a great role because you can catch someone in a lie later in the game if there is a countered reveal. I also like an "apprentice" role that if one of our key roles goes down the apprentice can learn that skill in 2 days. but I will support any bill we put forward |

Speaking of today's actions - anyone have anyone in mind for the lynch vote tonight? I would imagine that is going to be quite party-split, but I know there were a couple mentioned yesterday as pinging some radars.

If I understand your suggestion, the risk of a double kill outweighs the value of the sibs being able to PM? Wouldn't allowing 1 or, possibly 2 experienced WW players to be able to securely communicate be of tremendous value? Sure, it could crap out and connect 2 lightweights, but any role potentially can go into the hands of an incompetent. Again, I am a relative noob to the game, so I would appreciate the reasoning behind the lesser role. Being a Democrat, I actually like to act baased on accumulated knowledge |

I have never found the PM capability of the siblings to be very helpful, no. The role I propose would at least allow the siblings to announce themselves a bit earlier in the game to form a CoT. Because of the 2 kills for 1 aspect of the siblings, I've found that they almost NEVER reveal - which kind of defeats the purpose.
PMing each other would be very valuable if either one of the two siblings ever had any useful information, but unfortunately they never do because they never have any additional role - they're just vanilla villagers beyond their sibling role. I have never found siblings to be helpful, really. |

Or.... We could do something totally out of the box.
Like a developing a Seer Communication Network. Establish a single non-wolf person from the opposite party of the seer to gain once-a-day PM communication with the seer. Something like that would spread the word of who has been scanned and who hasn't and allow a found wolf to be communicated without the seer outing himself. What do you think? |

We could try for unlimited PMs, but could settle for just one if CR said we needed to (which I'm thinking he might).

Hi all:
I'm back online after having issues with the work free address. Hopefully that means Pass is also back on. Some thoughts on the day's proceedings: 1. The Republican's definitely slurried me given Chief's comments and my poll status. While I have some tools at my disposal to help turn the tide, anything we can do to help me out would be appreciated. Can I help sponsor Chubby's other bill or at least get one of our support positions. 2. I think the brothers/siblings bill isn't that powerful and we should defer on that until later. 3. The seer PM network is a creative idea, but isn't a seer a republican type role that might not be well received by out consituents. I would support the soothsayer role as that seemed to help a lot in the Spawn Game (empath) 4. I'm sorry to say I think Packer is going to lose because of last night's veto and we might want to target some slurry's against republican congressional candidates instead of Illini. 5. Lathum - any previews of the bill from the republicans?

Been tied up all day. Since the rule change means that we can't bleed the wolves dry like originally hoped why don't we push to over-ride the veto so we may propose three all new roles today?

Well, a retaliation for voting for our leader would be a good congress move, but I don't know who to vote for in a pure werewolf sense. Some have pinged the radar, but it's still kind of like a day 1 vote.

What about a vote for Pass? He did admit that he pushed for the stronger republican bill yesterday that would've been overturned.

I am beginning to think EF has a good point about overriding this veto - although I am not sure how much I want to push it with a nomination on the line (no matter how much you guys think I don't have a shot, heh)
