Given the timing issues around the story and the fact that he was at USC until at least 8:30pm, yeah I don't think it's a stretch that they should have seriously doubted the story from the get go. Plus some SC sources were getting calls almost immediately after the story broke that it was BS.

And even if you had no reason to doubt him at all, why break the story that night?

I can't disagree with that. The story would have carried a lot more weight with quotes from said nephew too, and attempting to do so probably would have led to PR figuring out pretty quickly that the story had major holes.

He actually quit last week (because he was a fifth string RB) and decided to go public now. Lots of players standing up for Sark, but this still sucks for the program.

Firmly on sarks side on this one - the reaction from the team has basically been that Brown is a diva who was given every chance to contribute. Unless more comes out I think this one is a non story, but the timing sucks

Everything I ever saw from Sark was he loves all his players like sons and cares deeply about them. I don't believe one shred of this nonsense.

This true with Mora yet the rumor on SC boards is he doesn't care about his kids and cuts them at will
